This ranch was very far from my resort. It’s very difficult to reach anyone to make a reservation. So we took the ride out there on the Disney Buses. We tried for days to get through and didn’t want to miss this. Horseback riding at Disney is a wonderful experience. They provide you with a helmet.

Whoa! Since we last visited this little ranch hidden in the back country of Fort Wilderness campgrounds, it has grown into a new stable. How MAGICAL!! From the old stable to the new stable what a difference. It is very airy and open. The displays are better lit and a bit more on the open side. Definitely a place to visit when you visit Disney World as a whole. You may not spend a whole lot of time at this location but something worth seeing if you want to see the horses used in the parks.

This newly redesigned area houses a huge horse and pony stable. They allow visitors at no cost (yay!) in certain areas of the stable during certain hours (it was 10-5 while we were there). You can see (but not pet!) the beautiful horses. There are Percherons, Belgians, Clydesdales, Shetland ponies, just to name a few. The staff are there doing their stable duties but are more than willing to talk with you and answer any questions. There is a restroom there and a small room that showcases the history of the horses and Walt Disney. This is also where the famous Walt Disney Calliope is kept. You can press a button and hear it play. We always enjoy visiting these majestic horses while we are at Fort Wilderness.

Super fun activity thats outside the regular Disney experience. The horseback riding is very reasonably priced and youll get about a 45 ride through Disneys conservation area. You may see deer, I did. Its great if youve never been on a horse before, its just a gentle walk. However, its a little slow paced if you have any equestrian experience, but its still fun. You cant take anything with you, but I did learn a wearable camera might be ok, it just cant interfere with your hands. Overall its fun and I definitely recommend trying it.

Pony rides are $8 it is only one mile so maybe 5 minutes but it was nice the only thing is that I think the worker should walk the pony and the parent should be allowed next to the child just in case during the ride. My older kid who is 12 yrs old was too tall for the pony so he would have to ride the horses which run about every hour but those are $55.

Awesome that you can go see the horses that they use during shows and events on Main Street. One of the horses being most known for the Headless Horseman ride through the park during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. It’s just really cool to see them on property and that they are always out and about at the Campground.

Horses were very tame, didn’t do a single unpredictable thing, but at the same time listened to comands. Great horses and staff. Saw some deer, too. Simple line trail ride, not too exciting.

I was looking forward to this ride and was very much let down when they cancelled because of a rainy forecast... It didnt even rain. They ask you to report you weight (that part I get) but beware they dont believe you cuz they make you stand on a scale. Insulting.

Came here to get my kid onto a horse and it was really easy. They have a platform to make it easy to get on and off the horses, and the horses have been doing this for so long it would be really difficult to get one to do something different than what they are trained to do. We had a good time.
