It is really fun - Ive done it now twice during the day and once at night. I almost like riding it better with a mask on since it keeps your mouth from drying out if you smile. Its VERY wind up there! Picture a wind tunnel - mouth in a dry grimace, eyes streaming....thats kinda what its like, except more enjoyable. Its almost hard to see the view due to the wind. But the view is good all the same, I think I prefer it a bit better at night. Since Im not afraid of heights (really - dont do this if you are!) its not terribly thrilling. The ride mechanism does twist you back and forth, enough to make you think you might spin around but you dont. My biggest fears were of losing my shoes, losing my mask, losing my earrings, or my contacts coming out.I like that its not so expensive (buy online for $2 off!) and re-rides are discounted. During Covid, they clean down each swing that was used between each ride and make you use hand sanitizer and you must wear a mask. The indoor ticket office is closed, so no bathrooms and no lockers. I arrived needing to use the bathroom before I rode and I had to walk all the way over to the ferris wheel to get to some, which is NOT a short walk.

(Visited June 2019) This attraction is located in the same area as The Orlando Eye/The Wheel. The tickets are a reasonable price (around $12 and then around $7 Extra to ride again). It looks fast when you are on the ground but once you are actually on it, it doesn’t even go that fast. There are nice views of Orlando at the top.

My besty G. McBickers bought us tickets and we finally went on the Orlando Starflyer for the first time. There is no weight limit for the swings and there is a seatbelt that goes across your chest and a bar/chain that locks in between your legs. The ride goes up approximately 450 feet so naturally there were a few moments when we felt butterflies in our stomach but overall it was fun. There were a few teenagers ahead of us on the ride that were twisting and turning their swings in the air and they were screaming with joy, us older folks were a little bit more conservative and reserved LOL. The view was good but it was a wee bit hard to focus on as we were moving fast and going in circles. The price was reasonable and we only had to wait a few minutes before we could go on (8 pm on a Saturday). There was a wide range of people in attendance this evening from children to seniors, all were enjoying themselves. The music was enjoyable and the lights were so pretty! Bucket list

Neat experience for the teens! Reasonable prices. The ride operator is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. You could tell he definitely wanted to be anywhere other than there. His demeanor was a bit rude and it almost seemed as if it was bothersome to him that we were there. Keep in mind, we visited during the pandemic so there were a few extra sanitizing measures in place so he could just be sick of the extra stuff required right now. Great for teens and those with no fear of heights!

Overall great experience. Ive only been on one or two other Starflyers, but this was by far the best. You really dont process that this ride is 450 feet tall until youre at the top. Its windy up there (even if it isnt on the ground lol) and you really feel the G-forces pushing on you. The chairs also rotate a bit in the wind, something you may not notice from ground level. You get some great views of Orlando as well. The ride ops were also super nice. Put this ride on your Orlando bucket list.

I visited the Starflyer a few weeks back on vacation to Orlando. What an experience!Heights dont bother me, but the smooth ride and spectacular views make this a must-do attraction for anyone! Friendly ground staff and plentiful amenities with a feel good atmosphere that is sure to turn nerves into excitement. My only wish is that it was a slightly longer flight. Highly recommended attraction on International Drive Orlando. The price is about $13 if you buy it there and $11 if you buy them online (you don’t need a printer if you buy them online). First get the ticket at the office (even if you got them online) and then wait in line (about 10min). Once you seat, it goes all the way up while spinning for about 5min. You’ll get a nice view of Orlando while having a good time.

Review №49

Quite exciting actually! I was imagining just spinning around casually high up in the air, but the swings twist in and out and it creates the feeling of falling. Great deal for about $12. And they have 50% off offer if you want to ride again. Would definately do again with new friends or family coming into town, or killing time before our escape game down the road (as we were doing).

Review №53

The Starflyer is an exciting and thrilling experience. The view is breathtaking and the overall experience was really amazing the one star I took away is due to the fact that you spin so fast (up to 60 mph) and because of that you can’t thoroughly enjoy the view; at a few moments I had to close my eyes so as not to faint. I know if it were slower I wouldn’t have felt as dizzy because toward the end it slows down and is much more pleasurable. Maybe the company can consider slowing it down a bit, my personal opinion is that most people want to enjoy the view from such a great height more than they want to be thrilled as you’d expect on a roller coaster. But overall I would try it again.

