Stitchs Great Escape was one of my favorite attractions at Disney Worlds Magic Kingdom. I think it was a pretty good scary 4D attraction the water and steam effects were pretty good in that attraction. Stitch is my favorite Disney character of all time and yes for some people it was pretty scary but nothing wrong having a scary 4D attraction but I dont think it was the worst attraction ever. The real worst attraction at the Magic Kingdom is Tomorrowland Speedway go Karts now that was a pile of junk!

The ride was shut down today which made me sad. Ive been on this ride maybe twice ever and its a cute ride. Too bad it was down today

I loved this ride I am going to miss seeing this ride ;-;I would do anything to ride it for one last time.

Love it they should keep it open

Ride/show has been permanently closed as of 2019 and mostly dismantled and destroyed. To be replaced by an unnamed attraction at an unknown date.

Open Seasonally as the original attraction, the rest of the time it is a Character Meet and Greet area for Stitch. So if the Park is busy, most likely the attraction will be operating, but if it is a slower period the Meet and Greet will be open. Check current signage or ask a Cast Member which options is operating during your visit. UPDATE: THIS ATTRACTION WILL CLOSE PERMANENTLY ON 1/6/2018.

This ride is unique as it plays with your senses and imagination but it feels kind of dated. Also, it works best if the room is dark for certain parts and, last time I was there, some kid was on his cell phone, taking away from the experience. The rules for this ride should be more clearly stated and/or enforced. Its worth trying at least once for sure but if your time is limited, skipping this one is okay.

This was kind of a waste of time if you were unaware of what it was when it was around. You sat down, the lights went off, and an invisible stitch messed around with the lights and burped in your face. Hopefully it will be replaced with something better.

Terrible. Lilo and Stitch is one of my favorite Disney movies. But this is terrible. When you walk in it has a great atmosphere. Smoke, good animatronics, and more. But the show is not good. It wont be able to keep a kids attention. This is coming from someone who went on it when he was 6. They even put bars over your head. I thought it was going to be a ride. Dont see it.

The show is great for kids and adults. You get touched by, you smell, and you here stitch. Overall it is a great experience for any age.

One of the few stinkers that is rarely open. If can can visit on a day when it is, and youve seen everything else, go here. Otherwise, just enjoy stroller parking.

I recently came back from Disney World and by far my favorite ride out of all of the rides was this one. Many say its boring, others say its scary but I say it was fun and actually kinda funny. After the introduction we entered this big room which I thought was pretty cool. The animations were awesome and same were the animatronics. Its a shame Disney now opens it seasonally. Dont know why people hate this ride I mean the lines were long and full of people! This is a popular attraction despite the negative reviews. I will always want to come back to this ride.

Apparently, once in a while Disney can make a mistake - its called Stitchs Great Escape! The initial intro starts off ok, but then you go into the ship where it will be very loud and very dark with uncomfortable restraints clamping down on you for an added layer of claustrophobia. Shockingly sub-par for Disney. Hopefully this ride gets replaced with something that better represents the quality of the Disney brand.

This is the worst ride! Dont waste your time on this. We stood in line for over 20 minutes outside in the heat, just to stand more inside. When you do get in to the seating area, it looks like a ride that will spin, especially the way you get strapped in. No spinning or moving! It gets dark and Stitch escapes, runs around the room in the dark. At times it seems as if he lands on your seat and runs by. I guess Disney doesnt always hit a home run.

Should have never got rid of the Alien Encounter. I still remember it. Best ride Disney ever made . Too bad it closed because it was too scary for the kids which many parents should have not let them get on. This ride is a joke . Bring back the Alien Encounter.

Why is this still open? Its cheap garbage that was thrown together to force Disney movies upon us so that they can sell more merchandise. Alien Encounter was much better.

Our family enjoys this attraction, and we make time for it at every DisneyWorld visit! Not every ride at Disney can be action-packed. Stitch is an awesome, Disney classic, and the Great Escape is a perfect representation of his character!! And we think hes funny and adorable!

This is the worst thing in all of Walt Disney World and potentially the worst ride Disney has constructed in any of its parks. i have no clue why it managed to survive 14 years but its supposed to close this year! Praise the lord! He burps in your face and spits on you. Its not cute. And if you like Stitch, the ride will be even more insulting! I will never be able to fully express my hatred for the ride so Ill just end the review here.

