They keep a pretty good schedule, but the boats are quite old. The benches are so uncomfortable, to the point that a lot of people like to stand, might that be the idea? The process of getting on the plane and getting off the car is very slow. One plank, wide enough for two people. Hence causing a lot of nasty congestion in the cabin as people lined up for the funnel-shaped exit. The crew is excellent, very helpful and professional. The time has come to have them some tools to make their job easier and safer.this is the first time I go by ship in NYC.Thats so awesome

Sorry to read quite a few negative reviews about Statue Cruises but I can only go by my experience with them. First thing be aware of other cruise lines claiming to offer tickets to Liberty Island, Statue Cruises to my knowledge is the official boat & much cheaper than others from what I was able to see. Second, purchase your tickets online as to avoid waits during peak hours. Also sad to hear/read comments regarding security measures. People they do this not only for our safety but also the safety of Lady Liberty !! Come on now stop your whining & appreciate what they do !! Each & every person working on and off the boat were beyond curtious, welcoming & just so nice. The boat ride was so enjoyable, perfect weather made it even more so. Cannot wait until her Crown is open, definitely going back.. Thank you Statue Cruises !!

We bought tickets back before the pandemic...for early May tickets....of course our trip was cancelled as the state was closed down. We STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A refund!!!! They can take your money in a second but not return it. They keep telling me oh its our computers, or we are low staffed now...or now its we are back to work but its taking some time.....what.! Its almost November! Really?! Its a shame because we would have went eventually but now.....you guys screwed that. Seriously. If you can take immediate payment....you should be able to refund just as easy. Especially since New York was CLOSED DOWN so there would have been NO WAY to go! I have wrote multiple emails since April. I think almost 8 months of waiting is pretty bad......

In January 2020, I made a reservation for 2 people with statue Cruises for a boat crossing and visit (in May) to the Statue of Liberty. Unfortunately we could not make the trip to NYC, due to the Covid19 pandemic. We have been asking Statue Cruises to reimburse us ever since , but still to no avail . It is now seven months since our first request for a reimbursment of the tickets. Think twice before booking with statue Cruises during this time of pandemic , as you may have the same experience with them as we did . You will never be reimbursed!

Id stay away if theres a chance they may cancel the cruise, because they dont issue refunds or deign to respond to inquiries.I purchased two Statue of Liberty tickets online on March 10. The cruise was canceled because the National Parks Service shut the park down. I asked for a refund through the website around mid-March, and they said to look for a refund in about two weeks. I didnt receive it in that time frame, but I thought that was understandable. I emailed them on May 18 letting them know I still didnt have my refund. Their auto-reply said it takes them 5-7 days to respond. Its been seven weeks and they still havent responded. I actually thought they went out of business or something but I now see that theyve started selling tickets again, and if theyre not too busy to do that they shouldnt be too busy to issue refunds. They can now answer to the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission.

Statue Cruises is literally the only way to get yourself onto the Statue of Liberty Island and Ellis Island. Its a good idea to purchase your tickets online well in advance. Otherwise, if you are a City Pass holder, you MUST show up early in the day because the afternoon cruises are guaranteed to be sold out. The line is ridiculously long most of the time, and the actual listed cruise time is irrelevant as nobody actually catch the boat at the time it says on the ticket. The cruise process works as such: 1) Pick up tickets at Clinton Castle, 2) get in line in Battery Park, 3) go through an airport-style security check point, 4) get on a boat to take you to Statue of Liberty Island, 5) get back in line for a boat to take you to Ellis Island, and 6) get back in line for a boat to take you back to Battery Park. In all, easily half of your touring day will be gone if you decide to do this cruise. If you just want to see the Statue of Liberty, consider the free option of riding the Staten Island Ferry...

This was an inexpensive yet lovely tour. The ticket at only $19 includes the ferry, the museum tour, but not the actual statue tour (we waited too late to get tickets for that added tour). The museum is fantastic and has a cool “interactive photo kiosk” where you take your pic and then they load eventually to this HUGE wall with all the others and then move slowly to create the outline of the statue with all these millions of photos. It also shows the number of international travelers on the screen since opening. The ferry leaves the Statue every 20+ minutes and goes to Ellis Island. If you don’t/can’t do Ellis Island as well, you simply stay on and it goes on to return to the shore. We had 12:00 tickets but got there, went through security (like an airport) early, stood in line and got on. The ferry gave FABULOUS views of the NYC skyline – especially from the top level. There is food and drink on the ferry and both the Statue and Ellis Island had a cafeteria! We were there on a 36-degree WINDY day, we bundled up and braved it from the top.NOTE: There are ticket tour scammers that line the perimeter of Battery Park – AVOID! They have jackets/shirts that look like they work for the ferry/tour company and ask if you have tickets. If you say no, they try to sell you “a ticket for less than the ticket office” – THEY ARE NOT THE OFFICIAL TOUR! It is for a different boat/tour that is not affiliated with the National Park Service. Always buy your tickets on-line at the right place or at the ticket booth. Also, if you want to go in/up the actual statue, you have to get the tickets way in advance to get that (we decided to go at the last minute – so a ferry ticket was all we could get – but it was still fabulous!!) Highly recommend.

