If you are visiting Disney on a heavy crowd day, this is a perfect little getaway! There is never a huge amount of people on thee island. The bathrooms are never busy. If you pack a meal, this is one of the few places that you can eat at a picnic table - which are at the top of the stairway. This was perfect for our 9 and 6 year old. Heck, even our two year old was having a blast keeping up with her big sisters. If you time it right, you can catch the Fantasy Parade with no crowd at all.

Really neat place especially if youve read the book. Our 5 year old was a little afraid of the caves and tunnels as it is actually pretty dark, practically pitch Black in some areas. Otherwise a really cool place for kids. Its also pretty shaded so a good place to get out of the sun. Also there are plenty of tables and benches where you can relax and enjoy a nice lunch without the hussle and bustle of the park.

You want to tire your kids out?Get away from the crazy crowds?Go for a relaxing walk?This is a great place for you if you want to accomplish any of the above tasks. The journey to the island can take some time because its a boat that takes you there. Considering grabbing some food and taking it to the Island and eating it at the tables there.

The best place in the park to let kids explore, play, and burn energy. Parents and grandparents will enjoy a nice relaxing sit while the kids have fun. And, they cant get off the island without boarding a raft. Gives peace of mind.

A lot of up and down walking but a nice place for kids.

Look for the cave! There is a spot where the light cant reach and its great for hiding and scaring your significant other! Haha it was a great opportunity, we actually stood face to face and they couldnt see me. The moment I appeared, their face was priceless. Such a great time.

Nice part of the park where one can explore and hike. Never crowded.

Not many people know you can go over to the island. It’s really cool with a lot of things to discover. I discover something new every time I’m on the island. There is a small restaurant on the island that finally reopened temporarily about a month ago. Hopefully they’ll open it again during the summer. Definitely a cool place to check out if you haven’t already!

Such a cute and often ignored part of the park. Its so enjoyable to ride the little raft over and explore this land with plenty of hidden gems.

No line, jumped on the raft... got to the island... walked for 2 minutes... waited for the raft back. Good for young kids and families though. lots of running around, caves, hiking, forts, exploring etc... Im certain, if I was a different person...

This is old time Disney. Like going on Dumbo. No electronics, no moving vehicles, just a cool island with a lot of paths.

One of my favorite places in the Magic Kingdom. Definitely less busy than most of the major rides, with plenty of hidden nooks and crannies to explore. Really an odd place in the context of the rest of the park, but great for wandering around.

We love Tom Sawyer Island. It’s a really neat island to relax and explore. The kids really enjoy the bride as well at the raft riverride to and from the island. They have a bathroom facility on the island and it’s typically not busy in this restroom facility.

The boat was not working so I finally took a walk through the island. It was a pleasure to get out of the hustle of the street and get into some nature. I took a few minutes to just sit under a tree. Most enjoyable experience. I definitely recommend that to relax a bit during the hustle of people in the park

Get on the boat and take a ride to Tom Sawyer Island. Your kids will spend around an hour running around the island. It can be hot in the middle of the summer even with shade. But the kids sort of made it a hide-and-seek place. So if you are waiting for a FastPass then come to the island and spend some time.

Why this place doesnt have more crowds I dont understand. I loved this place. Brings out the inner child in you when you go. Not crowded and easy to lose track of time

Have you ever wanted to relive Mark Twains classic story while feeling like an egg in a hot skillet? If so, then Tom Sawyers Island is for you. Cast members herd you like cattle onto a big raft which slowly crosses the river and lets you bake in the sun with 50 other guests. Then you are greeted with scorching heat everywhere you go, except in the caves, which all smell like urinal cakes. Not much else to say, but dont waste your time here.

This is the one place you can go at Disney World to get away from the crowd and just relax. My son absolutely loves Tom Sawyers island. Hes 12, and has loved it since he was 3. Next time we go to magic kingdom we will plan on taking lunch over to the island and eating there. I hate crowds so this little vacation from vacation is heaven to me.

A nice change from waiting in lines...once you get a ride over on one of the boats that is. The island itself is a self exploration attraction and has caves and tunnels and buildings for the kids to check out. There is even a shaded picnic area but its small and fills up fast at the standard eating times. No food for purchase on the island that Ive ever seen.

Fun place

Such a cool little island within Magic Kingdom to explore! There are several little caves and a woode bridge to cross. A few short little paved trails and interesting vegetation to enjoy. Highly recommend if you need a place to get away from the crowds for an hour or so.

Cool concept and nice place to walk around away from the hustle and bustle But I feel like there are so many missed opportunities with this area. There is a rumor that there are hidden paint brushes on the island. If you find one, turn it in for an extra fast pass. However, I have looked and looked and never found one.

Looks nothing like the book

A diverting attraction, more for fans of the Tom Sawyer book or movie. For everyone else this will probably a boring walk-through. Explore the cave, walk on floating barrels, explore the grounds. Accessible back and forth via rafts (motorized). If you are trying to see a lot of things at the park, you may want to skip this.

Totally a little boy again.

If you have kids that are possibly hopped up on one of the many treats available at the Magic Kingdom then bring them here and let them burn off that excess energy. This is the island we all wished we would stumble upon as a child. Explore it and find all of its secrets.

This attraction is what you make it. If you like to run, jump, play, and explore you can have a great time out on the island but remember to be prepared to perform some physical activities while there. I have as much fun chasing my kid around the island as I had running around it when I was a kid. The only detractor is that Aunt Pollys is no longer serving food (at least right now, I hear it may be open on a limited basis soon).

Looking for a quiet place to cool off and get away from the crowds. Well this island has caves on it and they have really cold air conditioning in them. Go check them out, just dont get lost.

Family classic, keeping American Literature alive, my children love to come here and hear the stories of Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Fin, again and again, travelling thru the caves in search of Indian Joe or Injun Jo - Fort Wilderness is also awesome

Requires a time commitment and the adventure level is only as high as your childrens imagination. That makes this attraction optional but the chance to kiss your date in privacy raises the appeal for teens and couples. The caves with kids are fun. Try Injun Joes cave and do some scaring each other in the nooks and hiding places. And dont forget the hidden escape route in the fort.

Fun to explore this island once, but afterwards youre better off doing something else.

This is an attraction like the Swiss Family Robinson tree, in the fact that its a do it yourself attraction. You get out of it what you put into it. PARENTS: if your children are restless and need to blow off some energy, this is an option. Not much structure, and they can just run around and be themselves.

Its becoming time to retire Tom Sawyers Island. Just not an entertaining attraction anymore. I havent even visited the island in over a decade cause, unfortunately, its become very boring. There is such potential to put something huge on that island.. They should really consider it.

If you want to bore yourself to tears on a hot day then this is for you. Its what I would call a black hole in the middle of the magic kingdom. Is it fun...NO! How about aunt pollys for a bite to eat..HELL NO! Do yourself a favor and dont go here and skip it!

A really fun way to burn out some energy, or just relax. Its very peaceful, and the caverns are especially fun for kids.

HORRIBLE!!! WENT TO AUNT POLLEYS PLACE AND IT WAS HORRIBLE. FIRST OF ALL WE HAD TO WAIT IN A LINE FOR 3 HOURS, THEN WE WAITED ANOTHER HOUR FOR OUR FOOD TO ARRIVE. MY DAUGHTERS MICKEY MOUSE GINGERBREAD MAN HAD SNOT ON IT, MY SONS DUMBO THE FLYING ELEPHANT CAKE HAD SNEEZE ALL OVER IT AND ME AND MY HUSBANDS SPAGHETTI HAD HAIRS IN IT!!! HORRIBLE, NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN.