Cool, stationary ride with unique audio and visual effects. It gets dark for a while during the ride with occassional lights, which may be scary for small kids. One of the rides with the least wait times.

Contrary to other reviews, I think Great Escape is fun.There is a fascinating story about the ride/shows transformation from Alien Encounter.

This is a big hit or miss ride. I like it but the alien ride before it was better. They do need to up the height requirement. Pretty Scary ride

Dont get me wrong, I love Disney World. But I do not love this ride in the slightest. The seats are very uncomfortable, holding you so tight its hard to breathe. The dialogue is loud and obnoxious, and Stitchs great escape is not so great when the fog erupts from the ride and you are poked by Stitch (the seat) quite hard in the back, and then spit on. The seat-poking is executed well in Its Tough To Be a Bug in Animal Kingdom, but this so-called attraction executed it in the exact way it shouldnt be. If youre going to Disney anytime soon, please avoid this place. Its an atrocious feature, at best.

Not recommended for younger kids even if they reach the height requirement. One of my familys least favorite thing. We actually dont do this anymore. We are locals. Youngest is five and loves stitch but hates this one.

Its not really that cool. And the lights also go out so it becomes pitch black and stitch keeps spitting on everyone! I dont like it.

Its a 3.5-star. Overall, good for children. Somewhat related to the movie. It does release certain fragrances during the show, some may find them to be pungent.

I enjoy this. It does get pitch black with stitch running around making noise for a minute or so and that usually can scare kids some. Still a cool deal and I wouldnt recommend you pass it up.

I love Stitch but I do not love his attraction. I have been going on this since way back when it was the much more terrifying ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter. You can still see elements from that like the adorable Skippy alien in the revamped Stitch attraction. This is not a ride. After you go through 2 preshows you end up in a circular room where chairs are arranged. You sit down and a harness comes down and confines you to your seat. If you are a mom who wants to reach your child it would be impossible to do so. You then watch a show based on the premise that Stitch has been captured but has escaped from the tube that breaks open in the center of the room. The harness touches your shoulders to simulate Stitch moving past you and you smell his gross burp.The part with Stitch is very cute especially when he appears at Cinderellas castle as her prince. My main issue is how uncomfortable the harness was. I really felt it pushing into my shoulders to the point of discomfort. That was before it was even hitting me as Stitch went by. I did not enjoy being pinned into my seat and felt great relief when it was over. The whole thing felt claustrophobic to me. Stitch deserves a better attraction than this. I recommend skipping this one.

This is a very fun multi-sensory show featuring the lovable blue alien Stich! I find it a very fun attraction and a must see in tomorrowland. I highly recommend this show to any Stich fan. If you have younger children I would not suggest this ride because it takes place mainly in the dark.

Too bad this experience is going... the theme is fantastic, the animatronics are amazing, and I dont mind about the smell... in fact, the closest thing to the Stitch smell is Taco Seasoning... honestly. Its too bad the reviews on this were mainly because of either the screaming kids, weak story or by the rides previous version (Alien Encounter which also seems amazing). Ride it if its open, its a blast!

I THINK ITS THE BEST RIDE EVER! i love this ride so much and i am so pissed because they are changing it to Olafs great escape. I MEAN, COME ON!!!!!! that is so stupid, it doesnt even make any sense. This show is one of my favorite things at Magic Kingdom, despite all the negative reviews. A far better show for kids than Alien Encounter was. When I see people say that this show is Frightening, Im just like Have these people never seen Alien Encounter? Its not perfect, I agree with the people who say the restraints do hurt, but they are part of the attraction! Thats why they are there, for when Stitch jumps on your seat and when he blows on your ears. And the smell, ITS STITCH! Hes an alien, Did these people not see the movies? I was devistated to hear that this show would close down soon, this show gets my rating of 9/10.

Shut it down, now. This is the most non-Disney experience imaginable. It terrifies and confuses many children, and is a bad experience for many adults as well. Wish I could rate it a zero. I would think Disney has years of guest feedback on this, they need to listen and relpace this with an attraction that fits the happiest place on earth brand.

