This place has a lovely if not short trail through the preserve. It is well maintained, marked, and easy to follow. There are plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife and various wildflowers. The parking area is equipped with a trash can and bike rack (bikes arent allowed on the trail). There is also a picnic table near the end of the trail for those who need it. The only problem I came across was with the entrance. It has a dirt lot for parking, like many of these types of properties, but there were several large muddy ruts at the gate at the bottom of a slight incline. Smaller vehicles use caution, it is quite easy to get stuck.
Rustic trail thats very swampy. Unpaved with a lot of water hazards. I preferred the Orange County Long Branch trails just slightly down the road
I like most of this trail just like I like the long branch trail which both in my opinion is much better than the Hal Scott and is also a good connector without having to get back on 50 to 520 cutting through the wedgefield neighborhood. My only gripe with this trail is that one section of it going south was way too sandy finding it very difficult to walk through. Its like i was better off walking down co rd 13 pass the gate which I end up doing on my way back before finishing my hike and was very scenic as well with all the birds flopping around.
This trail was actually really pretty! Its really simple but you do get such an emersive experience
Good hiking trail.
Rare to see other people walking in the preserve. I love that it is so quiet, you can enjoy the sounds of nature. There is a picnic table at the very back where you can eat.
Beauty, nature, few people + free will always get five stars from me!
I love this small town and open hiking areas. The econ river runs thru here when its high.
Very wet. Recent rain has made access difficult. Beautiful natural area with high diversity.
Love this place
