Yes! Beautiful park! Great for the whole family. If it’s your first time, pass the first parking lot, and keep going until you get to the playground parking lot. Just follow the road, you can’t miss it.

Nice large (over 200 acres) urban park overlooking the Puget Sound. Access to a small beach. A number of hiking trails throughout the park and a decent picnic area with tables.

First off, prepare to do a little walking. The gates to the parking lot are closed, so you have to walk about half a mile down to the water. The easiest way is straight down the hill on the road that would have taken you to the parking lot. You could also take one of the many trails on either side of the road. I’ve gotten a little turned around in a section of these trails and had to find my way back with the google maps app (it’s saved me a few times). Also, the park is listed on google maps as closing at 8:00. It’s actually open until 9:30, as shown in the photos.

One of my favorite parks. It offers easy access to the beach, views of the Olympics on clear days, a thrilling vantage point for kids and adults to watch trains, a great playground and field, and a pretty trail system for running or hiking.

A beautiful area and definitely provides one of the most photogenic views of SF along with the GG bridge as a guiding line. In my healthier cycling team days wed ride up the paved roads to the top, but Im now content to be driving those with the top down on a nice day. Hard to believe that this has military history and almost became something called Marin cello.

Beautiful and well-maintained park with several interconnected hiking trails that lead to the beach. We parked on the eastern edge of the park in the neighborhood and it took about 25-30 minutes of leisurely hiking to get to the beach. The beach is a relatively hidden gem - a great alternative to the much more popular beaches at Discovery Park and Golden Gardens. We went on Sunday afternoon and the beach was pretty sparsely populated.FYI - no dogs allowed on the beach, you’ll get fined up to $150 if caught.

Absolutely beautiful park with a stunning and quiet beach awaits you! And then...I went with my Mom yesterday around 2:30 pm. A kid and his pregnant girlfriend asked for a jump, Mom obliged and their car started. We parked and they shut their car off (??). When we got back from the beach my Moms back passenger window was smashed in and they made off with a bag of change. Could have been worse, hope the $50 in change helped their situation if it was even them, could have been anyone.

Some other reviewers have called this a hidden gem, and Ill definitely agree as this park has a lot of great things going for it while not being extremely well known. There are ample areas for picnics, hiking and wide open spaces for gatherings. The beach, however, sits deep within the park itself and can be a challenge to get to on foot depending on where you end up parking. The beach is big, but there are nothing there in the way of a snack bar or even portable restrooms. It is, however, a great place to relax and listen to the waves - even if some of the sand down the beach is more rocky than soft. The views and scenery make this park worth the journey.

A hidden greenery within Seattle. Lush green fields, beach, loads of trees, quite sitting benches, small streams, children’s park, dog park, hiking trail, viewpoint - this park has so much to offer. Watching the sunset was memorable. You can sit on the beach and watch the trains run behind you. The greenery is a treat to the eyes. Very well maintained. Parking lot very close the beach. Must visit.

We walked the trail from the Eastern entrance near the QFC on 100th St. and went all the way to the bay shore where Piper’s Creek exits the forest. It’s a great walk and at the time we were there water was flowing everywhere it seemed — being after some rainy days. On the way back we picked about 20 nice sized apples at the old orchard.

Beautiful park with forest trails, beach, and playgrounds for kiddos. There is a lot of parking, bathrooms, and picnic tables here too! Trails were on the easier side and not super long, but still super beautiful and a great escape from the city. Beach was also very nice and clean, and the view of the mountains across the water is magical. Again, a great escape from the city and really feels like you are out in a secluded section of nature.

This is a quiet beach park. There are many picnic spots and places for kids to play. There are quite a few parking lots. However, even in early Mar 2020, the park had many visitors. Some of the parking spots overlook the water. The train tracks run through the park separating the parking and the beach. You’ll have to go over a little foot-bridge to get to the beach. The beach itself is quite small, but very pretty in the sunset. I am dropping a couple of stars since I could smell a lot of weed smoking while walking to the beach from the parking lot. I don’t really know how conducive that may be for a place where many kids come to play.

