I had a great time touring New York with the service in a timely manner as I had just one day at hand. The tour started off on time and both the driver and the conductor were people with a pleasant personality. They stopped at the right place and right time especially for the Stanton island ferry which I could take in time.️ This place has:Yes=Ramp access.Yes=A wheelchair-accessible entrance.Yes=A wheelchair-accessible restroom.Yes=A wheelchair-accessible seating.Yes=A wheelchair-accessible parking.Yes=A wheelchair-accessible Elevator.

When riding the bus for sight seeing you get to see lots of things. Here are 369 photos out of probably a few thousand I took. Its a must do while in newyork because it covers so much ground that otherwise would he seen in a weeks time if you had to walk or take a taxi. Its cost only 100 for my entire family which was a deal from the midtown hilton.

They used to be good but not anymore . I give them 4 stars because of the guides! Waiting 45 min for a bus was too much and then we waited another 5 min to open the doors, meanwhile 8 buses from Top View past us.You Need More Buses fast!!!! Make sure you get to the ferry, its just an amazing experience, they simply take you to the Hudson river to see the New York city and New Jersey side too. Youll see a quick water tour of the statue of Liberty. Damien, one of the crew officers was simply amazing and helpful with everyone, speaking Italian French English and a little bit of Japanese.

The Sightseeing Ferry was not how it is shown on the website -- it looks like a hospital ship, its dirty, smells bad, and for whatever reason the seats are few and either far from the windows or facing against them (so you get to see the ferry interior.. great). We bought a three day pass which included Buses for uptown, downtown, Brooklyn tours, Night Tour and Hop-on, Hop off cruise as well as a ticket to the Museum of New York City. We added the Statue of Liberty Tour, Top of the Rock and the Museum of Natural History. We went early September and there were hardly any queuing for any tour or attraction. It was straightforward to exchange the voucher for tickets and every Grayline operative we met was helpful, friendly and professional. The bus guides vary in the way they conduct their tour and the headphone jacks do not always make a good connection, meaning a change of seats, if there was a space. Overall it is an excellent way of getting a three day introduction to New York. We would highly recommend it if you are visiting for the first time. Well worth the savings on buying the individual tickets for attractions.

A plus is that you get to see other attractions on the way there .It does get quite crowded , make sure to arrive early so you can be amongst the first on the boat to choose a nice place to sit .A suggestion would be to put a tip box somewhere where everyone can see it instead of the numerous prompts to tip .

Good service. Good infrastructure. Good prices for what you get. The only way to get to know New York in a couple of days is these tours because the city is so big that walking is just gonna get you exhausted. And moving by car is really painful with all the traffic. At least scratch the surface. Big Bus has way better service and guides. But Sightseeing offers more for the same price. At least the cruise is better. But the buses are pretty much the same. Worth it.

You have to do a bit of digging, make some false starts before you get the system down. Like finding out that the ferry tour only runs every 2 hours. But all in all, it was a great deal. We did the 3-day, 5 attraction package. Totally worth it. We only got 2 of the 5 bus/ferry tours in (because it was just too bloody cold in NYC that weekend), but those 2 tours were great. And we saw 5 wonderful attractions. Not only did we save money by buying the package, it was so easy to use the screenshots on my phone for entries (you still go to the ticket counter, but the pre-purchased pass expedites the process). Im so glad a friend of mine recommended to me to look into these tours before I went to NYC. And I pass that recommendation on. I just suggest that you study the routes and the operating hours carefully before you go, to maximize your experience and minimize your frustrations. But if you plan it right, I guarantee it will be a highlight of your NYC adventure.

So this bus tour was horrible. We went the Downtown route. There was only a driver and no tour guide. They give you earphones but the automated audio tour guide is so glitchy the sound is constantly squeaking loudly. There was no on bus WiFi as advertised. The audio tour guide gave some good info and historical tidbits but would play elevator music in between checkpoints that made it less enjoyable to listen. Due to the traffic pace the audio would cut off and start the next checkpoint so you wouldn’t hear the whole thing. Overall this was very boring and disappointing.

The boats left on different times than they indicated on the website. The last boat of the day was cancelled with no warning so we were very lucky that we decided to go back early otherwise we would have missed our way back and also the most interesting part of the tour. Be there early because the boats leave every hour and a half and they fill them up completely so that you might not have a place to sit.

