It’s a pretty park, and yes there is a lake there. There is no way to actually walk around the lake from what I can tell though. Also, parking is somewhat difficult to get to, it seems as though this is more of a local residential park area.

Lovely park. Spacious with slides, swings, and various climbing structures. My 10&12 yr old enjoyed the place - although they hooked up with other kids to play hide&seek in and around the playground. There is a toddler playground and an older kids side. Both side looks fun with lots of climbing apparatus. The playground surface is rubbery, bouncy, and safe for toddlers and those that are likely to tumble from time to time. Its clean. Huge plus! Wonderful foggy view of the lake today, but its good to be outside watching the kids play. Playground is right by the toilets. There is a picnic table right next to the bathroom. It overlooks the playground.

They have two separate playgrounds right off the 12th Ave entrance, one for smaller kids (under 5), and one for bigger kids. Whole thing was redone a couple years back and looks great. Always a nice crowd of kids on sunny days. As a bonus, the playgrounds are in a very sunny area consistently warmer than the surrounding neighborhood. Also several nice tennis courts, a lake, and a dog park (not fenced in, but nice and spacious). Really a great neighborhood park.

Its not absolutely grand like Goldengate Park ,and there was only one bird in its pond to adore, nevertheless, if you want a place to sit and rest from the drama and insanity of 2020, this can be a place to go.

This a nice place to take the dog for a walk and also good place to bring the little ones. Everything is nice and green here with a nice little lake or pond with ducks and others birds. There is a coyote alerts sign, so be careful if you have a little dog.

It’s great but on a sunny day , man the sun is vicious. Def wear some sunglasses as there is very little shade here. They need some trees. I wouldn’t recommend coming here with twins toddlers as there are plenty of escape routes and it’s not fully enclosed, plus you have to watch them in case they escape to the lake. For older kids it’s perfect. Just not for boisterous toddlers who like to run!

Great park! Awesome playgrounds, one for toddlers and one for older kids. There are public restrooms, tennis courts and a dog section. Lots of open grassy spaces and various benches. Also a picnic pavilion. There are a few water fountains scattered as well. There are work out stations which is pretty cool and I always see people using them. My only wish is the paved path be repaved. Pushing a stroller while trying to avoid bumps and crevices can be tricky while trying to keep the baby sleeping. Oh and there is also a basketball hoop and a water pet drop off box!

Nice mostly, but for the people. Not for the timid towards dogs. Dog owners will be indignant as you ride your bike through the multi use trail but will not have their dogs on leash. Ultimate self righteous snowflake territory. normal humans be warned .

A beautiful, peaceful, serene, magical, and memorable park. I absolutely love it here. Granted, I may not be playing at the playground so much anymore but, I still do go down the rock slide occasionally and swing on the swingset. I love taking a good book with me and sitting down on the sand by the lake water. It is soooo gorgeous and I love that it is secluded and quiet a majority of the time. This is one of my most favorite and magical places to be.

A truly beautiful 2,000 year old natural lake, with trails and a childrens playground, tennis courts, parcourse, and an ever expanding dog run area. As much as my cat loves the park, there are far too many dogs either off leash or on too long a leash, for her or your lunch to be truly safe. Id love to see the day when they make a real fenced in dog area so everyone can use the park. There are bathrooms by 12th Ave. There are so many wonderful bird species, and the park is adjacent to The Presidio so there is plenty of space to explore, exercise, or scout out coyotes. Dont interact with them, but do know they are there and keep your pets safe on a short leash. Bring your camera. Parking is on the street; 2-4 hours limits.

Really amazing lake and park, it would never been as great if it was not for the hard work and collaboration of community and volunteers. Mountain Lake is a recommended place to fist and learn its history specially if you are studying ecology or something have to do with nature. Try to find a tour guid and find out the great stories of students and researchers around the lake. Try to also spend time volunteering or appreciate the hard work keeping Mountain Lake native...
