The movie theater staff is so easy to work with, very professional and friendly, and allows us to bring food inside. They show a PowerPoint for the next movie and make announcements before the movie starts. The place is huge and so cool! Thanks for making my movie night experience wonderful!

Unique cinema experience! I absolutely loved this place from minute 1! It’s old school and amazing. You buy your tickets outside and enter the cinema. In the entrance hall is a place to buy food and drinks. The hall is amazing and the whole theatre has an awesome architecture. The auditorium I was in was huge and I liked the movie. Because I went before 12pm there were not a lot of people and I could fully enjoy it! The restrooms are downstairs and the whole downstairs area is more modern than the upper level. General admission is $15, which is a bit less than at AMC or Regal. You pay $4.50 surcharge for 3D movies. If you decide to see a movie before 12pm 1 ticket is $8. I love that option!

Excellent movie house in the town! All of their staves were very accomodating and friendly. The seats have individual armchairs that let you lay back and watch your favorite movie. I felt very comfortable on that day! A big hand to all of you! I will be introducing your movie house to all of my friends and family!

Went to The Hateful Eight screening in 70mm complete with an intermission. When I went to the lobby during the intermission there was no food or drink available as no one was behind the counter and employees were really weird and angry when I was trying to figure out what was happening and how the heck such an oversight could have happened. So the first intermission film Ive ever been to on an awesome screen was ruined by aggressive employees and the lack of any food or drink during a 3 hour movie with an intermission.

Beautiful little theater. You can’t escape the kind of people who attend here — irritating movie aficionados who talked through the whole film, discussing it as it played out. But it’s a wonderful little venue otherwise. Reasonably priced, comfortable, plays good films.

The sound only came from the screen directly. It would be much better if it was like a movie theater with the sound coming from all around. I feel like it really took away from the experience. The seats were also small and a bit uncomfortable. Besides that, the place looked cool and had pretty good popcorn.

I love the selection of films here. My daughter and I have enjoyed exquisite animated films from Japan and China here.A cozy friendly ambiance here with large and small screening rooms. You can buy your tickets digitally from your phone or computer, and then swipe your card at the theater to print them out.

This is actually a decent spot. There is usually no long lines. Kinda has a retro, 80s movies type of feel. I never had an issue. The bigger theater is definitely opera like and good architecture.

It was my first time coming to Village East Cinema today and last Saturday and it was to see a recording of a Japanese concert. These recordings are called Delayed Viewings and can be shown weeks or months after the actual live concert. The US hasnt been getting much of these delayed viewings so Im very thankful to Village East for having a showing. I live in Jersey but I will definitely be coming back for more than just delayed viewings.

By far, my absolute favorite theatre in New York. Most theatres are nice and have nice screens and good food. However, this theatres popcorn is perfect its not too filling and it tastes great. The 70mm projector and theatre steal the show though. The screen is a super nice size and great quality projector and screen. The theatre is gorgeous on the inside, and its so special to be able to see a movie on physical film in 2019. This theatre is incredible, it is a must see.

One of New York’s last remaining Yiddish theatre building. It is a New York City designated landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Yet not much New Yorker know about this place.I will definitely wake up earlier and watch a 11:30am movie that cost only 8 dollars.

My first time going to this awesome Theater. I felt as if the curtain would go back and the play would start at any moment. Lovely theater that was previously a neighborhood performing arts center. The main theater is a two storey auditorium space with a large screen and stage and also features some of the original architectural features. The other auditoria are smaller spaces located in the basement, and unfortunately do not feature any of the same touches. It would be nice if the theater were fully renovated to its former glory...

Beautiful converted landmark building. I just wish the actual movie theater part of it was more state-of-the-art. A lot of the seats are all ripped up. I went to see the unrestored 2001: A Space Odyssey in 70mm film. The screen they had to use in their theater wasnt the proper aspect ratio for the film. It was 1.85 to 1 instead of 2.20 to 1 that the film was shot in. The sound wasnt great, the acoustics might have had something to do with it, but it was mainly their equipment and setup. Oh well.

Movies are cheap but so is the experience. Bathrooms are like Sunday school bathrooms. Theatre seating is bizarre. I went there to a 2pm screening. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The screening room was large enough and had a good quality screen. The chairs were comfy and everything I encountered was clean. The only negative thing was that there was a booming, bass laden sound of either another screening room or some neighbors at some of the more quiet scenes of our movie which unfortunately ruined the mood of those scenes. I suspect that this was a rather inconvenient coincidence but it was annoying nonetheless as it went on for around 5 or 10 minutes of the movie.

Nice jewel in Manhattan. The theaters are small but comfortable. The box office is outside, conveniently next to the ATM machine. Everyone is so friendly and the prices are lower than so many other Manhattan and Brooklyn theaters. They even have an early bird special where if you get to the theater before noon the ticket is $8.00 for 2D; you also have to watch the early feature, no $8 tickets for later shows.....