Theres a lot of pros and cons when buying this pass. It is very worth your money, however its a bit difficult to understand in the beginning and the people who are out in the streets wont help you much. The first question they will ask you is if you have a ticket. If you say yes, they wont want to help you and theyll move on to the next person. I understand since Im sure the amount of tickets they sale depends on their income, but come on... NYC is VERY crowded. Theres a lot of traffic and a lot of people so dont expect to get to your destinations quick and if you wait by a bus stop dont expect the bus to get there in 15 minutes like they promise. The buses are clean and people get on to sale you cold water once in a while. The tour guides were nice and informative. Its worth buying if you intend on visiting many different attractions. I dont recommend it during summer time since the bus has no working AC and you will be burning out there. Overall, the service could be better and theres a lot of things the company could do to make tourist more comfortable.

A group of us stood for over an hour in the rain watching bus after bus go by without stopping. We called about it and were told it was no longer a bus stop. It’s on the map, on the web site and we saw a bus stop there before we reached it. The driver drove off before we could get to the stop. Our only criticism was the guide of the night tour who seemed to be more excited about the money involved with the city than some of the places we passed. My partner and I decided to visit NYC this past weekend. I lived there for several years and because of this the more touristy elements of the city dont usually appeal to me but we decided to give the tour a shot.I am SO GLAD WE DID. Allan France, our tour leader, was the absolute bomb. When you get on one of these buses you do not expect a Vietnam vet/professional architect to be the guy standing there with the microphone. He literally knew every bump in the road, the history of every building we passed, great stories about the people and places. I think he literally couldnt speak fast enough to keep up with his incredible knowledge base because he was also a pro at being charming, funny, succinct and very pleasant to listen to. So pleasant, in fact, that we did not get off the bus - we stayed on specifically to listen to him.*Id also like to mention that Winston, our bus driver, was a BAMF. I cant imagine driving that double-decker monstrosity around the city and he made it seem easy.DO THIS, especially if youve never lived or visited the city. Even if you live in the city, go find this guys bus and talk to him. Completely worth it.

Gray Line and Sightseeing NYC are one in the same. The buses I was on looked nothing like the one in the picture on this page. They were both old, dirty, and in disrepair. It was 25F out so I wanted to use the hop on hop off service in NYC. The first bus I was on had little if any heat and all of the windows on the lower enclosed portion were blocked by advertisements that were facing outward. Not the type of decals you could see through, they were solid and you couldnt see anything. YEP A SIGHTSEEING BUS THAT YOU COULD NOT SEE OUT OF! After being left standing in the cold as a bus failed to stop at my stop and later when the tours app was down I was over dealing with Gray Line. I gave it another shot a couple of days later to find the same situation with a dirty closed in box from hell. How in the hell can you have a tour bus with the windows blocked so you cant see out? There is the upper dirty deck but that does little for handicap people who cant get up top and it does not work well when the weather is bad. I purchased a four day pass that included attractions and it was a total waste of money. RUN LIKE HELL...DO NOT USE Gray Line or NYC SightSeeing Tours.

We did the Empire State building, Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller Center, and the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. We used our attraction at the Empire State building. Then at night we used our VIP to jump the wait list at the Hard Rock Cafe; the wait was 2.5 hours but we were seated in 20-25 minutes. TOTALLY WORTH IT! Do not use this service it’s a rip off!!!!!!!!!We paid for the Flexi Pass online, this is where you choose how many attractions you would like to see and have 30 days to use your pass. We paid $119 for 4 attractions. We used the pass for the Guggenheim and Observatory, upon using it on the 3rd attraction we were told it was invalid. I phoned City Sightseeing and they explained that I had used up all 4 attractions. I explained I had only seen 2 attractions, this couldn’t be the case. The lady at City Sightseeing advised that the hop on hop off bus journey itself is classed as an ‘attraction’. So we had used the bus to take us downtown to Observatory and used the bus to go uptown to Guggenheim. This is a rip off and very misleading.I explained we had bought the same pass in May 2018 and this wasn’t the case and that the hop on hop off bus was the TRANSPORT to take you to the attraction.I wouldn’t recommend using this company, a bus is a form of transport, it’s not an attraction. City Sight Seeing claimed the ‘Bus Journey’ was a ‘tour experience’.... it really isn’t. Some buses have a tour guide on (which you can’t hear) some buses don’t have a tour guide on. If your on the bus for 1 stop, that’s 1 of your attractions you have paid for, that stop might be 5 minutes away. The headphones don’t always work and sometimes you don’t even get a seat to sit in.Last year the bus would pick you up from so many different stops to take you uptown or downtown. This time around you have to walk to particular bus stops- Time Square for Uptown and Empire State for downtown. If you are elderly, or difficulty waking, this isn’t the greatest for you.We paid $119, the 2 attractions we went to cost £60 all together if bought separate. This means the bus journeys (we could 2 buses) cost us $60.... scandalous!!!Avoid!!!! It would be cheaper, more comfortable and quicker to get a taxi and pay separate for the attractions. They also state in there leaflets they offer the Empire State... they don’t. The Empire Stare have cut contract with City Sightseeing and they have not update the flyers. We were refused entry, very embarrassing.

