Nublu is one of my favorite places in New York. Great bar and also some of the best musicians in the city(maybe even the country, dare I say world?) playing mad good tunes. Music from all over the spectrum, Jazz, Soul, Afrobeat, Funk, and more.

A little sketchy place but great atmosphere, limited choices of drinks but it doesnt matter because live music is super. Safe and interesting experience. Worth it to go. I was at Mannarino concert. I will not forget this night for a long time. He is a real music star! Thanks.

Won a spot on the guest list from doNYC for a band I really like and was quite willing to pay the cover for. Given the sound and the lighting, Im so glad I didnt have to or I would have been pissed.I dont know about anyone else, but I like to see the band. Even the drummer in the back. BUT ESPECIALLY THE LEAD SINGER. Save the atmospherically dark lighting for the audience. The instrumentation sounded fine for the small venue, but the vocals were muddy as hell. Ive seen the band elsewhere so it wasnt them... it was Nublu.Once the crowd moved away from the bar area, the back got stiflingly moist. I wasnt drinking alcohol so I decided to get a Coke. I was charged 3 bucks for what costs the bar cents on the dollar. In a rocks glass mind you, not even a pint. Jesus. I was scared to ask how much a water would run me.Nublu has the potential to be quite a cool spot to catch up and coming bands. But if key factors like sound and lighting dont showcase them to their best potential, it hurts rather than helps.

If you can get there youll be rewarded with some of the best bookings in the city. Also, have seen several big name artists come and sit in with the bands. Wish there was a better beer selection, and wish the subway was five minutes closer. But otherwise its a great venue that always has cutting edge music going on- not a place for you if you want to see bands playing it safe.

Producer Mondays is my absolute favorite event, but any event at Nublu is sure to please.

Aside from filming a movie I will be in, it looks like a great spot to have fun and throwback some drinks and listen to music, and I also heard they play live music as I saw a drum set up.

Very low key bar with live music. Dark and mysterious ambiance. I liked the music every time Ive been here. Plenty of dance space. Mixed drinks are made with sake, they dont have any other hard liquor.

Fun place when u dont know what to do during the slow nights

If youre looking for some great music, then this is the place. Dont expect to get a lot of conversation done here, just dance. The decor is is pretty good for what the place is, but it will not matter much, because youre only there to dance and its perfect for that. If you dont care to dance or are looking to just sit and chill, you will think that my five stars is unwarranted, but if you do enjoy dancing or if you just dont care and want to have fun with people who do, then here you go!

This place was closed on Wednesday 29 May 2019. Went all the way there and didn’t got either the forro night nor the bar itself.

Vibrant night in Manhattan. Small place but cozy environment.

Speakeasy bar with a small entrance that is easily missed. Chill vibe, spacious, great east village crowd, and decent music to dance to. Would make this my regular spot.

This place is super hard to find. Entrance is a gray unlabeled door right before you get to a little hole in the wall restaurant. Sorry I didnt take a photo! Fun place, live music!

Cool lounge, cool music but the coat check attendant was rude, and also was not even watching the personal belogings.

Really some of the best live music Ive heard out. If youre into Funk and Jazz this is the place to go. The trip-hop / psychadelic ambience is a great way to finish your night.

I love bars that put the DUMBEST person in the world at the door to say NO to potential guests. Guy was so rude. We went to the corner to Esperada and raged with a dope DJ instead. Avoid this place!

The real underground. Amazing spot.

Not sure if this classifies as a speakeasy but dont expect to find a large sign that points to this place. But once you get in, its like into a quintessential European jazz club. Great Soju-based cocktails (no hard liquor sadly) and ample lounging/ room makes this a great experience. We watched Les Beaux Tailleurs perform some of the best Ive in a long time.

Good late night spot for drinks and dancing

Ive checked out their Samba night on Wednesday nights....good times. Live music, good atmosphere for people that prefer to dance when they go out.

Ilhan Ersahin makes it sound good. Not giving 5 stars, because live perf started later than declared.

This place is just different. Good music and vibes and strong drinks that are a bit expensive but what isnt these days. Will be back.

I met up with a friend at NuBlu last night after years of not having visited. I paid $5 to get in, witnessed three of the most impressive bands I have seen in a loooong time with a light, chill crowd, no shoulder rubbing. I then had some super tasty beers.The ambience is and has always been very eclectic, unique, and down-to-Earth all the same time.The last time was there, I saw a Reggie Watts show for free, with, again, just a few people present.Nublu is one of the best gems nyc has to offer for a live music and dance venue.

A really fun spot to dance, catch a live show and have a few too many drinks! Just be warned that there’s a cover and that the bathrooms aren’t too nice.

Went on jazz night and the band was great.

Quirky club with performances from the terrible to the sublime. They also have drinks designed by a crazy person, like bloody Mary with guiness.