Carkeek Park is a family friendly, multi-use park. Many hiking trails surround the park as it is in a gully. It has a model aircraft use area as well as trailsalong Carkeek Creek and a fish hatchery.Large lawn areas for hundreds of picnic users as wellas a play area for kids. A larger well maintained bathroomand bonfire areas are also used frequently.Trails lead to a pedestrian overpass thattake you safely over the BNSF Railway. If you choose to cross over the railway be extra cautiousas the BNSF folks have welded all the rails togetherand there is no longer the clicking noise as trains rush alongthe corridor at speeds of 50 mph plus!Always cross the Railways safely!Though many like to walk the rails to photographscenery or graffiti along the rails, the RR Police may citeyou for criminal trespass. There have been multiple deathsalong the stretch from Golden Gardens North toRichmond Beach from careless individuals walkingon the rail road tracks, so, stay off!Other than that warning and no dogs allowed on the beach, this is one of my favorite destinations in North Seattle.Tons of sea life, wildlife, wind surfers and great sceneryfrom sunsets to sailboat races and the Olympic Mountains.

There have been many further comments.Down the long path, and stream. Down short transit road. Falling travel. flowing travel. Difficult to arrive in part, caused by the interpretation inside the location. Here, worldly space slings as a crescent. Beneath it the many edge places turn to face an inquisitor. In the bottommost echelon there is the bed. This mechanism creates the rest of carkeek, the park.////Observe. There are many further comments published. The body traveling and more; the body feeding with restaurant, park, home, location. The body attempts i. i is not contiguous for time. The body attempts more in voicing. That is not the same as the proper.////There are many further comments. Now what remains includes only the bed. The body returns to the bed.

A good getaway experience is a Seattle park. The paths are surrounded by lush growth. Hey, lots of flights in/out of the city so there always seems to be the sound of a jet in the background. We love this park and how it has something for everyone. The kids have ample space to play in the grass or on the swings, etc at the large park above the beach by the main parking lot. Easy access to the beach on the covered bridge over the train tracks. Beach has a mix of sand and rocks. Very large and beautiful with magnificent views of the Olympics, especially at sunset! Amazing park on a beach in PugetSound, 18 minutes from downtown, that makes you feel a hundred miles away from a very loud, hectic city. The lights disappear and you can actually star gaze - something kids who grew up in Seattle in the last 30 years - don’t even understand. Honestly. it’s hard to find peace and solitude and some true nature in this city. It is Shocking the city leaders never planned for - parks, big parks - and certainly never planned for superb, rapid transit. The most current leaders seem to have had their eye on the dollar (more growth) and not the ambiance and character of what once was the emerald city (it used to be green)! So past leaders and politicians had the foresight and put aside Carkeek Park. Be thankful for those who were here in the early part of the 1900’s for this (Carkeek Family were donors of original park - which morphed into this 215 acres!) and go spend an afternoon on trails, grass and beaches. Best at low tide for most amount of sand. Wonderful to arrive an hour before sunset and discreetly have a wine and cheese hour. I believe the Environmental Center lost its’ funding so please be your own Steward and leave it better than you found it. Oh, and yes, some trains will go by but it’s rather pleasant and even a little nostalgic to some of us ... Enjoy ! P.S. Free - in case you are from a place that charges to use public space (which should be illegal in the USA). Photo Credit - Wikipedia, Alltrails, ...

When I want to go for a walk and get totally engrossed with nature, I head to this park. The access to the park is right behind QFC grocery store on Holman NW near 6th Ave NW. The path works its way down by a creek and you can easily follow the main path all the way out to Puget Sound. There are lots of bridge and lovely views of trees covered in moss. You will walk by a farm with fruit trees, a water processing plant and finally when you get to Puget Sound, there is a walkway that takes you over the railroad track that runs right along the beach. the walkway will take you right to the beach. The beach is a rocky beach lovely for sight seeing but not for bathing. It takes about 20 mins to walk from the entrance by the QFC to Puget Sound.

What a quaint park, I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t expect the beautiful view I received when I crossed the bridge that lead to the shoreline. There’s a loop that’s paved that’s great for people with mobility issues and/or strollers. There’s also a couple of parking lots with one sitting right beside the shore, just be prepared to climb the stairs to the bridge to cross the train tracks. It’s not a good idea to bring your dog here due to concerns of bacteria in the creek. If you’re lucky you may sea an aquatic animal on the beach. There are some picnic tables and also a large grassy field for outdoor activities.