Do not waste your time and money. I have photos of the dirty bus and rude tour guide while we waited 30 minutes for the upper Manhattan tour at Hell’s Kitchen stop. It’s actually less then 1 star! Pay the $34 for one week of metro! Best way to travel and get to locations of interest!

We bought the 48 hour hop on and off pass. We used the bus to get us to specific parts of town that we wanted to explore. So we ended up getting on the downtown bus at least 3 times. Once to ride it all the way through. Once to get off at 9/11 stop and once to get off close to the High Line. It saved us a lot of wear and tear on our feet. The only thing I would suggest is to Bring Your Own Headphones because sometimes the free ones they give you just didn’t get loud enough. All of the tour guides were very nice and seemed to enjoy their job. We did have one guy that didn’t hold his microphone close enough to his mouth so he was a little hard to hear. But wow we had one guy that was absolutely FABULOUS. So, my advice would be if you have a 9 out of 10 guide then I bet your next one will be a 10 out of 10.

A waste of money and time in NY. We have done this tour in other cities and it was great but in NY its a waste of time. They oversell tickets (salesman on almost every NY corner) and cant cater for the demand of passengers. The buses definitely dont run as frequent as they should and when they do eventually come around after waiting over an hour in the heat and sun, you cant get on the bus because theyre full. We ended up stranded and having to abandon it and get the subway instead. Dont waste your money!

AVOID ITS A SCAM. We bought an hour ferry for a statue of liberty tour and waited 30 min for the bus to arrive later than the guy said. We were supposed to be on the boat by 2:00 but thats when the bus arrived. Us along with other families waited a really long time and THE BUS WAS FULL. Side story, a family who was waiting with us had to people go on the bus who DID NOT SPEAK ENGLISH and they expected to go with them until they were told there was no more room. So, they argued with the people and the bus drove away with their family. They cussed out the people but I think they got them to pay for a cab to take them meet them so I hope they are good now. Then when we asked when the next shuttle was coming he said an hour and its already cold so we were not waiting anymore. We asked for a refund and the guy told us a bunch of lies about how we couldnt get our money back when we could and we did. Ultimately a waste of time dont get scammed

Really bad and cannot recommend. Waiting time 1h+, than often too full and need to wait for second bus, dirty, pricy and asking for tip, salesmen on street fighting for their bonus. Afternoon they even skip the voice guide as nobody buys tickets any longer! Take an Uber from one place to the next! That will be better and cheaper!

By far the most upsetting and enraging experience of being in new york. Please never buy anything from these scammers outside any attraction no matter what they say or insist. One of their people unlawfully sold me tickets to the Empire State and said there was a two hour line to get in. He overcharged $75 our credit cards, added tickets to the bus which we never requested, agreed to, or even knew about. We had to get the police involved because he fleed and apparently “no one else could issue a refund” not to mention the totally rude customer service experience I received, the manager refused to handle my case and they said they would contact me. 3 weeks later, I still havent resolved this and customer service has no recollection of the previous claim made.Worst experience, ruined our entire trip! Awful awful awful!!!

Nice tour. The whole hop on hop off thing ist really necessary but still a nice option to have. Anyway the route they go is perfect, and you have plenty of time to take great pictures.

What a con!!! The touts just wanted people on the buses & kept stopping to pile folk on. the buses did not have any air con and us passengers were really suffering on a 100degree day. Somebody said it was the 4th bus they had been on and none of them had a/c, people were getting off because they could not stand the heat. Also nobody was given headphones to hear the commentary

Just like a while bunch of reviews on here the buses DO NOT come every 15-20minutes. Waiting 40mins to an hour is very common. Very disappointed with the service. Will update this review when I finally am able to get on one of their buses*Update* got onto the bus finally. Because it was snowing we sat down stairs. The bus driver was constantly yelling at people to sit down even to the extent of stopping the bus. I completely understand the importance of sitting for safety however the manner in which he went about it was extremely disruptive and unpleasant to all of the customers on board trying to enjoy their ride. No pleasantries were given when leaving the bus which was expected after his attitude the whole ride to customers.