Rode during the day on my 34th birthday which was Presidents Day. Saw it up close at night a few months back. Definitely worth at least one ride to see the city from that high up. I am not afraid of heights. Its not overly fast but not all that slow either so its great for kids. I think there is a height requirement for it which was three feet and some change. You could also go back and ride in the same day for cheaper than the initial $13 ride. Cool ride overall.

Review №61

So awesome! I was excited for weeks before our trip to Orlando to do this! I’ve experienced it twice and about to go a 3rd time today! At sunset was my first experience and it was one the most exhilarating and thrilling things I’ve done in a while! The views were breathtaking and the feeling of the pull of gravity and wind made it that much more amazing! Staff are great and fun! Just standing in line with fellow humans bubbling with nervous excited energy was a great experience! Some tips for those on the fence about this ride that may help: ride at night and on the outside seat for a smoother and less intense version. The inside seat and in the middle of the day is most intense version of this ride! Height requirement is 44” and no weight limit unless you weigh more than a car BUT you have to fit in seat! I was nervous about this because I am pear shaped in size 16-18 jeans but I was fine. The seats are safer than they appear to be. Kind of bucket style with slight reclined feel and there is a small raised saddle like hump between legs and then also a locking vertical strap between lap bar and seat base, also a large safety belt like strap that goes under arms from one side of individual seat to middle. You cannot unstrap these until released by attendant back on ground. So even if you passed out of fright up there you are not going to fall out! Yet up there you feel free and not strapped at all! No cell phones, hats, sunglasses, keys, purses, bags, loose shoes or sandals allowed. There are lockers as well as bins at base for these items while you ride. I was permitted to use my GoPro with wrist strap or chest strap. Thanks Starflyer staff for this! I totally would not want to take any loose items or want others to do so because it could really hurt someone if dropped or flew off. The wind along with centrifugal force is very strong. So don’t try to hold any device. Also you will want your hands free to either white knuckle grip the chains or bar or do what I did! Full disclosure: I supermanned it and did titanic arms up there! I LOVED it and want a season pass (if they offer one)! Do something every day that makes you feel absolutely alive and scares you just a little!

Im scared of heights but, I did it. Lets just say...I met my challenge. Great experience. The day I rode was windy so, 450 up was an experience. Spinning made the views quick. The kicker is the slide pole used to secure you in the swing. Not the best feeling for me. I would think that a more secure way needs to be made for that ride. That for me is a concern. So, maybe whoever is in charge of it needs to be advised. *My view...as a recent rider, customer.

Too much fun! Almost... Lol. Its definitely one of those over too quickly situations one finds themselves in from time to time. I find it hard to relinquish all control during any part of any day. I find it too easy to do just that on these types of rides, for if, heaven forbid, something goes wrong theres little to be done to help the horrible situation. Id imagine one would wish they had a ton of fun before things went wrong. So I find it easy and you should too. Go here. Pay the rate. Relinquish all control and enjoy the hell out of the ride! Its a KoalaTea time for sure! Enjoy!

Awesome!! And, definitely thrilling! The chains holding the swings are sooo thin they seem like they couldnt hold much weight at all! But, of course, they do. The ride seats 24 people in pairs. The individual seats have a lap seat belt, a lap bar that is attatched to the front chains, and a clip point between the legs for the lap bar... there is no restraint over the shoulders. The ride lifts the riders straight up first to clear the support building and then accelerates in rotation as it continues to ascend. At 300 feet up, the swings are pushed and pulled in their arc depending on whether youre headed into the wind or not; and the wind can get pretty strong. Also, if you look up at the tower as youre spinning youll feel a dizzying disorientation and youll wonder how those tiny chains can hold. The ride then descends and seems to spin even faster about halfway down, before finally slowing to a stop just above the rooftops. The ride then drops the the riders vertically down right to the same point where they started. It really is a lot of fun, and definitely not for the faint of heart! Other than that, the staff is friendly and the site is clean, well-organized, and inviting.