This is the only ferry service that actually goes to the Liberty Island if you want to go to Statue of Liberty. All other ferries and online cheaper deals are actually boats that go around the Statue of Liberty in water and you can view the Statue from the boat.Online website showed me tickets around $22 but the actual one on Battery Park was $18. When buying your tickets through Statue Cruises, I recommend pre-ordering your tickets online. If you do this, you can skip the ticket line at Battery Park (and at the location in New Jersey, Im assuming) and pick them up quickly at the Will Call window if you so choose. Also, by ordering tickets online ahead of time, there is more of a guarantee of being able to buy tickets going up to the Statue of Libertys pedestal or crown because those sell out incredibly fast. I ordered our pedestal tickets 3 days before arriving and Im glad we did because they were sold out at the ticket line by the time we arrived. Tickets for the crown had already been sold out until November as well.Tickets bought for the Statue of Liberty include admission to Ellis Island, the Ellis Island Museum and the ferry ride to/from Ellis Island as well! However, be prepared to wait a while in the sun at Ellis Island for the ferry to return to Battery Park.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. We pre-booked tickets to the Statue of Liberty via Statue Cruises (SC) before our trip in December. I have taken this trip before around the same time and there were no issues. However, this time, we arrived 30 minutes before our allotted check in time to be told there was a 3.5 hour wait to go through security. The queue was all the way round battery park and we could not even see the end. It was obvious that statue cruises had over booked their service. They were quick however the let us know there was an “express trip” that would have us over to the statue within the hour!! This would cost and extra $30 per adult and $20 per child (we had already paid $62 for 3 adults and a child). There we no apologies from SC staff and it seemed obvious they had over sold their tickets and could not meet the demand (unless we were willing to pay an extra $110 (nearly twice as much as the original cost))When we emailed SC all they could say is that their line was running regularly so could not issue a refund. There was no acknowledgement of the queue or any reasoning for it.I would not recommend SC to anyone. It seems all they are interested in is making as much money as possible at the expense of hard working individuals. We were on a trip of a lifetime to New York and this incident put a dampener on it.Statue Cruises should be ashamed of themselves and their greed.

Your journey to see the Statue of Liberty starts inside this historic building if you havent bought a ticket yet. Once you have your ticket follow the signs outside this building that will lead you to the white awning /building for security check. Then follow the crowd to board one of the ferries nearby. The right side of the boat will give you a good view of the Statue of Liberty as you travel there.I was very surprised at how inexpensive the tickets were for visiting Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Yes your ticket includes the ferry rides.Be sure to get on the right ferry on your return trip to Manhattan. I got on the one headed to Jersey insteadIf you end up there, follow the path that is on the waters edge towards a restaurant past the railway yard until you see a yellow awning. The yellow awning is just before the restaurant. You can buy tickets on board.Audio guides are included in your ticket price at the statue of liberty and Ellis Island. Ranger talks are worth it. Allow plenty of time to do the ranger talks and the audio tour. If you want to do both places properly, I would allow at least 5 to 6 hours. Sure you can skim the place for less time than that.

Crowded: Yes; Touristy: Yes; Herd through like cattle: Yes. A must-see in New York: YES.When you arrive at the Battery Park ferry landing, youll enter through airport-like security, but not as bad. Just standard metal detector, bags x-ray. Long line but moves pretty quick. Once on the ferry, its exciting to see the statue and island grow larger and larger as you get close. One on the island, it really is breathtaking. Yes, theres crowds and tourists everywhere with selfie sticks, but if you tune them out, you can still admire the majesty of Lady Liberty. TIP: Get the pedestal access. Its the same price as the island-only access, and it is really cool to go up inside. Skip the crown, overrated. Also, if you go up the pedestal, be brave and take the stairs. Unless youre really out of shape or limited mobility, the stairs are doable. A challenge and youll feel a little winded when you reach the top of the pedestal, but the reward of walking out the door and looking out over the island is even sweeter! Do it. Dont be lazy. :)Avoid bringing any bags or anything unnecessary if youre going up the pedestal. Theres a second security checkpoint and you cannot bring anything more than a small camera. No bags, no backpacks, no large cameras/tripods. You need to check all that stuff in lockers at the base.Bring some small bills: Lockers are only a buck or two, but only take cash and give no change.Lastly, there can be large lines to leave the island. Dont be discouraged, the line may look super long but the ferries hold an unbelievable amount of people and come literally every few minutes so theres not much wait.

