I went here with something of a mixed group and came away with the feeling that this location might have seen better days. The puzzles werent completely reset, and some were pretty rundown, as with a whiteboard that had been pretty well battered. UPDATE:Owner actually got in touch with us and refunded our money for the game that physically didnt work. They explained that they were facing several issues in the beginning but their team is working hard to fix things. Maybe give them a few more weeks and then try the games as their original locations games were pretty good when we played them a few years ago.DO NOT BOOK NEW MISSION ROOMS YET - Just played the two new rooms (Medieval Madness and The Red Wire) and am so disappointed. Medieval Madness is simply not playable and The Red Wire has a code that you are allowed only one try to and if you get it wrong, the game ends, with absolutely no warning that you only get one try or that the game ends if you get it wrong. Weve reached out to the owner to try to get a refund and so far, radio silence. To give context to my issue with Medieval Madness, my friends and I have played more than 30 escape rooms and we actually got out of the room, so its not that were sore losers, the room is really physically not playable. Every single game we have played has the rule if something doesnt move/open fairly easily, dont force it. In Medieval Madness, we got to a puzzle that we figured out what it was, but couldnt get it to move and therefore didnt force it. We thought that solving some other puzzle might release it so it could move and we would come back to it then. We had to skip three puzzles in that room before we got back on track, and we only got back on track because one door that shouldnt have opened until wed solved one of those puzzles was left open when the game was reset. It ends up that youre supposed to force that puzzle that we couldnt get to move. After we got out, we asked the staff what we had missed and they said, it does move, its just really tough, so we went back to it and tried to get it to move, knowing that it wasnt wrong to put some force into it. I couldnt get it to work with my hands so I ended up standing on it. I still couldnt get it to move. My friend joined me and even with 300 pounds of us, we still couldnt get something to move. My friend ended up jumping on it, and finally got it to wiggle a bit. Thats just unacceptable and goes against every opening spiel at every escape room weve ever done. Its a shame because PanIQs prison game was our first ever escape room and is what what got us hooked on escape games. Fix the room and fix our relationship by refunding us our money.

Maybe Im a little harsh, but compared to other escape rooms Ive been to, this one didnt have a place to put your belongings, as well the timer was already started before entering the room. Also, the clues didnt require much thought, seems obstacles were just placed just for the sake of (eg 2 paths to solve a puzzle, but only until you reach the end of one you realize its blocked by a random piece of wood, there were no indicators until you had wasted time on it). Also most of the clues didnt make you think at all (page in a book and a sequence of letter to open a lock) most other places you would have to think and rearrange it. Not only that but the sound effects in the room were excessively loud for no reason. Because of this I found the place very mediocre.

We had the best time! Great customer service! We were running a little late, but our instructor was nice enough to let us play out our whole 60 minutes. He was very friendly and energetic, which helped to pump us up and get us ready to play the game. We were a group of 5 in the Geek escape room, and I felt like that was just enough to spread out and gather clues without to many people confusing each other. I would definitely come back to try the other rooms. I would recommend to anyone, try this place out! You wont regret it!!

Did the Psycho escape room. We knew it was hard and we didnt expect to finish, but there were some things that we couldnt figure out due to the room not being set properly. We had to call someone in a few times to unstick something or troubleshoot a mechanical issue. Wish we would have asked for a partial refund or something. Room concept was cool, though. And a couple of the puzzles were clever.

Booked “The Prison” room as a team building event for 8 people and it was a huge success. Rooms were well setup and hard, but not too hard. About half the group had experience with escape rooms, and the other half none. We escaped with 10 mins left and had a great time!

Prison: If you have done other escape rooms, this is not for you. The stage and props were not only weak, but some of the locks involved violent jiggles, and a vital clue even broke. After 10 minutes of waiting for the game master to come help, one of our players had to retrieve a key and lock themselves back in the cell. Though he was very nice and gave us extra time, I don’t think the hassle was at all worth the $40 per person.

