Awesome Non Profit that displays Local Photographers work. Some photos are for sale, profits go to helping support and keep Blue Sky running. No entry fee, donations are accepted but not necessary. They change out photos displayed seasonally.

The Blue Sky Gallery never ceases to impress with new pieces of artwork cycling through there is always something to look at. Each piece feels specifically selected to compliment one another. The space while open and well illuminated lacks a sense of spatial intuition that could be improved upon. It is an experience I wont forget!

I love Blue Sky and am so thankful that they continue to be such a prominent part of the Portland art scene. The Robert Frank show was amazing. The J. Fredric May show is amazing. Every month my eyes and mind are treated to more great photography. Thanks Blue Sky!

Awesome little gallery with powerful prints and a small but dense library stocked chock full of awesome reads. Picked up their 2011/12 catalog and would love to eventually show some of my work there.

Blue Sky is a photography gallery with thoughtful exhibits of large works. One of the latest exhibits featured photos of women draped head to toe in ethnic fabrics...hiding their indentity and intriguing you at thesame time. On my latest visit I particularly enjoyed the drawers of work by different local artists. You open any drawer in this room and its full of work by a particular artist. One person had decorated objects with photos of faces and bodyparts...very surrealist. In the same part of town as Powells books.

Drove down from Seattle 4-18-2015 to visit photography galleries in the Portland area. After visiting several It appears that Blue Sky is the main gallery. An interesting contemporary space which is capable of staging several exhibitions at once due to the layout as well as a small library with photo books galore.. The shows I saw where both engaging and well positioned in the space, sometimes a rarity in galleries. I wont commit of the shows themselves which I enjoyed, I walked away with thoughts I hadnt had when I entered and thats all art can do on a base level. When in Portland visit the Blue Sky Gallery to get a sampling of Contemporary Photography, well worth the journey.