4 stars when the views and tour deserve 5. The reason why, the people running the security are basically rude. The people near me in line not with me though were not listening, so I guess that is why they are rude. It is nothing short of a cluster f***. They really should hire a new security contract. The older lady working for NPS on the dock was also rude and inconsiderate. She waitied till the last possible minute to tell everyone to push forward and fill the gaps. Which had people getting offensive due to line cutting. She should of just told everyone over and over again to fill in the gaps and move forward. The ellis island has tremendous history and you could spend a good 1/2 to 3/4 day to read and see everything there. An absolutely amazing experience. Went for the Statue of Liberty, stayed much longer because of Ellis Island. My biggest suggestion is to allocate at a very minimum 1 hour to spend on Liberty Island and 2 hours on Ellis Island. The experience was wonderful and I highly recommend it to anybody regardless of age or background.Full review:Took the subway from Brooklyn to Bowling Green station near Battery Park. As soon as I got out and on to the street level a guide was there to point us in the right direction. Having to cross the street, there was another guide right there as well guiding others too. I purchased my tickets online so went straight to the security line. Saw the line for ticket purchasing, and it didnt look like it would take too long had I needed to buy them there (If you want to go up to the pedestal or crown be sure to book your tickets at least a month in advance). I mightve gotten lucky the day I was there as the security line was very short and as soon as that was done I walked right on to the ferry.First stop was Statue of Liberty. The ferry takes you in front of the statue and slows down to offer a prime photo location. Once on the island, be sure to pick up your audio tour that is free. I had pedestal tickets and went right to the entrance for that. Through another quick security check, I was inside the pedestal. Be sure to visit the museum inside before going up. To ascend, you can either take the stairs or wait for the elevator. Once outside on the pedestal, beautiful 360-degree views are available. Can get chilly up there, so be sure to bring a jacket. Spent a bit of time up there and on the way down were able to stop at an area that was much less crowded than the main island, which allowed us to take pictures again in every direction. Walked around the island a bit and then boarded on the ferry to Ellis Island.Second stop was Ellis Island. This is definitely the most underrated part of the whole tour. The setup of the island is wonderful. They have it broken into three parts: Early migration (prior to Ellis Island), the Ellis Island era, and immigration post Ellis Island. Again, be sure to pick-up the audio tour that is free and take your time especially in the upstairs section. It is unbelievable to think about what was going on in these people’s minds while they were here and trying to make it. Very emotional to put yourself in their shoes. Couldve easily spent half the day in this section. We had other plans to get to in the evening, so we didnt get to spend anywhere close to the amount of time we wouldve like to here. Couldnt have asked for a better experience.

You do however go through numerous security checkpoints that have no direction on what they want you to do and they don’t tell you until they’re yelling at you as you’re about to go through. Here’s what to do: Take everything off except basic clothes. Watches, belts, jewelry, hats, coat. Have your ticket ready to scan, there’s 3 separate places and checkpoints. It would be easy for everyone to start naked with a ticket taped to their foreheads and only get redressed once you’re taking in the view from the statue.

I had very positive experience with Statue Cruises. After exiting the subway, though a street agent was advertising the cruise, learning I have an online ticket, pointed me to the entry point. I was entered into Reserved ticket line according to the online ticket I purchased. Up ahead, another person scanned my ticket and then security checking was very smooth and pleasant for me. Then we boarded on the boat for Liberty Island. I didnt bother having AC in the boat because once it started to sail, nice breeze soothed us in the hot summer. Ferry timings are posted at the entry to/exit from the ferry. You just have to look around to find that. In fact, there is one every 20 minutes, which is great. After our visit of Liberty Island, we went to Ellis Island, another pleasant and smooth boat ride. Finally, we came to Battery Park, New York. I would recommend a friend to take this tour with Statue Cruises.FYI, I always find the street agents a little obnoxious and engaging when I use a train to subways near battery park. But its not that bad, just tell them you are not interested, they should leave you alone. Those people are trying to cut some commission by finding customers.

