What a fantastic get away. Not only is the room nice and comfortable, but the service is top notch. The staff is here to make your stay enjoyable and easy which we greatly appreciated. The grounds are incredibly beautiful (see pics). We LOVED walking by and grabbing marshmallows to toast for s’mores every night. Movie night on the lawn is adorable, though we didn’t partake, it is great for families. It was even better that the fires kept going after the family activities were over- we enjoyed sitting by the fire alone and chatting all night. The cafe downstairs was SO GOOD. We expected the food to be okay there and it just blew us away. Charlie’s long bar was so fun, we had a round of drinks and pool there one night- the staff was fun and friendly and the drinks were even better. We enjoyed tons of walks, golf, and the hot tub. Our spa day was so so relaxing, and we definitely took advantage of the private hot tub, pool, and champagne there. We will make a habit out of this retreat!

Not that great. I dont know if it was because of Covid or what, but the ONLY restaurant was terrible, 2 star ambience and food at 5 star prices (I could tell everything they had was warmed up), the line for coffee was like 30 minutes in the morning, all the water fountains were turned off, we had to ask two or three times just to get maid service. The grounds are beautiful and the lazy river is really nice. We wanted a romantic getaway and this is obviously a family friendly place so take me with a grain of salt.

As a Hyatt this is a nice resort. Definitely getting dated and needs a spruce up. Very clean though and all of the staff were super friendly and helpful. Where to start. My wife and I decided to stay here last minute for a quick anniversary celebration. We booked the hotel for two nights last Saturday morning. I asked for an early check in and when I arrived at 11:45 AM, they got me in right away. They even upgraded my room for free and had a cold bottle of bubbly waiting in the room for us.STAFF: Every single person that works at this hotel is super friendly. Every single one. We spent most of our days at the pool. Logan and Ashley kept the drinks coming! And everyone from the pool bartender to the waitresses and landscapers all had a smile on their faces. The lady at check in (Niva or Nina I think) was super friendly. Each morning she would ask me how my stay was and if we needed anything. 5 Big stars to all the Staff.Rooms: I hear people say the rooms are kind of dated. I thought the rooms were nice. The beds were super comfy. Room was amazingly clean. There were lots of towels in the room, four pillows on the king size bed, and a TV that lets me watch MY netflix on it if I want. If you plan on using the pool, get a room with a balcony on the first floor.Golf: I dont play Golf but it looked like a nice coures. The Pool: This might be the best pool Ive ever been to. There is a large family heated pool that feeds the lazy river. There is also a family hot tub in the same area as the family pool. Then if you want a break from the kiddos, theres a pretty good size adult heated pool and large adults only hot tub with a waterfall. Papa Eds is near the family pool - if you get hungry or need some ice cold refreshments. The Food: We ate at the Springhouse, Papa Eds, and the Long Bar. All were good, typical hotel food. The breakfast at the Springhouse (I think thats the name) is super good. Get a TX shaped waffle. Yummy.

No refund after cancellationFor being such a large Corporation I am very disappointed. I made reservations for my husbands birthday and had to cancel because he ended up sick in the hospital and the Hyatt first said I would receive a refund. After waiting 2 weeks I called and nobody got back to me. I finally spoke to a young lady Jacqueline who figured out what the issue was. She said the refund would come between 7 to 10 days. I then received a voicemail stating I was not receiving the refund from a young man. I then called and spoke with a Margaret and she said that the check would be expedited. We began this process the first week in September and now its past two months. During these times I would think that the Hyatt and its management would have more empathy and follow through on their promises. Im extremely disappointed and its NOT about the money its the principle.

Beautiful resort, staff is always friendly. The rooms are starting to show their age and are probably a little pricier than they should be. We’ve stayed here many times here as well as the Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch (down the street), and we much prefer the amenities here (pools, lazy river, games & movies on the lawn, Starbucks, golf, restaurant, etc.). There were a few hand sanitizing stations placed around the property, but they could probably use a few more. The buffet and several outdoor bars were closed while we were there (July 2020), which was disappointing, but understandable.

