ROSES! REAL ROSES! WITH FRAGRANCE! So, I get a little excited to see roses the way they used to be. Probably more than 40 varieties set out in a lovely setting with a view of Lake Harriet. Take a walk around the lake, rent a bike, take in a concert, sip wine, beer, soft drinks, lots of snacks and food available at the pavilion within an easy walk of the garden. And funny forget to cross the street to see the Japanese garden with sculptures.

Its a great place to take photos, go for a walk, or just hang out with a couple of close friends. Ive taken senior photos there and photos of the beautiful flowers. I definitely recommend checking it out.

I went here in late August of this year for my senior pictures and it was mostly beautiful, but some of it was somehow already dead! Either way though, my pictures from here turned out great and I’d highly recommend a nice walk through here if you can. There are so many benches and places to hammock!

There are many beautiful spaces to be found in Minneapolis, and even though I often feel like Ive been here already and dont need to see it again, I am constantly amazed by the stunning display of flora here. The rose garden itself is an amazing sight with rows of different varieties of roses- some of which seem to faire better in Minnesota weather than others- but all of which offer a unique beauty.Surrounding the rose garden, though, is an asymmetrical arrangement of colors from a plethora of flower species that just serves to further enhance the feeling of wonder and beauty to be found here.Downside is that it is often populated with photographers doing model photo shoots that can detract from the experience.

This place is wonderful! There are so many different type of roses, each with its own distinct smell and beauty. There is plenty of shade in the surrounding park as well as being across the street from Lake Harriet.

Beautiful landscaped gardens with paths to wander through. The rose garden itself has roughly 2500 rose bushes representing both local Minnesota and European varieties. Looks and smells amazing as you saunter through. Volunteers were friendly and knowledgeable. Worth a nice weekend stroll.

Lovely gardens with a great variety of roses. My only regret is that the two large and exquisite fountains were covered and drained due to Covid 19 concerns. Their statuary is gorgeous but the enclosures hid them completely. There is also a bird sanctuary with woodland paths, and an oriental rock garden with benches scattered about and a small foot bridge, providing a wonderful meditative atmosphere.Paid parking is available at a reasonable price but there is usually ample street parking nearby if you want to walk in.

This park is not only beautiful, but you have a variety of spaces where you can feel like you are in a more private space, even with people walking by along the paths. A lot of shade and sunny spaces to choose from. A great place to play lawn and toss/kick a ball around.

Beautiful Park. Appreciated the Lilac Restoration Project. Beautiful landscape which gives one some great ideas for their own yard. The Roses will be making their appearance soon. There’s paid parking by the bird sanctuary. I wasn’t very impressed with that area but maybe it’s more lively as we continue into the warmer season. Big park area.

Lovely and beautifully manicured gardens. The rose beds draws you in by their fragrent blooms. Perennial and annuals are a colorful display amid 2 fountains, a sundail and an old fashion bubbler. People are scattered along the pathways. Some sitting on the many benches drawing, or taking pictures where their eyes sees the beauty nature has to offer. Silence, and tranquilty awaits in the peace garden while sounds of birds singing fills the air. A picturesque stroll day or night with nature in all its splendour. Dont forget to stop and smell the roses.
