This is one of my favorite zoos! I have been to many zoos around the country and this one seems so unassuming; but the more I go the more I love it. You can see many rare animals very closely, it makes it feel special for the kids. Go in cooler weather, the animals are more active then. This zoo is hardly ever busy so you can spend a lot of time observing and reading and talking about each animal. The staff, especially in The Hive building, are very knowledgeable and will tell you many interesting facts about each creature. The natural play places are so fun. I like the relaxed feel each time we visit. I have kids ages 15-3 years old.

Great zoo for kids. The remodels have done alot to add to the interest of the zoo. The play areas are a great addition. I love that so much of the old section is shady so it isnt so hot in the summer. You can see most of the zoo in a few hours, so it isnt too much for the kids. My kids especially love the butterflies where they get to let butterflies land on their hands.

Great place to spend time with children. Me and my granddaughter love the giraffe. She could sand and watch them eating and interacting with guests for hours. For a child of 18 months that is something. She also likes the turtles and goats. The gibbon monkeys are are special treat. The white face gibbon love children. While the polices and restrictions related to COVID 19 have change some great parts of the zoo it is still fun. I would recommend and encourage membership and supporting the Zoo.

I cannot wait for more new animals and remodel to be done! It isnt just for kids learning but also adults who just enjoy going to zoos even! I will spend some of my money here anytime I get a chance going eastward!

Great place for kids and adults. As adults we were able to leisurely stroll thru in 1 1/2 hours. Zoo does a great job following covid-19 safety guidelines with a one way path marked.

Overall a good visit. There is still plenty to see, but all of the buildings were closed and all the side shows were not taking place. However, you can still feed the giraffes and see a lot of different animals and rare monkeys. Overall still enjoyable for an hour or two walk through, but maybe the price should be lowered.

Its a small but intimate zoo. Only complaint is that since the Rona has overtaken the world, tickets for anything must be purchased when you first walk in. The ticket booth boy did not let us know that so we had major backtracking to do. So dont forget if you want to ride the train or the ponys buy the ticket at the front before you start the trail.

The Lincoln Childrens Zoo is an awesome facility, catering to children but equally wonderful for adults. You can spend an hour or three, as there are a number of opportunities to be interactive with exhibits. If you are in or around Lincoln, NE, you should seriously consider a visit to the zoo.

Very busy. People are not distancing from others. Mask are required for buildings only, if that. Im not sure why they are still doing timed entrance. Looked like any other time before Covid. People bunch up in groups as they talk on the sidewalks. Love the animals and the kids had fun otherwise.

A bit underwhelming for a first time visitor. A good variety of animals and we got very lucky that most of them were out! During the current restrictions, it only takes about 2 hours to walk through so no need to dedicate a whole morning/afternoon.

Ca

We had to take precautions, of course. You make an appointment and go asst that time. A one way walk through, but you are able to see a lot of animals. I was dismayed at how many people were not keeping social distance. But, all in all, it was fun and even though very hot, there was plenty of shady areas with a light breeze.

Havent been here in a while but they have done some nice changes to the beginning of the zoo. Like that there is an equal amount of hands on, visual, and play activities. While it is not as big as Omaha zoo its good enough to keep the kids entertained and learning more about animals eating habits, habitats, and more. Would recommend to any visitor or returnees.

Ja
Review №29

In normal times, this zoo seems like it would be fantastic, especially if you have young children. However, right now while they are technically limiting the number of people in, they are doing it in a way that promotes people crowding at the start of the gates and near certain exhibits (90 people every 15 minutes at the time we went). It would honestly be better if they just opened fully to prevent the waves. They also were not recommending masks, which they really should have as many didnt wear one and it was about impossible to keep 6 ft in the congested areas.

The zoo is great. The new upgrades really take it way beyond what it what it ever was before. If you havent been since they added the giraffes and tigers then you should go this year. Great for younger children. Its a small zoo, easy to see in 2-3 hours, but includes many play areas and interactive exhibits that keep kids engaged. There are some great updates and additions underway, too. Kids can get up close to many animals and interact in a lot of ways (feeding, holding, petting, etc). For a family of 5, its worth a membership, since it would pay for itself in two visits.

I enjoyed this zoo. I dont have kids but it was still had a good time. We walked the whole zoo in about 2 hours and it only cost about $10 for adults and $8 for children/seniors. Theyre doing some adding on right now (8/2018), and it looks like itll be a cool addition. Id recommend going here and taking the kids. It has a lot of trees and shading so its not too hot in the summer.

Review №59

This zoo is a great place to take kids as it is just the right size. The path through the zoo is very straightforward and kids usually seem to stay on the path. This makes managing your little ones easier! The Omaha zoo is a pretty cool place but I like the layout of the Lincoln zoo much better for smaller children. The new attractions are great (tigers, giraffes, red pandas, etc.) and the summer time brings a lot more volunteers to actually touch some of the animals. Its a great zoo for children.

I have been going to the Lincoln Childrens Zoo now ever since I was a toddler myself. Ive seen the Zoo change over the years. This recent additional growth has allowed the Zoo to grow and add many new items for people to see. They have a program with the Lincoln Public School to offer Zoo School. The Zoo has its own train and recently laid new track to replace the 30 year old track. They have a beautiful Zoo Gift shop and I now have been told that they have a new restaurant in the Zoo. I look forward to taking my nephews this summer to the new and improved Lincoln Zoo.

The Childrens Zoo is centrally located in Lincoln. Lots of construction going on in and around the zoo currently, but it is open to the public and there is plenty of parking. My husband and I spent a very nice afternoon there, seeing the animals, checking out the flora and people watching. The staff works hard to keep the grounds and exhibits looking good. A leisurely walk-through takes about an hour and a half.

The Lincoln Zoo is great. I hadnt been for awhile so I took my 5 year old. We had a great time. The staff everywhere we went was amazing and super friendly!! My ONLY reason for 4 not 5 stars is because I felt some of the animals had such small living spaces. The life of a zoo I suppose and I know Lincoln takes excellent care of their animals.

For a small zoo this really is a great one. Yes I’d love for the animals to be able to live in the wild sure, but I feel these critters are being well cared for. You are now allowed to feed the giraffes, which is sooo cool!!I love the little center where you can go in and talk to the lady and hold & talk about whichever critter she’s holding at the time. I’ve been in there when she had a snake and then this day she had a tarantula not for meYou learn so much about them. The children can feed the goats and you can stand in a life size eagles nest. WoW They are expanding their zoo so that’s super cool!It is a fun place to go indeed, to help your kids to appreciate the wonderful creatures God has put on this planet. It is a lot pricey though. Some kids probably can’t afford to even come to the zoo. I find that very sad.