Owners just want to make money and squeeze in as many clients as possible. No personal attention, blunt policies, and unexplained glitches (I did Psycho) throughout the game. Thoughtfully designed puzzles sadly ruined by poor customer service. The room advertises with a 5% success rate, but that is not because of the difficulty of the puzzles, but rather the poor human interactions. There are a lot of cooler escape rooms in the Bay Area to try instead. Omescape, Palace Games, and SCRAP to name a few

My husband and I (semi-experiences players) and our two friends (newbies) played the Prison room and we really enjoyed our experience! The puzzles were creative and the staff were friendly. We made it out with 3min left because one of the physical puzzles in the main room took us a long time to complete. Overall though, good immersive room. The location was a little hard to find in the dark. There is a black gate with a sign on it that you must walk through in order to get to the main door.

We did the prison escape room, it is maybe my favorite escape room I have done. The staff member there, Moses, was incredibly helpful and made very fun for the group. The entrance to the building was a black gate with a logo on it. This had us worried the establishment wouldnt be very nice, but it ended up being pretty clean and orderly. The lobby for waiting was awesome and clean, with a fooseball table and some games to entertain you while you were playing. The game was of medium difficulty, we didnt finish, but were very close. The locks and mechanisms worked very well, we didnt have a single issue. It also allowed for more ways to do things that just cross referencing information like we often see in escape rooms, it had puzzles that required some finesse and thinking things out. I really enjoyed my experience

The escape rooms are pretty hard and an ideal team size would be 4-5 to solve them. The clues are not very tough but its good to be thorough to check rooms for clues and ask for hints early of feeling confused or else we lose a lot of time. An experience of having gone to an escape room previously will help with PanIQ - they are really well thought out rooms and its a good experience.

Having played many escape rooms, the Psycho game seemed to be the one that even with a group of 3 we knew would be challenging. We didnt make it out, but there was one clue that couldve been presented differently. Our bigger frustration was that our car was broken into at the corner of Post / Hyde. More of a caution to be vigilent - and this was between 8-9 pm so I woudnt even consider it that late.

The escape room was fun, but it was they didnt seem to be very organized. We booked the 10:30 escape room and were told to arrive 15 minutes before. We were there a little after 10 and nobody was there. No one answered the door, I called several times and nobody answered. Finally someone showed up around 10:40, just when we were ready to leave. Then during our time in the room, we would radio for hints and the person working and helping us seemed very distracted and unfamiliar with the room. Fortunately we were successful at escaping, which made it really fun. There were fun puzzles and features in the room.

It was pretty difficult, and not a huge difference in the puzzles. Plus, the difficulty was based, somewhat, on inadequate information (symbols that were not clear, numbers that were worn off, or gadgets that got stuck). Prison is a great theme (perfect for Alcatraz tourists especially), though it is too easy. I had a couple groups of high schoolers go through it in just over 40 minutes. Hard to feel like you got your moneys worth there. Psycho is also a fun theme, more intense, and a very challenging room. Sadly, although the puzzles are challenging, what makes the room next to impossible to break out of is not whether you are clever or not. There was a lock that delayed us over 10 minutes simply because it functioned differently than any other lock, and there was no way to know this. Quite frustrating.

Not a great experience overall. Bought the Groupon based on good reviews but compared to other escape rooms I have done (10+) the puzzles were sloppily done. One specific portion was a huge part of the puzzle and wasnt difficult but was just time consuming. A key got stuck inside the wrong lock and was scolded for using excessive force. The gamemaster stripped the key from the lock with pliers and a kick and tried blaming the bent key on me. Not a good experience to yell at the customer. Good idea of a room, poor staff and execution.

This was the worst run room I have ever been to. The single employee present was not helpful or sympathetic to the bad experience. The materials were in ill repair, and a lock broke stalling our party by 20 minutes. We came with a Groupon and the additional savings were not worth the poor experience. The puzzles were reasonable, but the cut cost franchise model did not do them justice. Avoid this facility and find a better escape for an evenings entertainment.

Recommended if its your first time to do an escape room as you wont have anything to compare it to. If youve done others before you wont be satisfied. I went to Escape SF and the staff there gave a good intro to first timers. They were also constantly watching our progress. The staff at PanIQ sounded like they were reciting their English homework when they gave us context about our room. It was also hard to understand their hints through the walkie. When we asked for hints, it was clear they werent watching us. The dude also came into our room with 3 mins left on the timer - like opened the door to a dimly lit room. The people who run PanIQ and the staff should do other escape rooms so they know that they have a lot to work on.
