One of the last remnants of what Walt wanted for this park. Not just a way to sell toys or movie tickets. Something meant to inform and inspire. More of EPCOT should be this way. Fun and amusing yes, but informative too. Do not miss it.

The attraction is incredible and can be learned, as it is very educational for both children and adults. The only thing that does not have the audio in other languages only in English, then it is a bit unfortunate if you do not know English, do not be discouraged of what you hear, however, if you do not know English, YOU HAVE TO GO is incredible!

I have quite a few fruit trees that I have planted in my yard and found the hydroponics section to be fascinating enough to ride a second time. Even without a fast pass we were able to get to the boat fairly quickly, the line said 30 minutes, but I think it was more like 18. The front row was great for seeing the sights, but row 6 was easier to hear the commentary.

Excellent ride and very educational on sustainable agriculture. This is a slow moving boat ride that has some artificial environments initially followed by actual working plant and seafood farming. Well worth the normally short wait.

As my cousin Derek refers to it, the ride with plants. A definite classic of Epcots edutainment era and roots. Although the on board cast member is long gone and the original iteration is even longer gone, its still one of my faves and a must do for every trip. Very nostalgic for me reminds me also of other Land classics-Food Rocks and Kitchen Kaberet. Anyways, so cool that 1) they harvest the food for use in the theme parks and 2) they actually still are doing active research about agriculture.

This is one of the more informative, educational attractions at Walt Disney World. You are immersed in the actual growing and raising of healthy food. It is also a very relaxing, slow paced ride. If you havent been on this attraction you need to take the time for it. We try to ride everytime we visit the park.

A great ride at EPCOT. Living with the Land connects people with the sources of their food in a world that is very disconnected with how food gets to the table. Great to see the innovation into what the future of farming may hold. This ride is great to sit in a boat and take in the different areas of how food is grown or raised.

I love this ride, though the video/narration is getting a bit dated. Yes, the animatronics in the beginning of the ride are a little hokey. Yet, the remainder of the ride, through the live gardens and fishery are amazing! Everyone in the boats always talk and ooh and ahh at the various edible plants and methods of growth. Its always fascinating to see what plants theyll have next, whether theyre the Carolina Reaper pepper or simple tomatoes hung from a ceiling like a tree canopy...

Informative ride, that gives you a little break from the imaginary life to show you different things Disney is doing to help contribute to a better world. I probably would never wait in the actual line for it but we always seem to just find a fast pass for it. Love when they theme it to the seasons/holidays as well, just adds a little of the Disney imagineering to the mundane.

Have you wondered where all these food at Epcot are coming from? I mean, it must be crazy amount of ingredients that they have to have handy to serve hundreds of thousands of people each and every day.For the ones who do wonder about this kind of stuff (like me), they actually show you and teach you all about it! This attraction is a slow boat ride that goes past their huge greenhouses and fish farm, showing us just how Disney World horticulturalists are innovating growing technique to help feed this planet. That’s right, they do more than just serve the restaurants within their theme parks! It was cool to see the “integrated Aquaculture” where fishes and plants help each other grow in a healthy way by providing each other nutrients through water. I thought it was a very interesting and educational ride that is so different from other attractions and rides here at World Disney World.

I took my grandson to epcot today. I was really disappointed . What happened to the main attractions. There was only 2 attractions that were even interesting. Kids today are way ahead of when we were young and I found the attractions to be very boring with the technology we have the rides could of been alot more interesting and made to look more interesting. The one ride that you took out with the dinosaurs was far better then any ride that you currently have.Soarin was still a good ride but you need to step up if we have to pay the big money to that park. The one good thing was the food and spending time with my family but it was a very costly day.

Review №31

Not the most exciting ride, but I do find it interesting. Science minded individuals may find this informative, but its not for thrill seekers. We ride this when there is relatively no wait. The first portion of the ride travels through some scenes showing various natural environments and mans use of The Land. The second part is through Disneys greenhouse area, which explains new agricultural and other food production techniques being explored. I usually look for what is new in either food type or methods. The conveyance for this ride is a boat and it is another ride to rest your feet on. We usually swing by this ride after riding Soarin, check the line wait and get on if 10 minutes or shorter. Dont speed a lot of time waiting for this ride.

I found this really hypocritical to be honest and really think it needs updating. Loved my time at the parks but were alarmed by over use of plastics everywhere. If you have no taste for science or agriculture, then this ride will only serve as an air-conditioned napping space. For those who enjoy an educational experience, this ride is pretty enjoyable. Some of the stuff they use, like the vertical gardens, are things that are now being used in personal homes. Keep in mind, the ride hasnt changed too much since 1982, and back then, this stuff was cutting edge. A lot of the techniques used here can be modified for your own garden (if you keep your eyes open and are handy), which I think is pretty neat. Overall its a nice, cool, quiet place to see some mickey shaped vegetables.

The next time you are at Epcot, head on over to The Land Pavilion and jump on a boat tour of Living with the Land. The winding waterway takes you through multiple hand-built sets that illustrate how humans have created various ways to plant and harvest food throughout the world. The boat then meanders through the Disney living laboratories greenhouses, where you can see how Disney is utilizing innovative techniques to grow and cross-breed their crops. There is also a section on fish farming, and how they are using the by-product of fish farming to fertilize plants, as well. Both of the restaurants at The Land Pavilion (Sunshine Seasons and the Garden Grill Restaurant) serve dishes created from the fruits, vegetables and fish harvested from these greenhouses. If you feel like spending a bit extra, Epcot offers a Behind The Seeds guided walking tour, as well; this hour long tour allows you to get up close and personal with the plants, fish and insects, as well as get a more in-depth explanation of their growing techniques and how you can apply them to your garden at home.Out of all of Epcots many attractions, Living with the Land is definitely my personal favorite.

One of two of the only old-school Epcot rides still around. It may not have the human guide on the boat anymore, but its still pretty much the same thing I remember as a kid. And its still a cool learning experience every time.Looking at all the fun and unique ways Disney is working to grow food gets me excited. And I dont know how much they still use the food grown here within the restaurants of the Land Pavilion, but they used to, which made it even more fun to learn about where your food was coming from, should you choose to eat at the Garden Grill. Its relaxing, entertaining, and educational.
