Really nice store, small but really well stocked.

Ask somebody whos big into anime and the like, I really suggest this place. Its amazing it has gotchapon, high-quality figures for affordable prices, and a somewhat okay arcade. The snacks are great and the staff is friendly. Definitely would come again and encourage other if they are fine of anime.

Lots of great items for anyones anime collection. A good sampling of Japanese drinks and snacks. A wonderful arcade in the back to play great games like initial d arcade. Also the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Plus capsule machines!

The most nicest people work here. Dude with the long hair that works in the front is like the nicest dude ever. Nice variety of gunpla and figures. Definitely worth gchecking this place out. Oh and they also have an arcade that closes at midnight on Fridays.

Ive searched all over San Antonio and have never seen a place with such a great selection of model kits (especially the gunpla). The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the products, the arcade is cheap and fun, and the loyalty rewards system is very generous! Overall a very good place to hang out or even just check out if youre interested in starting a modelling hobby!

This place has a friendly and helpful staff. Some of the downsides of this place is that items being sold such as gundam kits are ridiculously overpriced. Example, the MG hi nu gundam, in the current market this kitnis being sold for 76 dollars. This place is selling it for 100 dollars. I know that businesses have to make money but thats just ridiculous mark up. The prices of gundam kits and figures are way above market value. Also they stop price matching so do yourself a favor n just buy your items on amazon or ebay. Theyll b cheaper with shipping.In response to your post, 1st of all I was referring to the mg hi nu..not the high nu ver ka. Otaku cafe has this kit for 72 dollars and they are also local to san antonio, tx. They also have the mg hi nu ver ka for 76 dollars. They also pay rent, have employees and need to keep their doors open. Its clear that you dont know your local store competition nor aware of the market value of the kits you sell. With online stores, they all have local shops which they also pay rent and have employees. So honestly, the excuse for the over the mark up is nonsensical.

I dont think this place gets enough credit. Its been here for 8 years already and is a staple here for the anime/gunpla building community. They have an arcade as well and monitors so you can bring your own consoles or pc. Their prices may be a little higher than other Otaku shops but they are guaranteed to have what you are looking for and the staff is really cool. Ive spent 45mins after buying something just talking to them. Always a great place to go for any and all anime/ gunpla needs.

Cute little store has small selection of nice snacks and some plushies has a great selection for figurines i wouldnt recommend going there for wallets or lanyards or clothes or anything like that. It does have an arcade room which would be fun (I didnt get a chance to use it tho). By no means is it an Otaku wonderland but for the side of town its on its adequate.

This place is really not what it used to be...Ive been there when it first opened/relocated, and was all new, had lots of cute little cheap figurines, shirts, manga, and honestly, just a whole lot more. Now, the merch is mainly just big boxes of figurines, barely scrolls, barely anything. Seems to me like the arcade took up most of the space. I remember when the arcade wasnt ready, and they actually had some shirts hanging close in that area. Today, my husband and I, didnt see much. I was trying to find some Black Clover, didnt see that at all. Overall, look somewhere else if you want an actual Otaku fantasy, also just a heads up, go to Tims Oriental if you want cheaper NOT, overpriced ramune, which was $15.00 for a pack of 6 bottles only. >.> I mean even H-E-B sales Ramune for less per bottle. We also had the melon flavor.

Anime Tokyo is such a treasure to come across. looking for a pikachu for my daughter and was recommended this place from another store. They have licensed toys and Japanese snacks and drinks. They suprising thing is they have a arcade in the back of the store! hope this place never goes out of business.

I had taken my girls there. They loved it so much!. The staff member was very helpful and very kind. Very good customer service. We will definitely be returning.

They overprice the items. If you compare the amount of the figures here and to other places this is bull. One of the figures I bought was $40 and I checked at another place it was $18. Dont buy from here. You’re just wasting money.

Me and my friends have shopped at Anime Tokyo for years now but in recent months we have seen an obvious change. From the obvious big change that their cashier Justin is no longer there (honestly shame on them for letting a long time employee go while there is a global pandemic). To us he was the only reason to shop at a store where the prices are $10 over other stores in town. Also idk if he was their moral compass but as soon as he left they began selling bootleg products again! Anime Tokyo is a good store but idk how they hope to compete with Otaku Cafe moving down the street in a few months....

Good selection of merch. Good prices for merch. Has cool snacks as well!! I would definitely recommend getting a rewards account bc it adds up!