Police should take immediate action on these ticketing agents as it is clearly written on the board that these guys arent authorized. They were trying to block me from entering the park saying that we need to be authorized to enter & it is not a free entry, which is false & theyre able to do it only because of the inaction of the policemen sitting inside the van.Go ahead straight to the brick building as they say & do not fall prey to these scammers.Tickets & audio tour costs USD 18.50 & takes you to both Ellis Island & Statue of Liberty.Expect a nice view & a smooth ride. We had to approach an NYC employee, who rolled her eyes and slapped her head, then pointed us in the direction we needed to be. Second, this is covered by the National Park’s Service, yet it’s not free to visit if you have a National Park Pass? Ridiculous. As for the visit, I got in a long line on a Monday morning next to a sign with a symbol of a ticket & the Statue of Liberty (no words, just symbols). I assumed this was where tickets were purchased. My husband took a chance and went to a separate line, while I stood in the other. I was approached by a security guard who said that only ticket holders could be in the line. I remained in the line anyway, but when my husband returned 30 minutes later with our tickets, they told him that it would be a 3 hour wait to board the ferry. As we waited and waited, several people attempted to cut in line ahead of us. Luckily, they were all sent to the back. Eventually, a family of 6 from France who spoke perfect English amongst themselves cut in front of my husband and I. When we attempted to address them, their memory of English suddenly disappeared. A security guard told them that they had complaints that they cut in line and again, they could not “speak” English. The guard simply told them “Don’t do that again” and left. How this is even acceptable behavior from a guard is completely beyond me.Further, I witnessed many people try to flag down one of the security guards and since he could barely speak English, he couldn’t even assist them with their questions. I’m not entirely sure that this is very helpful to confused tourists (including myself). After 3 hours, we made it to security, which was an absolute mess. The workers were rude and very short with everyone in line. Afterward, we waited another 30 minutes to board the ferry. Which, by the way, if you have a Reserved ticket, you don’t get on the boat any quicker than the rest of us. Eventually, both Reserved & Flex lines filter into one line at security..making the need for two separate lines entirely pointless.I wouldn’t recommend this company. It is so unorganized and the employees are flat out unknowledgeable and mostly rude.

Absolutely miserable experience. No schedule to speak of. They literally wont close the doors and leave dock until they are over capacity. There is supposed to be a ferry every 20 minutes, but we waited what felt like an eternity before they decided to pack up and head out.

If you want to visit the Statue of Liberty, this is it. The cruise departs at regular intervals - book online ahead of time to secure a reservation if you want to climb up the statue to the pedestal or crown when you get there. The cruise itself stops at both liberty island (includes free audio tour) and Ellis Island.

3 stars because Liberty Island and Ellis Island are beautiful! The experience is incredible and worth the time/money.However, if I were rating based on customer service and employees, I wouldnt even give a star. The security and staff who were guiding us onto the boats were possibly the most rude individuals I have ever seen. The security snapped at me for not walking through the security line fast enough and the staff basically pushed you on and off of the boat.I have never experienced any such actions from staff who were supposed to be accommodating their customers and to this day I am disgusted with the way they treated the customers.Note, this was in 2017, perhaps they have better staff now?

The staff will harass you, even if you ask them to leave you alone. While we were heading to the dock, at least 5 staff members stepped in front of us to ask us if we were getting on the cruise. My dad said “no, thank you,” but they tried to get him to buy tickets. When we got to the park, a young man asked if we were getting on. My dad said no. The young man said we could get free information. Another staff member told my dad he needed a ticket to continue through the park. When he said we weren’t boarding, she said ok. The young man kept walking behind me saying “free information.” When my dad was done talking, he walked up to my dad and said “free information” AGAIN. My dad didn’t say anything. The man walked to me AGAIN and I said “I got it, thanks. I’d like to be left alone.” And he started ranting about how he was just trying to be helpful. He was trying to get my attention by saying I was being rude and attacking him. He followed us as we walked away for a bit but he eventually left us alone. This park is for the public, not for your staff to spam and harass park goers. Please take it down a notch. I would NOT go back just because of how many of your people are there who don’t know that no means no.

