This show has to be one of the best things that I have seen in all of the Walt Disney World parks!! Its a great story, the performers were extremely talented & the music was awesome!! Great acrobatics! I was so impressed! I definitely would like to see it again the next time I visit. They have shows throughout the day but, I would definitely recommend that you get a fast pass before you go. I had one & still had to wait some. The stand by line was very , very long!! Dont miss this show!!

What a show! Live performers mixed with animatronics for an acrobatic, colorful, musical story-telling. Its not Cirque du Soleil but it is entertaining and fun for all ages. Everyone in the audience was smiling after the show. I recommend Fast Pass for this one but regardless, dont miss this show!

Always a fun show. Stadium bleacher seating. The gymnasts are quite entertaining (monkeys). Note: giraffes make a soft bleating sound similar to a sheep.

The cast was terrific in the 6:00pm show on February 3rd! The music & singing was Awesome, the supportive cast was so fun & interactive with the crowd and the choreography for dancing & gymnastics was fantastic. The grumpiest person in our group left with the biggest smile on his face. I highly recommend this show for all ages!!

This is a pretty decent Circus type musical show to see in Animal Kingdom...The singers are very talented and the costumes are colorful and Broadway quality. Paired with the animatronics and you have non-stop cool visuals in the show. Theres also dancing, and acrobatic act with trampolines and a trapeze artists. Theres a fire dancer that also puts on an entertaining skit. The performers get a group participation song that keeps the kids entertained and keeps the energy moving. Theres plenty of seating and all the seats will offer you a pretty good view of the circle stage and performing area. This is a great to hit mid-day show check out as you get sit down in cool temperatures and see an entertaining show. We were able to get in by checking the Disney App on the wait time without a fast pass. Would I see it again? Yes, if theres no line but its definitely a show to check out once if possible. Enjoy!

Its a wonderful family short show; about 30 minutes. They do run it by the hour in case you want to catch it at different times or just do other things before watching it. The performers are great (amazing singing) and its full of colorful costumes and lighting. It was my first time watching it and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely recommend!

This is an awesome live musical extravaganza that is great in so many ways. The characters are very memorable and loveable. The songs are very well performed by the live actors. There is audience interaction and they select several children from the lower rows to participate at one point in the show. This is like a circus on steroids with Timon, Pumba and Simba. There are the tumble monkeys which are hilarious and also excellent acrobats. There is a fire dancer for the darker part of the musical who is excellent. There are even elements of ballet when two actors dressed as birds perform to the love song. At one point their is wire work as the female bird is launched into a high spiral around the top of the theatre for all to watch in amazement. There are many great shows at Disney, but this is one we have never missed and plan never to miss. It is indoors on benches so a change to rest the footsies while being entertained a win win.

This is a cool show, more a sort of circus pageant on the themes and music of The Lion King, with jugglers, singers and acrobats, than a condensed retelling of the story. I think the original intent was to recycle some old Lion King-themed parade floats, but they work great in context.

This is amazing show. Interactive and always fun no matter how many times you watch it. Kids in front have most fun so if you want your kids to participate in parts of show then try to sit in front. Cast will give your kids small role to play when show starts. Most of the kids in front ends up joining in the beginning of the show. Show has ton of space so you usually don’t need a fast pass unless you are visiting peak season like Christmas time.

This was the most AMAZING show!! The progression from beginning to end was spectacularly done. They way they incorporate the audience is cute and not too obligatory (lol) but very fun! They songs were of Disney movie quality. They allow pictures as long as you take the flash off and recordings. Simply a must, even if you havent seen The Lion King. I cant recommend this show enough!

In the couple of times Ive been to Animal Kingdom, Ive never made it to see this show. Thankfully, we corrected that on this outing. The show runs about 30 minutes and they run it just about every hour during the day. Featuring arrangements of songs from the original Lion King movie along side some Cirque du Soleil style acrobatic acts and a lot of colorful and frenetic action. I recommend getting in the line about 20 minutes ahead of the showing you want to make sure you get seated in time for the show to start. The first time we went, it was right at the top of the hour and we missed the first several minutes of the show while the crew kept checking the seating space to see how many more they could let in. We went again later, about 20 minutes before the top of the hour, and had no trouble getting seated in time to see the full show. A lot of fun and a nice break in the day.

While at Animal Kingdom, you MUST see the Lion King show. Its a show that goes on throughout the day and you know its good when they offer fast pass as an option and people pick it over a ride. The production value is high. Think a mini cirque du soleil show, except with better music (lion king classics). The costumes, dancing, and acrobatics are whatd you expect. The seating is all around so not a bad seat in the house.

Festival of the Lion King at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida is a revue show performed in the round featuring select key characters and songs from the original film “The Lion King”. The show uses a large variety of performance techniques ranging from Large puppetry/animatronics to audience participation and acrobatics. The show features 4 main human characters called Kiume, Nakawa, Kibbi and Zawadi (all names with meanings in Swahili), along with Timon Berkowitz (a blend of a human performer and animatronics, similar to the Foxy bingo adverts where the head of the character has its own degrees of motion), an array of secondary performers and 4 large puppets (Simba (a lion), Pumba - A Waterhog, A giraffe and an elephant). In terms of the look of the show, it is mostly a mix of direct character costumes/puppets (for the 4 large puppets and Timon), native american inspired clothing for the 4 human performers and animal inspired costumes for the rest of the cast. The show does not feature any real sets other than the 4 floats with the large puppets on and a trampoline/stage in the center, which is where most of the performance takes place. This central trampoline however does feature basic automation, with the top of the surface having the ability to close over the trampoline to create a solid platform for performance. From a technical perspective the show uses mostly a generic rig mostly made of source 4’s and a selection of gelled par cans, though it also features a selection of moving spots, moving washes and strobe lighting. With the show being housed in a permanent, custom built theater they have the space available to stick to this mostly generic rig, and overall it works perfectly in context by giving the show a more natural feel thanks to the uncontrolled nature of par cans vs the precision gained from a fresnel or an intelligent wash. It is also worth considering that this show does not worry about spill into the audience areas as the audience are mostly involved with the performance in some way, whether it be allowing them to sing along or simply to help them feel a part of the show rather than simply a spectator. In terms of atmospheric effects the show has a low level of haze in the atmosphere which is just enough to allow for the beams from the fixtures to be visible, but it also utilizes a selection of low-lying foggers based in the floor around the stage underneath of grates so as to create a mist on the stage to cover any show utilities such as the tracks to floats move along.Overall i did enjoy the show for its blend of performance techniques as well as for its history, though that’s a whole other story. it is certainly worth a watch if you are visiting with a family, though for the older generation if you dont have an interest in musical theater it may be one to skip, mostly due to the wait times to see it.in case your wondering, i watched it twice... because queuing is what make my country great...even if this isnt my country...huh... should have thought that one through a bit more...
