Full size IMAX! Much better than the AMC branded auditoriums.

The Bad News:- This theater NEEDS Reserved Seating. The current seating system is holding it back from being a truly exceptional movie-going experience. The Good News:- HUGE 80 ft Screen is Breathtaking. (Especially for movies filmed in IMAX like Avengers.)- The IMAX 4K Laser projection, next-gen audio and screen size makes this a TRUE IMAX experience (unlike the Lie-MAX found in most AMC Theaters.)If this theater had reserved seating, it would receive a perfect score. I truly hope they listen to the demand of audiences and implement this.

We saw Maleficent: Mistress of Evil here. It’s a beautiful theater with really nice comfortable chairs and spacious rows of seating. We found it a little difficult to locate the entrance within the park and parking itself can be a bit of a chore to find. Allow yourself plenty of time to do these things and you won’t regret it. Once in though it was totally worth the slightly higher price than going to a normal cinema. We sat about middle height of the seating and if I went again I would try to sit higher, I think it would get me more in the center of the screen which can make a big difference on a screen this large.

Do not bother buying your ticket in advance. They do not normally have a ticket holders line so you have to wait in the (very long) line with everyone buying tickets for both the IMAX theater and the Pacific Science center even if you already have a ticket. If you value your time go somewhere else to see a movie. I hear that the Cinerama is nice.

So let me get this straight... They replaced superior IMAX 70MM film projectors with inferior 4k laser projectors and the theatre still charging the same price?! Its a disgrace to the screen size, the great sound quality, the filmakers who chose to film using IMAX cameras, and to anyone who knows what IMAX is supposed to look like! You play a standard 35mm full screen it looks blurry because its too big, but when you have a film like Dunkirk play here, it looks bad too because the projectors werent made gor that size. And its a disgrace by IMAX in general to have created so many liemax theaters and keep finding new options for projectors that arent delivering the filmakers intent.

The experience before and after a film here has really suffered. It used to be that, before a film began, there was a nice short film introduction to the Imax experience, showing off its features. This, along with an attendant intro, really set things up nicely for the feature film and got the audience excited! Now, theres a poorly done promo about Seattle and the Science Center that just blasts at you! Along with several loud commercials. The audio is not tuned for the theater it plays in, and is far louder and harsher on the ears than the feature film, which is tuned properly. Lets please go back to a nice Imax intro, and no blasting a cheesy seattle promo at the audience.Additionally, the special lighting in the theater that set the tone before the film (LEDs on the walls) havent been used in years, only the bright worklights above greet guests, which should really only be used to clean/maintain the theater. Not before a showing.Other areas of the theater are worn (especially the carpet), and now when I walk into the building, the first impression, I feel like Im entering a daycare, with more tacky elements added to the lobby area each year. I love having attractions for kids, but it can be done much more tastefully and more off to the side.Worst of all, I was greeted by staff who really had no interest in being courteous. Did I catch them on a bad day? It wasnt even crowded at the time.Ive been coming to this fantastic theater since it opened, so I hold it to a high standard. Sad to see it in this state, and it wouldnt be hard to fix much of this.

Ive only gone twice in the past few month so bare with mePros:- I’m a germaphobe and the Seats are clean, and the lighting is bright so im thinking they definitely dont want it to look bad because of that- the screen is HUGE like square compared to liemax theaters.- the money for the movie goes to the science center- staff are nice so farCons:- the rows are very close to each other so the walk way to your seat is inconvenient, and since they dont leave enough room for anyones legs and feet you definitely get allot of seat kickers in there. not to mention you can feel the person 1 seat down kicking the seat next to you in your row.- the visuals arent very high def? i cant describe it but something is off.- the staff is sparse, ive been twice, once to captain marvel and yesterday was endgame, and both times i didnt see staff anywhere to help guide you to the area where you wait in line. you are just supposed to know i guess once you enter the white gate. i did see a cleaning crew though both times. :)- no assigned seats so you should show up an hour early (not a half hr like i have been lol)i think thats about it, the end. :)

Definently the largest and best IMAX theater in Seattle with laser projectors and a truly amazing sound system. The concessions arent the best, but the popcorn is fine. I wouldnt say that this is the best theater in Seattle (that in my opinion goes to the Cinerama) but its definently the second best. The tickets are cheaper than other IMAX theaters in the area, and those have smaller screens. So if you want to see a movie in IMAX, and its convenient for you to go here, then I see no reason why you should go to any other IMAX theater in the Seattle area.

A nice clear theatre, decent sound and nice banked seating. Two adverse comments. Its a really long walk down the slope - not so friendly when you have mobility problems. Secondly the rows of seats are really long with no breaks - if you need the toilet during the show, youve quite a trek and could disturb lots of people.

Given that this is an older establishment the seats are not good but that is not why someone should go to Boeing IMAX. They should go here for one of the best IMAX experience you can get. Especially if you are in Seattle, Bellevue or Redmond area

Staff was incredibly rude. We arrived at 12:30 to buy tickets for a 1pm showing. Asked for two tickets for the movie and the woman responded, uhh for the 7pm show? We responded that we thought there was a 1pm show. She said she can give us tickets for the 7pm show if we really wanted, the conversation continues like this a little longer before she finally tells us the 1pm show was sold out and we really should have known that. Nothing on the website said so. She proceeded to try to hide a laugh as we walked away. I cant believe someone was so rude over something so trivial.

Watched Dunkirk.3 things that were wrong:-The image color was VERY off. Everything on screen had a slight purple highlight on the upper part of an element. Best observed when the screen is black while there is white lettering, there is a purple outline at the top of the letters that is very obvious. I noticed this in the first 2 seconds of the first trailer and instantly felt disappointed.- The 4K laser projectors did not even come close to a 70mm format and everything on screen was slightly blurry like watching a 720p TV. For the full IMAX +80ft screen, only a 70mm format is capable of providing a crystal clear image. For regular size theater screens, 4K is amazing but does not have the pixel count for the massive full IMAX experience. 8K projectors will be able to change that in the future. (Guardians of the galaxy Vol. 2 was shot in 8K)(also 70mm>8K)-The seats were extremely crammed together. I am 160lb and I was very comfortable but large people would have a nightmare here. Similar feeling to being in an aircraft. Also when the seats are down it is impossible to get up and leave because there would be absolutely zero room to walk down the isle. When the movie starts, you better not have to go use the bathroom. Seriously there is noway!2 things that were good:-The sound was absolutely amazing! I have never been this blown away by a sound system before. They knocked this one out of the park!-As previously stated, the actual picture format was severely lacking, but the size of the screen was unbelievably immersive! Absolutely nothing to improve upon regarding screen design.I am rating one star entirely because of the color problem. With a theater that expensive, it is ridiculous to have a problem so huge and that is so easy to fix.

Great, updated theater and sound system with a full size IMAX screen. Weve seen both of the new Star Wars movies here in 3D. The only issue Ive had is getting there too late and having to sit on the front, I wish they would update the ticketing system to allow you to preselect / pre buy reserved seats instead of having to show up an hour in advance and sit on the floor in line in the hallway outside the theater.

People who have seen movies here need to beware that other Imax screens will not be as good. I saw an Imax at regular theatre thinking it would be the same as the Boeing IMAX, and it was not the same. It was still good, but the Boeing Imax is a way bigger screen, and really justifies the pricier ticket price. If youre going to go for a movie on Imax, do it right with Boeing Imax at Pacific science center.

Get a seat that is a bit higher. With that big of a screen it will hurt your neck. The screen and sound are not even comparable to other theaters. The only reason they didnt get five is because the concessions suck.
