The Sound of Music Sing A Long was LEGIT. First, the owners ragtime band played beforehand. Then they cranked up the organ with some live Sound of Music jams. Then there was the costume contest for both kids and adults.

The place to go for well-crafted, independently produced films from many parts of the world. We’ve been pleased with all of the films we’ve seen here, and are especially delighted when the directors show up to personally introduce their work and participate in a Q&A session. Admission is priced the same as regular movie theaters in the city. Sign up for membership to avail of discounts and other perks.

I spilled dots in the fountain and kissed my one true love there in a rain storm. There’s a mint vested hunchback who frequents the Walter reade theater and I saw J-law throw her coffee cup on the floor of Alice Tully hall. If you are a raisin or if you love raisins, this is the place for you.

Last Saturday me and my friend have been at Lincoln Center to watch the movie Funeral Parade of Roses. I entered alone before him and the ticket woman said room on the left, so I followed her instruction and waited for him on the left rooms ramp. When he arrived, he saw me and we got into the room. She didn´t tell him the room. During the session I have been trying to figure out where the Oedipus Rex myth was. And I was till the end expecting the trans would appear, as the review said. When we went out, we saw a poster on the wall and it wasnt the movie we have bought for. So we realized the ticket woman told me the wrong room. I looked for some employee to complain we watched a wrong movie because she told us the wrong room. There was only one guy at this point. He said he couldnt do nothing because all the time people enter in the wrong room. I told him I followed her instructions and I´d never expect that the employee could be wrong. He told me with a loud voice it was my obligation to check the room and that I also had watched the movie till the end, how can we know if you didnt like the movie and is lying? and walked away. He was so stupid! I followed him and told him I wasnt lying, one movie was in chinese and the other was in japonese so we couldnt read the movies name. We only talked to the other were was the trans? Where was the myth? only when the movie had finished and realized she told us the wrong room when we went out the room and saw the movie was in the room beside. He started yelling at me. I was shocked, it was clear he didnt want to take my contact to talk to the manager or talk to me. He wasnt giving me attention, so I went out and met my friend seated at the bench in front of the restaurant. I seated too and started to tell him how aggressive the employee talked to me and didnt give me attention. Suddenly the guy passed in front of us to walk out of Lincoln Center screaming bad words! We were shocked with the treatment, so we decided to write a review informing you about the wrong information the first employee gave us - what made us watch the wrong movie - and the how unpolite and rude the other treated us.

We attended a screening of Jiro Dreams of Sushi at the Walter Reade Theater - the venue was clean, classy and all attendees were welcome to stay for a special Q&A session and simple reception with the film director. Tickets can be purchased in advance online through the website and picked up at the box office. I would love to come back for more screenings.

Ive found a new love in NYC: the Film Society of Lincoln Center. I recently went here to see Belated, a Colombian/Argentinian film part of the LatinBeat Film Festival. First off, the films offered here are provocative, thought-inspiring, intellectual and extremely engaging. Looking for a great documentary, something off the beaten trail...you must check out the films offered at the Film Society of Lincoln Center. Whats more, often times the director and/or actor in the film is available after select viewings to answer questions: genius. The Film Society of Lincoln Center truly offers its patrons with a unique and engaging experience. A throwback to my college years when their were screenings on campus and guest speakers.

The Film Center features movies in two theaters daily. The movies shown here are mainly indie and foreign films. Likewise, there is different film festivals held throughout the year here which are great including Scary Movies around Halloween and New Directors/New Films festival. The Film Center offers free talks as well which is very enjoyable. Some actors/directors who have attended include Christopher Nolan, Matthew McConaughey, and Jessica Chastain.

Clearly, Dennis Lim is failing miserably in his role as the Film Societys programmer. Fewer and fewer non-first run features are being scheduled. There is nothing at all scheduled from August 14 to at least August 31. It is time for the Film Society to find a new chief programmer, as well as a new director.