My wife and I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa over the Fourth of July weekend and we had an absolutely fantastic time! The hotel is beautiful and is tons of fun activities and delicious food. The resort is beautiful and is huge! The interior lobby as well the guest rooms were very nice. The rooms may not have been the newest but ours was very spacious and when youre at a resort like this, youre not going to be spending much time in your room anyways. The resorts water park, consisting of several pools and hot tubs, a lazy river, beach area, a long (and very fast and fun) water slide and the flow rider (surfing), is an incredibly fun place to spend your days no matter who your are or what your age is. Its tons of fun! The resort also had a tennis and basketball court, bike rentals, a very nice looking golf course, an incredible spa (Ive left a separate 5 star review on that) as well as a nature trail. The resort also had several nice shopping options with a General Store which carried snacks, souvenirs and anything else you may need. The General Store also had a full service Starbucks where we got a quick and tasty breakfast one morning. There was also a Resort Store which was a boutique clothing store where my wife got some very nice items on sale and there was also a store at the spa which also had some very nice goods. The resort had tons of fun activities as well! Im not sure if they had more because it was the Fourth of July weekend but they had lots to do. A lot of the activities were family focused but we still enjoyed them anyways and we dont have kids. Every evening they would have a beer garden (which was very tasty!) with live music which was very fun. They also had smores every night as well as a nightly family movie on the lawn which we had fun with. They also had other activities like morning jogs and nature walks, a holiday golf tournament and laser tag in the ballroom. The dining was top notch. We ate several times at the Spring House Cafe which was excellent (I also left a separate 5 star review on this restaurant). Their poolside options, Papa Eds and Vinces Watering Hole were great as well. Papa Eds had your standard poolside fare (with some healthy and vegan options as well) and Vinces had some great Italian options with pizzas and salads. We didnt try Charlies Long Bar (take out only) and Antlers Lodge was closed due to COVID.The staff was extremely professional. I want to give a shout out to Guy who provided excellent service with helping us with our luggage. I also want to give recognition to Michael, Trudi and Juan at Sringhouse Cafe and Megan and Mandi at the Windflower Spa.If you are a Hyatt loyalist like we are then this is an incredible place to redeem your Hyatt certificate nights or even points as its an excellent category 4 property. Im not sure you could get a much better use for your certificates than at this property.I want to leave one last comment regarding how the hotel handled the COVID pandemic. Capacity was capped at 50% and even on the holiday weekend it was far below that so we felt like we had tons of space to ourselves and some areas we had to ourselves. The staff were always wearing masks and they really enforced that guests wear masks indoors as well which I thought was great. They even had an employee whose sole focus was spraying down the rental bikes (which are super fun!) after every use. Overall, I think they handled this crises extremely well and we felt completely safe.

The resort is nice but it is due for a major exterior and interior refresh. Most of the resort restaurants are closed because of Covid and that makes sense but we had a hard time finding food other than junk food. We left the resort for our meals. The Texas pool hot tub was broken so it was not hot at all and they didnt have the pool heaters on high enough so we didnt really swim. We asked the kids working the pool area and they blew us off so we called the front desk about the water being cold and it was to be fixed the following day. Disappointing.BUT the real star of the resort is the spa, highly recommend getting a massage there, ask for Ana.I plan to go back only for spa treatments.

I do not know where to begin. First and most importantly my poor toddler had a huge scare when a roach the size of her hand crawled on her in bed. I immediately called the front desk to report it. They took about ten minutes to respond and they did nothing to change our room. Secondly and least important the hotel itself is nothing of what it seems online. The rooms are very outdated and the hotel itself is overpriced. Room service is not offered during the stay and yet the price includes cleaning. Im disgusted with this property and I would have never experienced this at a Hilton. My recommendation do not book here.

Not as nice as the Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch. Beds were not comfortable, floors were not very clean, bathrooms by the pool area are not well kept. This resort is like a 3 star hotel. Nothing beyond that really. Not worth the cost. The lazy river is short and too slow. The Flow Rider is really fun but its 30.00 per person in a 30min session that can have anywhere from 1 to 5 people splitting the 30 minutes. Doesnt make sense and is too expensive. Basically you could end up paying 30.00 for 6 minutes of ride time. Really? Why not max it at 3 people or just charge 30.00 for 15 minutes all to one person?

More of a review of the visitors part of the hotel and the Easter Buffet. Came here for the Easter Buffet and pretty nicely organized parking starts the entry into the place, the resort itself looks great with nice staff. The buffet is well organized (except for a pushy woman who insisted we step out of the line to pay and go into the bar area to pay where for the life of them they could not get the split straight! But at some point they gave up and did something). They really have the seating system down pat where even when the room is pretty packed the lines never seemed long. Seafood was well cooked though I wish they had real butter to go with the crab, but the space was festive, food reasonable and service slightly awry but friendly. Would come again to stay and try other options.

