Beautiful park in the middle of Portland. I was worried about bringing my kids here but it offers all types of terrain and trails that have flat or steep climbs. There is something for everyone. You can walk aimlessly and still not get lost. You can get in your miles for the day while the kids play in the playground. We parked in the visitors center with no problems and sign says gates close at 10pm. Great stop during our stay in Portland.

Love this place. Dog park is amazing - big but fenced and steep, perfect for tiring out the puppy energy. Great hill for big workouts too, whether running or biking. And of course second to none city and sunset views.Only wish is that there were better sunrise views, and the people bombing down on bikes were safer.

This is a scenic, quiet place for walking, jogging, and pet exercise. There are several flights of stairs that are great for fitness buffs, and trails that criss-cross all over the hill top, with access to views, tennis courts, and Mt. Tabor Park. There is parking, a playground, and public restrooms in the park. A great place for exercise or picnics.

Mount Tabor is essential Portland, and beautiful in all seasons. Really, something for everyone here: hikers, bikers, dogs, kids -- the list goes on. Mt Tabor has hikes for every level (with fantastic views of the city and mountains), tennis courts, and one of the best dog parks around. Make sure to check out the Soapbox Derby in August.Kudos to the staff who keeps this treasure so special, clean and open for all of us to enjoy!

The best park in SE to get away from some of the more urban landscape in Portland. A nice mix of short hiking trails, biking and running paths, some more natural forest area and maintained grassy open areas. Can be crowded at times but you can usually find a quieter path away from the main gathering spots. If you want to drive here, try to park outside the park and walk in, theres often no parking available.

Peaceful walk over a dormant volcano in Portland. Though the reservoirs arent in use anymore you can still check them out and get scenic views of the city. Though its visible from almost anywhere in the city, the park feels like a hidden gem. They also have massive dog park there for our friends with paws.

This is an incredible park. Its an urban, extinct volcano! You can even play basketball in the caldera right next to a lovely outdoor amphitheater near a very nice, wooded playground that stays cool even on the hottest days. Theres miles of trails and two reservoirs. They hold the Adult Soapbox Derby here, but they also have a Boy Scout Soap Box track thats no longer in use.You can walk for hours, find weird nooks and crannies and theres a car-free day very popular with bicyclists and longboarders.

Great spot to watch sunset! Gates close at 10:00pm, so don’t get your car stuck inside! We almost did because we thought the park closed at midnight according to google. We got together with some friends for a social distance picnic & ended up staying till 10:30. We found 1 last gate open so we could leave!

Great park. Lots of paved and unpaved area to walk, run, bike etc. There are several water fountains, for humans and pets, as well as a water bottle filling station. Park hours are until midnight, vehicles need to leave by 10pm. Only issue is with restroom access. There are only a couple available. One set near some ten is courts and picnic area is closed. Another near the visitor center has no locking mechanism for the door onthe stall (mens). The nicest ADA accessible restrooms at the top of the park open to late in the day. Many people come to the park early in the day for their exercise routine and have limited restroom access.

One of my favorite parks in Portland. Its beautiful and wooded and a great place to catch a sunset or sunrise if you know where to go. Probably the best place to ride your bike if youre looking for a good hilly climb with little traffic. I do laps on a loop that starts at the lower reservoir and goes all the way to the top and back. Great place for a walk, whether you want level ground or hill climbing with the reward of a lovely view. The reservoirs are perfect for easy strolling and the hillsides and stairs will get your heart pumping if thats what youre looking for. Climbing will also yield increasingly spectacular viewpoints. The road that goes up the east side of Mt Tabor has a couple of breaks in the trees with one of my favorite views of Mt Hood (about 50 miles away) from anywhere in Portland. Some of the sidewalks and trails get narrower the higher you go, so social distancing can be an issue when you encounter visitors without masks. In more normal times, the adult soapbox derby is a wonderful spectator sport.
