The playground at this park is phenomenal for kids! I took my two-year old grandson there and almost had to drag him away when it was time to go. The playground equipment is state of the art - creative and fun and challenging, but very safe. Its a beautiful setting, too, with lots of trees and a flock of geese that waddle through the area. I will definitely be coming back here again!

Had a great picnic here. There are several pavilions, so you are likely to find a spot even on summer weekends. There is a disc golf course just beside the picnic area, so it’s a great place to bring some friends, eat, frolf, relax, and enjoy the Minnehaha scenery.

Nice picnic area with wheelchair accessible parking, and wheelchair accessible picnic huts. Huge grills for grilling your food. Great place for family or large gathering. Walk further inwards down to the rest of the park from here or walk from here to the beautiful Bridge across the Mississippi and enjoy the fall colors.

One of the best playgrounds for little and big kids! Most summers they also have a small wading pool open right next to the playground (currently closed due to COVID). Plenty of space for kids to run and for families to have a relaxing lunch on one of the many picnic tables. A lot of tables are nicely segregated to allow for more private picnics.

They updated everything. Its a park for all ages. They have benches on the outskirts and a tennis and basketball court as well as a baseball field. This is my go to park. They installed a water system, some cool new merry go rounds. Its so spaced out. I live about 15 min away. But I would drive here anytime.

Great park! Disc Golf, a nice play area, great wading pool for the kids, awesome views of the Mississippi River, nice picnic pavilions with grills and walking paths that connect to the River Road paths. Theres lots of parking and theres a lot of shade in the summertime. Love this Minneapolis park!

This is a wonderful park with so much for kids to do. It’s assessable for all ability’s even wheel chair friendly. The surface of the play ground is made of a rubber like material instead of wood chips or gravel. They have a nice enclose picnic shelter with lots of tables to eat at and even a few scattered out door picnic tables. My family loves to bring a lunch and play at the play ground. In the summer they have a decent sized splash pad for the kids or even the adults that’s open most days if the weather permits. This park offers something for everyone. There is grills available however you need to bring your own charcoal.

I always forget about this park because its tucked at the end of the massive Minnehaha Falls park. But, its really great! I went on a Sunday at 2pm for my sisters birthday party and there was tons of free parking available and lots of picnic tables. Meanwhile, Minnehaha Falls park was jammed full. This park is a little gem plus the parking is free and you can quickly walk over the Falls area if you want to.

Awesome Park with great variety of activities! Open spaces abound, walking paths are nearby, a few play sections are great too! The wading pool is a huge perk! While it was busy, it was easy to keep an eye on the kids and they were able to have a blast in the shadow water. Grills and picnic tables are around too.I highly recommend this place and would love to return myself!

Im hesitant to submit a review because I dont want more people to know about this park. It is great! the play area is shady with lots of varied equipment. I love the bench in the middle of the big kids play structure mainly because my 1.5 year old thinks she is a big kid and that way I can keep an eye on her. The splash pad and playground are close enough together that going back and forth is easy. Seems like a park that not many people know about as even on a beautiful Saturday it wasnt insanely busy.

As someone with a young toddler that lives in South Mpls, this is my new favorite park. First, shade. Park has shade, splash pad has shade, countless picnic tables shaded. The park equipment is top notch for all ages. The most big kids Ive seen enjoying themselves as well as great accessibility for toddlers and anyone else who doesnt do well with stairs. The interactive pieces actually get interacted with. The baby swings arent all short (my kid likes to swing high). Same company that does the equipment by our place and we love it. Big sand area with things to play with. Nice views for parents and tons of spots to sit. Didnt use the splash pad, but it looked fantastic. Good free parking...at least I think it was.

The perfect place to do anything outdoorsy! They have this nice splash pad area next to the playground for the kids. I love that they have rubber-like comfort flooring instead of the sand. Although there is sand in one little digging area. Lots of trails to walk, bike or skate. They also have a few different picnic areas - some in the open, some in covered. What I like most are the views of the area in which you can people watch, watch cars go and just enjoy a perfect bright day in the sun or shade. Its a fun, safe, free family area.

The playground area was one of the coolest ones o have seen. Lots of area for kiddos to play and really inventive play. My kiddos loved the musical aspect of it. It was accessible and for for a large range of ages. My only complaint is that as a parent I want easy sight lines when my kids play and this one I really had to walk around and work hard to be able to have eyes on them. It was super busy the day we went, which made keeping sight lines even more difficult.

I REALLY loved this picnic area/outdoor playground/ splash pad (seasonal)! The location overlooks the Mississipi River/Ford Parkway bridge. It is right next to a VA Retirement home, but north of it and higher up on the bluff. The playground was wonderful, and it looks like in the summer, there is a gated portion that will have water features. They do have a structure with outdoor public bathrooms but it is only open between Memorial Day and Labor Day. In the meanwhile, they have a Port-a-potty available.

Excellent park for children of all ages especially the ones who are young at heart. Water pad with about 2 feet deep of standing water, unique and different playsets, plenty of shade from trees and sand pit for little toes to explore. My favorite part is the view of the other side across the bridge. It is a hidden gem. It is by the Veterans home, the driveway is a little hidden but if you keep looking you will surely find it.

First visit this year. My 2 granddaughters love this park. I entered the women’s restroom today and found broken doors and many toilet paper dispensers broken and falling off the stall walls - empty and soiled toilets. I was relieved the girls did not need to use, as we kept our visit shorter then usual. I hope this gets repaired. Perhaps it needs to be checked a few times a day with the heavy use it gets. Also the gate in/out of splash pad does not latch, enabling children to come and go freely.

The splash pad here is so much fun! It has a shallow wade pool, that gets deeper one one end. Still pretty shallow: the water came up to my toddlers chest. She was safe, but could still try to swim! There is also a little cave in the middle that had a waterfall flowing over all 4 sides. There were two picnic benches with large umbrellas, and benchs all around the area. The whole place is fenced off too, so no little ones can wander into it.