The hotel room not very clean, furniture was scuffed up, and had maintenance issues. I had to move from one room due to unclean furniture and bathroom. In the second room, I had to call maintenance twice. Also, the restaurants that were open, did not provide a variety of food options. Many guests were ordering from delivery or going to pick up food outside of the resort. When I was in line to talk with the receptionist, another person was checking out after one night stay due to some of the issues I mentioned above.

Staying at resort during a pandemic requires you to reset your expectations. We live locally, so we just wanted to get away for a few days and allow our kids to have some fun. Theyve enjoyed the Flowrider surf system at other places weve stayed--and we noticed that they had one here, so we made a reservation. What they dont tell you is that its going to be $30 for a 30-minute session that could include up to four other people...so youre paying $30 for maybe 6 minutes. With the room rates that we paid...and the resort fees...youd think that you might not get charged for this. The resort itself is fine...not five-star...but nice enough. Several things were closed due to COVID...but thats understandable. Theyre clearly doing what they can to keep people safe. The beds are horribly uncomfortable and there is some work they could do to update the facility. Staff was friendly enough. Lazy river is a bit short and slow--not a huge issue since there were so few people there...but in a normal year when it would be packed...it would be annoying.

I am upset that we were not informed that there would be no activities for the kids. I tried to be positive but realized that the day we checked out, they sent a special for buy two nights get one free. I think that would have been appropriate to offer us. GREAT ENTERTAINMENT, POOR ROOM EXPERIENCEThis is a difficult review because the grounds and the entertainment found at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort is top notch. Beautifully landscaped with bikes for the whole family available and a heated lazy river! (Granted... it was heated to 75 degrees but was still warm enough for a post Christmas float). So fun.Now here is my hang up... our room did not feel up to Hyatt quality. I’m the sheets were not soft, the mattress felt old and generic, and our shower water pressure was poor with water temps that would fluctuate. Nothing about our room represented what I would consider “Hyatt Regency.”We had a great experience outside our room but were not happy when we had to return.

This is my favorite resort in the state of Texas. This was our fourth trip and even with the precautions associated with Covid-19 it did not disappoint. Unlike other resorts we have visited this summer they were still doing many of the kid-centric activities including smores and the movie on the lawn with precautions. The lazy river is probably the best I have ever been in, it is shaded by oak trees for 3/4 of the float, has a float up bar, has a dark bottom and a rocky edge to create a more natural environment, and they are pretty Yeti cup friendly.COVID-19 Review - Great thing about this resort is you can avoid the elevators because it is only 4 floors. The resort is designed as spokes out of 2 hubs that contain hanging American flags and the elevators, if you go the outer end of the spokes you will find exterior, open air exit stairs. These stairs have no re-entry signs but that is not accurate, you can re-enter at your floor with a room key. We stayed on the 2nd floor which is the lobby floor and were a short walk and 1 outdoor stairwell down to 50 feet from a gate to the pool complex. The pool complex is large and spread out and unlike other resorts there are many gates in and out and many different seating areas. The pools and lazy river do get crowded in the early to late afternoon, especially Saturdays, so if social distancing is your concern plan accordingly. People for the most part wore mask away from the pool area and the staff enforced it during the movie. My only complaint is the hotel is starting to show some age, the rooms and bathrooms are on the small size and many of the local fast food establishments dining rooms were closed due to Covid-19.

The lazy river was the best part, was extremely disappointed that everything else was closed and we still basically paid $600 for ONE night... Might have been worth it if everything was opened, i think they should lower their prices knowing theres not really anything to do other than the river. We also had dirty towels that were not ours still hanging behind the bathroom door, and had 3 families that were served their food before us when we got there and ordered first, waited over an hour.

Super nice resort for a business conference with friendly and attentive staff. Lots of activities for everyone to choose from. Nice food and dining selections from casual cafe to a sit down dinner. Hope to get back there soon for a family vacation.

We stayed at the sister property (Hyatt Regency Wild Oak Ranch) four minutes away. With either booking you’re granted access to each property. We only visited the bar since we did not have a room there. The service was excellent and the drinks were great! Ask for The Hill Country Limeade. I named it myself.
