A classic attraction that was directly touched by Walt Disney. There are a lot of hidden gems in this attraction. My children like to sit up front for a closer look - but there isn’t a bad seat in the attraction.

Best ride yet. I don’t understand why people don’t ride this as often as other rides. I mean come on people, this is a Walt Disney original ride from the New York world fair. I would think it would be more attractive in the eyes of kids and adults who value the history of technology, rather than that boring jungle cruise. If you ask me, that ride deserves a movie, just as all the other rides. If the company can’t think of one, just turn it into a time travel comedy with will smith or something.

This is another must see when visiting the Magic Kingdom! There have been a few minor changes in the first couple of decades, but the main points are still the same and of course the current year has changed quite a bit. The major change though was the song!! I like the old song better and was disappointed to find out they changed it! That song was a big part of my childhood when we visited here often! But it is still worth a visit. It is awesome to see the changes over the years and how each decade thinks it is the best times of your life!

A relatively fun, interesting and classic Disney attraction. The first time I experienced the Carousel of Progress was when I was 14 and I loved every second, I thought it was incredibly interesting and creative with such a nice and catchy song.I only wish that a bit more wouldve been changed or added to it over the years in which I dont think it has but its understandable why. Also, a minor issue I experienced at one point the ride completely stopped for a few minutes and we had to watch the final rotation of the carousel twice as we were simply told by staff to sit down and wait. But other than that the Carousel of Progress continues to remain a lovable and interesting attraction to me and one I cant wait to experience again in the future.

The Carousel of Progress is a classic Disney attraction! It really is showing its age, and even the updates they did in the 90s/2000s are looking dated too. But that said, its a must visit part of the park.Every time we visit Disney to go to the CoP and its a perfect way to unwind for a while and enjoy this timeless show.

Walt doesnt know what future we live in now. His future is stuck in 1985 and its a movie called Back to the Future. That last part of the ride everyone should be on their cell phones and ignoring each other. I cant get my grandma to put down her phone and tell me how different the past was. Disney needs a serious update to this ride. 38 years ago this ride was interesting, now its just sad.

Nostalgic, classic, innovative for its time. Its a great ride during the summer when its blazing hot in Florida to cool down. Many will find it quite boring because the references are antiquated for the younger crowd. Its a long show, but definitely worth the wait. I particularly enjoy the last scene where they show a depiction of our current time. I wont ruin it for those who havent ridden it yet, but I must say they nailed it.

This ride is a classic and it’s super and has some really cool old bones. Apart from that it’s outdated and, well, prehistoric. The ride was sexist and didn’t display the “turn of the centuries” in a very mannerly, respectful, or appropriate way. The story just needs some major tweets and then I think it will be satisfactory to the masses. I loved the premises of the ride and the way it spun into different scenes. I just hate the sexist stories it tells and displays to little children who are watching!

My kids love this show. I like it too. Four scenes show the evolution of household convenience technologies. The final scene, depicting the future, has apparently been updated several times, but is actually kind of behind, which makes me wonder why its updated. I would like to see the original future scene, to see what was expected way back when it was first created. Also interesting to note, is how up until the final scene, there were significant improvements to things which saved people time, but the most modern ones ended up just causing problems & consuming time. Just my tuppence.

The Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom a classic Attraction from the world’s fair designed by Walt himself. A relic of Disney that probably is in his will to never be removed. It certainly cant age that well even though theyve updated the future scene to be more of what today really is (and actually, its fairly accurate for what our current technology is capable of today as of 2018). Campy but catchy song.

This ride is charming, but cheesy.I’m a New Yorker, so we only went to Disney a few times when I was growing up. I’m sure I went on this ride as a kid but don’t remember it at all.Fast forward to 2017, I came here with my mom and we went on it. Pretty cool to see it with her since she (and my dad) each got to see it when they were young teens at the World’s Fair in NY!This is probably not the ride for your thrill seeking ten year old boy who covets roller coasters. The animatronics are a bit dated. The ride takes you through 4 time periods.Circa 1900 - I like this part, it’s fun to learn about what life was like 10-20 years before my own grandparents were born. Life was primitive back in the day.1920s - We learn more interesting facts about what is happening in the USA at this point in time.1940s - My second favorite scene after the “current day.” It’s a nice reminder of the simple life since we now live in such frightening times (mass shootings, suicidal terrorists, a mentally unstable President).Current day - According to Wiki, this was last updated in 1993 and it shows. The fashion on the kids takes me back to my junior high days, I get a laugh out of the antiquated ski boots and rugby shirt. I like this scene though, it warms my heart and makes me think of my own family Christmases with grandparents from when I was a kid in the late 80s/early 90s.This show does have a lot of history to it, some kids will find this interesting. I think most adults will get a chuckle out of visiting this attraction at least once. The theme song will certainly be stuck in your head!

Very interesting ride. Been on it twice. There is 4 seines on this ride. First seine 1900, second 1920, third 1940 (all very interesting). Until you get to the very last seine - very confused time. (I understand it is suppose to be present time, but it is very confused present time. Somewhere between 1980s and now. Animatronics dressed in 1980s clothing, everything decorated in 1980s. But there is flat screen tv, video games and voice control for the house.Looks like instead of updating “present time” seine, they just throw few things from now into 1980 seine. And voalya! The work is done. I think the reason why they don’t update this attraction, is because they going to replace it with something new.

Carousel of Progress was originally in Disneyland CA, and was brought from the 1964 Worlds Fair, with its catchy Theres a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow theme song. In 1973, it was taken out of Disneyland and sent to the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. when it arrived, they changed the song to Now is the Time. After a few more years, they changed the song back to the original.

Undoubtedly cheesy. Undoubtedly confusing as we progress from 1900 to 1920 to 1940 to ... 2xxx? I know the final room scene has been swapped several times, and the current version is actually charmingly retro itself now. Why, you can talk to your devices in the near future, kids! But I still absolutely love this experience. The spinning theater, the emblematic theme song, and the remarkably lasting animatronics are all part of the reason why. I insisted that my friend go with me, even though I swore Id be singing along with the ride. On a previous trip to the Magic Kingdom, actually rode 5 times in a row late in the evening during Extra Magic Hours. Yep, its that amusing to me.

Review №76

I dont understand the reviews that say the show is dated. Most of the show is about HISTORY. The technology that operates the actors is still current for the 21st century.Note, like most rides in Disneyworld, you are being monitored for behavior. If you decide to stand/walk during this ride/show expect the shows narration to stop and an upset voice over loudspeakers asking you to sit down. This is a rotating ride where you sit down and simply watch with AC. It is only 20 minutes so dont worry if your kid is screaming the entire time. Likely theyll calm down by the time the recurrent theme song plays again. Why is it so important to sit down? Because a rare event of a cast members death happened on a similar circular stage (based on this rotating stage) in the now defunct show, America Sings. The poor girl, only 18, got caught between the walls when they rotated squishing her to death. Even though the ride now has sensors and breakaway walls to prevent another tragic event like this, when dealing with the heavy machinery that rotates this stage, caution is best to keep everyone safe. Carrying a little one and the stage unexpectedly moving and the child falling in the dark (yes the lights go completely out at one point during this show) is something I hope never happens. So play it safe.Shut down briefly after 9/11 - it has since listed as a seasonal ride -- so attend it if you want to keep it open! Nice to relax with some AC and sing along. We all need more optimism in our lives, and this show promises a better tomorrow. I am glad I got to see it as I didnt see it as a child myself in the 70s. Fun fact - Narrator/father is the same person who does the narration to A Christmas Story.