OKAY. So I have been coming here for a few months now for the arcade. Its $5 for unlimited game play for 2hrs.The arcade isnt huge but its a great deal and I basically live on the Dance central machine! I bring my friends and siblings.They also sell snacks and Ramen you can make there! They sell a ramen Called Crystal Lake and the noodles are clear and they are delicious!! Ive always been addicted to hi chews and they have a flavor here I cant usually find in the packs.I love it and will always go here!

I wanna buy everything from this store! Alot of Re-zero and One Piece items!!!!!! Its a must stop.

My husband and I go here to play dance dance revolution. They have a variety of other arcade games and also console games in the back. You can play unlimited games for 2 hours or after 7 PM for 5 dollars. Or get a day pass for 10 dollars. So its a really good deal. They also sell anime figurines.

Local mom and pop anime shop. They have a friendly staff and fun games in the arcade as well as a nice selection of Gunpla, vending machines, and knick knacks. One thing I would improve is their figure selection. The vast majority of their figures are the usual ones from One Piece, DBZ, Naruto and Sword Art Online. I’ve lucked out on their trade-ins and they’ve occasionally had some other figures in stock but the vast majority of the time they have the same stock from the same ol’ series. Also, they tend to price their Banpresto figures around $10-$15 higher than the competition. Definitely compare prices before buying if you are on a budget.Still, this is a good shop with a friendly staff and a lot going for it. It’s well worth a visit and your business!

I when In there today to by a model kit all of the stuff in there where pretty nice and in my opinion that reminds me of Japan and next week I’ll go there and if I could I would give it a 6 star and the inside is pretty nice the and people that are weebs would enjoy it and they have snacks from Japan which is cool overall it’s a Place for people who love anime I recommend coming here

Loved it (= Been following the store on Facebook for ages and been dying to go here! Sucks i found it after we moved from the area. Had such a huge selection of everything and it was so organised and clean It was semi-quiet for a Saturday which was nice. They also had a table and chairs by the tv which I could of sat at all day and brought some snacks from them if my husband and I had the time! The guy at the front was also super duper friendly, patient and really helpful even when we were asking questions and even when we were being a little confusing We will be back for sure and for the posters lol

Small store and really neat. Came here looking for a figure and then realized it was pretty old. The guy working at the counter (not sure if he was the owner) was really knowledgeable and actually gave me some suggestion on what to buy on Amazon knowing that I wont luck out anywhere locally. Id definitely come back and after doing some research, this store is probably the best you will find locally for anime figures specifically.

Excellent little place. They have all sorts of statues for any show you could possibly think of. Yes, even that one! If you need to kill a couple hours, they have an arcade in the rear that is well worth the price of admission. Ill be back.

I went here and it’s amazing for those who are looking for a cool place to have a good time with some friends! They have an arcade in the back and you can play in there with friendsThe gashapons are great! Each token costs $1 and the machines range from 2-5 tokens each. I loved going in here!

Pretty cool place with unique figurines and model kits along with a pretty quirky arcade. Guy working counter on 6/2/19 was very knowledgeable of the Initial D machines and pretty friendly. The hot water machine for the ramen cups on sale was an absolute SOLID plus as well! Will be back!

The place was better than I expected. It has improved a lot since the last time I was there.

I took my kids in for the gachapon because the pictures had rows of them, all of the machines we wanted were all empty! They have more figurines than anything else. No shirts or types of clothing accesories for anime sad.

Arcade could be better. Some of the items (mostly their scrolls and a few figures) are knockoffs. Other anime stores sell their scrolls for $20 and these sell for $30+

My kids had a blast here, from the game center in the back of the store to the selection of anime items to buy. Very nice worker. Will be coming back!

Its a Nice Place to look around but prices on New statues are overpriced when most common retailers sell them for way less, the 2 redeeming qualities of this place is for one they have an acrade which is rare and two they buy old statues and figures and also sell them so if most retailers run out of older items you may have a chance of finding them here. But again Pricing is the biggest turn off. This is aside from rare collecters items which are fairly priced.

Great environment, amazing selection of merchandise, tasty Japanese snacks and great customer service. Highly recommend to visit at least once.

As a newcomer to this place, I had no idea what II could find in there, but the awesome, very savvy, and friendly rep guided me through every fear and question until I found what I was looking for. Love the store! They even have a game section and a place to chill, not mentioning they are open till late... Although not too much apparel, this is definitely a place to check out in terms of anime collectibles.

I play DDR for as long as I want for only $5 after 7PM. A much better deal than Diversions Game Room where you have to pay 2 tokens for a single play.

They have a great selection that is ever changing which I appreciate. Some items are a little pricier than other stores but I like to shop local and dont mind it.

Store is awesome, both as an arcade and anime shop. Staff is great, spectacted the smash tourney and had a great time. Cool little coin machines make it unique.
