Great park where you can sit in the sun while looking at people doing games like chess, ping pong or basketball. There’s a great atmosphere at the park and you can also see the Grand Central Arcade from here. There’s also a beautiful memorial for the Fallen Firefighters which reminds people of the Great Seattle Fire.

We were there this afternoon and very much enjoyed our visit. We werent there long as we were catching a show and dinner at Cafe Nordo, but we enjoyed the views and the totem poles. Theres also a memorial to Seattles fallen firefighters here. It has a unique atmosphere, a bustling cobblestone square, surrounded by tall buildings. Be aware of the people around you though, we were practically chased by a very aggressive unstable man yelling. Other than him, the other people were nice. We walked back through after dark and it was filled with a lot of sketchy people.

The only thing better than Occidental Park is Occidental Park during the holidays. It is pure magic. Instead of just historic buildings, bustling Underground tours, amazing coffee and treats at Cafe Umbria, you get all of that AND dangling holiday lights and, if youre lucky, a rain drenched block of brick and cobblestones reflecting it all back at you.

The Seattle Park revitalization effort has really made parks like this one amazing. They have events from wine tastings to games like outdoor giant chess and ping pong ball. The restaurants that have popped up there recently have added a collective culture of sweet smells, eye catching colorful foods, and vibrant laughs from people enjoying the park. It has been a great effort on behalf of people of Seattle.

A nice spot to grab lunch with various park amenities. Surrounded by some historic Seattle architecture. There is often a performer on the weekdays and always quite a few people if the weather is nice. It could use some sort of covered space for eating during bad weather. As with most parks there are quite a few homeless people but they mostly keep to themselves. Overall a nice place to visit.

Downtown is the last place I want to go! Dirty, scary people everywhere. I went there only to see Thrill the World 2019 because my Grandson was dancing in it. A light turnout because it was downtown - less people dancing in it and watching every year. Sad...

Its lit well for the season, but this is quite a shady area of town. My boyfriend and I got off at the pioneer square station from the link and walked through here because the lights were pretty... But I wouldnt recommend it. There were drunks and junkies and dirty needles. Not one of Seattles finer moments.

This place can be more dicey than a game of Yahtzee depending on when you go. There are many social services nearby which means there is an increased propotion of people experiencing mental instabilities when not diluted by tourists. That being said, its still a great place to grab lunch or a beer or some street photos.

A much-improved and much cared for park centrally located in Pioneer Square, Seattle. This park has been programmed with fun for just about everyone. Very often theres live music with local artists. Nice to see Seattle Police walking through now and then too. Park rangers are helpful, and the parks history has been beautifully maintained.

Occidental Square seems to be a nice little break spot in a busy industrial world. It is quite serene, and you get to see Native American inspired statues and totems, and people young, old, homeless, rich spending time in the same area reading or playing table tennis. It is completely surrounded by enormous buildings, soup kitchens, and shops, yet this little square managed to pull us out of that and enjoy ourselves for a moment.