I have two stars because there was a 5 hour wait in line to get on the boat. I knew it would be long, the kiosk said 1h30 but I knew this was not true, perhaps 3h30, but waiting this long can never be a 5star experience. Plus, a visit to Liberty AND Ellis on a Flexi ticket is just not possible. See below.First you must go to the Castle Clinton Kiosk. This was a queue of 30mins. If you have prebooked you will need to go past the queue and security will send you to a shorter queue at window 6. Others must wait in the queue that curls around Castle Clinton.Once you get your tickets, if you have flexi you can join the monster queue. Best leaving the rest of your party in that queue whilst one buys tickets.Once past the flexi flag marker the line became a crowd and others from behind were told to move up to fill the gaps at the side and in front of you. After moving an inch every 5 minutes it was painful to lose do much ground through disorganisation near the finish line.Nonetheless, we were all on 45 minutes after that.We went at 10am and were on the boat and moving at 3pm. Start to go downstairs before the boat docks at Liberty to maximize your time. The museum st Liberty was worth a visit. Avoid the cafe on this island as the queue for hot food is massive - unless you want something else, then you can past the cashier, grab your item, then go straight to the cashier. I had a feeling many in the queue didnt know that and thought it was all leading to the food and cashier. The last boat to Ellis from Liberty was at 3 30pm so unless you prebook a 9am slot and get in queue for 8.30am you are unlikely to get to see it. You may need to reserve days in advance online but its the only decent option if you have the time. We didnt.Consider going via New Jersey if you cant reserve as the flexi queues are much shorter.Take some coffees nd food for the queue. There is a Starbucks nearby Battery but the queues are around 30mins. Toilets available at Bowling Green Metro (no queue) or an outdoor concrete building near the blue and red queuing flags (no queue for men).Hotdogs, crepes($5-7) and small hot drinks ($2-3) sold around this part.

Unfortunately as a result of COVID19 I had to cancel my tour with Statue Cruises. It has now been 4 months since my original cancellation request, 3 emails and an attempt to call with not a single response or cent returned to date.I am in Australia and its impossible to keep trying to call as they are only open from 11am - 5pm which is 1am - 6am Australian time.Very disappointed in the lack of communication and I am now inclined to NOT book with them when my family and I do rebook to come to the United States if this is how they treat their customers.

Doesnt state anywhere on their website when they close. Only shows ferry schedule. Got there for 3:40, with their schedule showing the last ferry departure as 4:00p.m. The employees their stated we had to exchange our citypasses first before we can get on the boat. (This information is not mentioned anywhere). Get to the booth and the booth is closed, with no way to exchange the ticket. I knocked on the window to as I still heard a conversation in the booth. An employee stepped out and threatened to call a park ranger on us. Very disrespectful. There are no times listed on the website for the ticket booth times or the exchanging of tickets. It was our last day in NY.

The only boat ride that will dock in the statue of liberty. Be careful with scammers around the battery park. You just go inside the castle where you can buy tickets for the statue cruises ($18 approx) and fall in line for an airport type security check before boarding the boat. Seats are available inside but it has an open dock area which you can take pictures and see the beauty of the liberty.

Pretty long lines so you will need patience to get through to the ferry. The security area is TSA-style but, believe or not, the workers are even more rude than TSA. Horrible employees who were short and disrespectful to everyone there. The ships aren’t too bad with reasonably priced food, non-alcoholic drink and souvenirs. The captain was rude too. He screamed out the window to the other employees multiple times right in front of the customers!!

Get ur ticket ahed of time, arrive early, get in the reserved line, and then go through airport like security check. NOTE: There are two securit check point lines side by side, scout them out and get in the reserved one if u bought tix ahead of time. Lots to read on ellis island, so go early if possible.

As we approach the ports there were a lot of venders trying to sell us tickets for the cruises from 30 dollars to 45 dollars + tax. There was even one vender who told us to go away if we are not buying tickets for him. We continued to the only building around that area.Statue cruises was the simplest and cheapest 18+tax adult and 9 until 12 years old. ( the others has the same price for everybody ) we got to see what we were supposed to see and all was fantastic. If you are not looking for a fancy trip this is what you should do.

I took my class on a trip to Ellis Island using Statue Cruises and with the exception of booking/getting tickets, the experience was pretty terrible.Upon arrival to boarding, you are herded into the security area like sheep. There were four separate lines that merged into one to get into the security building. It was a struggle to keep my class together and many people got separated from the group.School groups or large groups in general should have some kind of separate line to maintain order.Once inside the security building, things were pretty painless but the lines were extremely long. Finally, on our way to Ellis Island, the boat stops at The Statue of Liberty, drops people off, and picks people up before heading to Ellis. I think there should be two separate boats to go to the destinations.Overall, traveling with a large group of students was a headache and took almost two hours. I hope that future trips run more smoothly.

Took the Staten island ferry to view the statue of liberty - twice in a day. Loved it sooo much. Amazing views and experience. Tip: go out on the top deck or towards the end of the boat for a beautiful view of the city and the statue. Best part - no charges at all.