Reading the reviews it would appear that some dont get the ride, its not for super young kids, since it was rethemed to stitch rather than the more scary alien encounter that fact is kind of lost in translation, however there are plenty warnings advising its quite scary.I love the ride, but still wish it was the original non stitch version

Oh, this used to be a different ride, but got changed to Stitch because it was too scary? That explains a lot. This is a thoroughly unpleasant flavor of kitsch. It has burp jokes; Disney should know better. It has fourth wall jokes; Disney should know better. Thats all that really needs to be said. It reeks of the desperation Disney was showing in the 2000s. Adults will be annoyed and kids will have their IQs lowered. Worst ride in MK, probably all of DW.

Replacing the frightening Alien Encounter attraction, Stitchs Great Escape! is a more humorous show than its predecessor. Expect the magic of a Disney 4-D experience, including smells, touches, and more!

A classic sit down and be entertained show/ride(?). One of my all time favorites for disney. I was super disappointed when they announced it to be seasonal, because we all know what comes after that. I truly hope it stays open, because honestly whats the point of closing it? What else would they be able to fit in that little room? Stitch is one of my favorite disney characters and I always have looked forward to this ride when we go. I hope disney gives it another chance, along with the customers. 10/10

This gets a lot of negative feedback...but it is honestly not that bad. It use to be pretty scary when it was Alien Encounter, but they changed the theme and my whole family likes the ride.

Its only a seasonal ride, they only open it for special occasions, ie. Christmas, halloween spring break, etc.. it was the only thing my boyfriend wanted to do, but it was closed. And when planning our trip, I saw nothing stating it was closed or that it was only open at special times. Very disappointed.

Super fun way to cool off. Not worth a long wait but Isuoer unique 4d experience.

I liked the movie however you really dont do anything on this ride and get blasted by stink at the end. If theres a line, skip over it.

I went in not knowing what to expect and was really pleasantly surprised! My 4yr old girl thought it was funny and not scary at all. She even begged for a Stitch plushie at the end. It is dark, so if your little one doesnt like the dark it might be one to pass up (it is pitch black for part of the show). The animatronics (sp?) were amazing! The critters in the tubes moved so realistically and the robot was really funny too. Way better than the Ariel ride IMHO. My daughter couldnt stop talking about it. You know your own kid, so dont go by all the negative reviews. If they like surprises, lasers, and outer space themes, and arent afraid of the dark theyll probably love it. The ride is full of surprises and is one of the longer rides. I hate when you stand in line for 45min to ride for 2 min. This has multiple stages and lasts a while. We rode it in the evening when there wasnt much of a line. Have fun!

The unessassary shoulder in next restraint hurts and induces claustrophobia. Preshows are better than the show.

Not for kids afraid of loud sounds or long periods of semi/complete darkness. The ride is set in a circular theater with multiple levels of seating, and shoulder restraints to keep you in place (although they will lift up if you need to exit the theater for any reason). The premise is that you are from a select group of new recruits tasked with the transport/teleportation of a new ‘level three’ prisoner (spoiler: it’s Stich). The effects include strobe lighting, audio animatronics, fog, water, and smells (pro tip - hold your breath on that chili dog burp, because it is pretty bad). While the ride does feel a bit old compared to some of the newer rides being added, it is still very fun for fans of Stitch. One thing to keep in mind: Stich is still the ‘bad guy’ in this ride, as it takes place before or in an alternate universe to the one from the movie.

I did freaking out in this ride because Im feel very scared and almost started to cry that the whispers is scaring me in the dark. This ride is very scary for me. But hey, stitch is a very funny disney character!

This ride is awful! Your strapped in uncomfortable seats that can get to the point they start hurting! Stitch burps out an awful smell that spreads around the room for the rest of the attraction. This ride is just annoying and is the worst ride to wait in line for. This ride needs to come to an end!

I was rather confused by what was happening throughout most of this attraction. Youre just sat there in the dark for a chunk of time.

I was not expecting this to be such a fun stop at Magic Kingdom. Thisbis a 4D experience utilizing sight, sound, smell, and touch. Dark at times and youbdo have a bar that comes down on your shoulders for thebduration of the experience if you are claustrophobic.

This will reopen daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM December 23, 2017, through January 6, 2018. This has NOT been permanently closed as stated on Google Maps.

The ride didnt do anything, it just trapped you in the seat and made you smell the funky breathe. It was a definite waste of everyones time

Terrible! Stitch burps in your ear and you get probably one of worst smells youll ever smell stuck with you for the rest of the day. You sit in a chair and the lights go off and you dont even move yet you have a safety belt over you. 100% would never go on it again
