This tour was a total blast from start to finish. I just moved to Brooklyn and this was a great way to explore my new neighborhood. I really appreciated the locality of this tour. It authentically highlighted Brooklyn and went beyond the tourist spots to gve us a taste of what Brooklyn really has to offer. Our tour guide, Sasha, was absolutely supurb. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the various spots that we visited along the way and created an environment where everyone felt welcome and safe, even in the middle of a pandemic. I would highly recommend, no matter if you are visiting NYC or have lived here for years. And when you do, make sure you take it with Sasha!

Really enjoyed our Tenements, Tales, and Tastes tour with Urban Adventures this past weekend. Our guide, Alex, was super friendly and informative about the history of immigration in NYC as we walked and tasted our way from City Hall (Dutch Stroopwafel) to Chinatown (Dumplings) to Little Italy (Prosciutto Cheeseball) and the Bowery (Knishes and German Pretzels). Great way to get some insight into the changing scene in Lower Manhattan and be introduced to some interesting places and locations you might not have found on your own!

Our experience with Sasha for the virtual tour of Revolutionary NYC: LGBTQ+ Rights and the Power of Protest in The Village was fantastic! He was insightful, entertaining and knew fun details and deep background knowledge about each area and its history. He even gave us a list of fun shows/movies to watch to make this experience come more alive. Well worth the trip.

We took the City Lights Sunset tour on a chilly day but had so much fun! Living in Manhattan for several years I rarely go to Brooklyn but Im always ready for an adventure and to learn something new about our fabulous city. Melissa was our guide, she was so sweet and thoughtful-snack packs plus hand warmers (if we were too chilled)!! She took us to parts of the city we havent been, beautiful views of the city and we loved the ferry ride. Melissa was knowledgeable and we will be booking with her again when we have family and friends in town!

We did the food walking tour through Brooklyn with Josh and it was absolutely fantastic!Josh was incredibly knowledgeable and had a lot of great insights into the restaurants and the area. Definitely something you dont get on a self-guided tour. The food was obviously amazing. Each stop was unique and added to the overall experience. For the most part, these arent places youd think to go to, so it was cool to get a really off the beaten path type of experience.

I took the Craft Cocktail tour with a group of friends and we had the most amazing experience with Brian! Were local to NYC (just over the bridge in NJ) so it was really surprising how much we learned about a city that we have all visited millions of times. The bars on the itinerary were great options to really get a local feel, it was definitely not just a loop through tourist traps!! And the drinks were REALLY good! (and a real, full-size cocktail, no sample sizes!) Not only do I plan on taking another Urban Adventures tour, but the spots we visited on this trip are definitely worthy of a return trip so I can stay longer!

After a week of working in NYC, I signed up for the cocktails tour - and wasn’t disappointed! Jillian was a fabulous host and guide - she was funny and full of insider knowledge about the area and the bars we visited. I truly enjoyed my tour, and of the three tours I took during my time in the US (two with Urban Oyster), this was was by far the best, with the most knowledgeable guide. Thanks Jillian!

We went on the lower east side food and culture touring with Jillian. Most of the food was unimpressive but we really enjoyed walking through the neighborhoods and hearing the stories from the people that lived there. It was a very cold day, but Jillian did her best accommodate with bathroom stops and making sure to get us inside and to tell the stories from somewhere warm. The only really good food was the chicken empanadas! So good!!

I would highly recommend the tour Tenements, Tales & Tasting. Our tour guide Brian was very impressive with all his knowledge of history of the culture that first came to America and how they lived and worked. The food was delicious! It was a great 30th birthday gift and experience for my son & family.

This is such a unique tour and my guide, Jillian, was a delight to hang out with! We spent the afternoon exploring Greenwich Village and not just its history but some of its cool & unique hang out spots, ones that might not be found in a typical guide book and hearing related stories. As someone familiar with the city and the Village this was a great way to scratch beneath the surface and further experience this delightful neighborhood!

The Urban Adventures NYC Tour Combo 1 was the highlight of my NYC trip. I learned so much about the city, and got a glimpse into the real New York experienced by its residents every day. A big part of my satisfaction with this tour was our tour guide, Jillian. She was simply delightful, and very adept at making sure everyone on the tour was having a good time. I will definitely request Jillian for another tour the next time Im in NYC!

This was so much fun!!! Id never spent much time in New York City, and was feeling a little overwhelmed about what to see and do. I took the Urban Adventures tour of Greenwich Village and it was a great way to experience a variety of local establishments -- and try a bunch of delicious food/drinks:)) My tour guide Jillian was awesome, and I met a bunch of other cool people on the tour too! If youve never been to the city, or even if youre a New Yorker who wants to learn more about the local history/culture - would highly recommend this tour!

The tour of the west village has been awesome for 2 reasons: 1 Our guide Jilian was fantastic, very kind and pleasant. 2 The tour was very great, with places that usually do not appear in the guides, where you can directly immerse yourself in the heart of LGTBIQ+ movement in NYC. Notable places are: Bar Julius, The StoneWall, Big Gay Ice cream and Maries Crisis where we could enjoy a piano bar where all people participated with a very high level of choir

I took part in the New York Times Journeys Greenwich Village. This tour was expertly run and lead by a highly skilled and capable tour guide. As a solo traveler, Jillian made me feel very welcome and part of the group. I learnt so much about the Greenwich area and the stops at some of the more out of the way food places were brilliant. A highlight was definitely the Brazilian sweet treat Brigaderios, which were lovely. Thank you so much again and I will definitely be back to experience different tours throughout NYC.

Excellent Tenements, Tales and Tastes TourOur guide was excellent: Spirited, funny, informative, and kept us moving along and engaged. We were the only New Yorkers in the group, and still heard lots of new information. This tour is good for people from outside of New York and for New Yorkers, as we heard information that was new to us and found numbers of places we had not been to. It does take a special talent to get people engaged first thing in the morning, which our guide did.Not a criticism as much as a comment on scripting: At times we were told this is the best ______ (market, mozzarella, bagels...) in New York. These absolutes dont work for New Yorkers. As with probably most of their tours, this was punctuated by eating. Definitely a good way to get sugar into the system and to engage people. It also sets up social situations (at the dumpling place and at the beer hall) where we sat at a table with other participants and got to talk. None of the food except the beer hall pretzels was very good. I found the prosciutto better than the mozzarella of better quality. The Germans on the tour gave a thumbs up to the beer in the beer hall (which you have to pay for yourself - which is OK). I would not take this tour for the food. That said, the tour guide’s spirited storytelling, leadership and bringing us together to engage each other made this a wonderful event and worthy of the highest rating.

We took the Lower East Side Food Tour, and in spite of the pouring rain had a great time. John, our guide was knowledgeable and energetic and upbeat. We ate Chinese dumplings, prosciutto and mozzarella, knishes, and pretzels as well as a Dutch pastry, while getting an ethnic history of these populations in New York. I’m looking forward to using this tour group for other tours and other cities.

Hamilton Happy HourThis was our first tour here in NYC. We had no idea what it was really about but it had happy hour in the title so assumed it had beer at some stage. John our guide was great and we made our way around NYC financial district learning about Hamilton and wall street. John was knowledgable and enthusiastic. By the end we were glad we did the tour, and as it turned out was a good tour to do as the name hamiton popped up a few times over the next week, which meant we knew what they were talking about. Thanks John.
