I love Pioneer Park Nature Center! Not only do they have bison, but there are paths through either forest or prairie indigenous wildflowers. My granddaughter loves it. My wife and I love it.While walking around a pond last week, we said, all those sticks cannot ALL be the heads of bullfrogs! They were, and we have a great splashing and hopping about video for our three-year-old grandchild. She went last time and saw all the bison. I have to take her back soon, for the frogs. The sunflowers, milkweed seed pods and turtles were also a big hit. It’s such a wonderful asset, saving a beautiful hunk of wildflowers is a great gift to the next generation of hikers and fans of the outdoor life!

What a beautiful experience. Absolutely hands down the best park in the state. Extremely well kept . So many things to do for all ages. we as a family personally really enjoy the nature hiking. If you do go please remember there are donation boxes to help keep it up. Definitely worth it one of the reasons I moved to Lincoln

Nice park but very few trash cans so there’s lots of litter around the trails unfortunately. Some paved and unpaved paths. Parking was easy on a Saturday.

A big park with a lot to do. The most well known attraction is the Bison, and if they are close to the fence, the experience is fantastic, but like most herd animals they like to roam and are not often near the fences. Near the bison is a nature preserve area with trails, a suspension bridge, several lakes, and more trails. The trails are a great place for casual exercise and to reconnect with nature. (Take your time and smell the flowers, see the frogs, walk with butterflies, and pet the cattails.) There are large open areas for group games, and fairly nice playground equipment for kids. Pack a lunch and take the kids; its a great park. (Also, I was very impressed by how clean the park is. Great job to all who work there.)

I love going to pioneers park because when I’m there I like to catch turtles, and feed animals like ducks, geese, other birds, turtles, and fish and I like to catch frogs there as well! It’s also a great place to interact with family members and have picnics and if your a nature person who likes to photograph flora and fauna you should definitely go there someday! :)

Loved every bit of this little treasure on the outskirts of Lincoln while visiting Nebraska. Being a country girl I felt right at home visiting this place. I was highly impressed by the care taken of the beautiful Raptors they had and the trails along the way were very peaceful. It was enjoyable to watch the buffalo, elk, and the deer they had as well in spacious, lush, enclosures.

Really well maintained trails. Great for families. Paved and gravel trails. Nature center. Going to see the bison is so cool. There has been times where peoples cars have been broken into, so lock your cars and dont bring valuables. Ive never run into this problem, but it has happened to people I know. This is one of my favorite parks in Lincoln

Decided to take a trip to the nature center while grandparents were visiting from out of town. The trails were very beautiful and peaceful. Brought back a lot of memories from nature trails I used to go on as a kid. Hopefully we can come back when the buildings are open and check out some of the hands-on activities.

Nebraska has done a great job preserving their state’s history and culture. Pioneers Park Nature Center is a shining example of this. You can tell that the people here care about the work they do and the preservation of the state’s nature and history. Pleasant place to take a walk, learn about prairie history and lifestyle, and see what makes Nebraska a place worth visiting. It’s not just a fly over state!

Covid aside - a little consideration for people spending the night would be nice. There is no pool or exercise area. The room may or may not have been cleaned. The food and a pair of socks left under the bed tells me no. The luggage carts were just left by the elevator without being cleaned in between. The complimentary grab and go breakfast was a warm bottle of water, a cup of pineapple with no spoon and a granola bar. I usually enjoy Americinn, but was really disappointed this time.

Pioneers park is lovely this time of year (snow) well all the time really. Its good for hiking, biking and wildlife watching. There is a nice play ground right by the picnic area, oh and the picnic area has grills and is large enough to accommodate large groups of folks without being bunched together like sardines. This has been a favorite backdrop for photo shoots of all kinds... engagement, wedding and senior high portraits.

The Nature Center is the centerpiece for this park on the outskirts of Lincoln. The park is known for its hiking trails, golf course, statuary and views of the Nebraska State Capitol building. During the early fall you can frequently see cross country events and the Pinewood Bowl Amphitheater is a great place to take in a concert right there in the park. Pioneer Park is a unique park for anyone! The Pioneer Park Nature Center is a very interactive experience for all ages. Highly recommend exploring the park and go into the Nature Center

This place is HUGE with a golf course and lots of very scenic walking trails. Theres lots of prairie and a few wooded areas. The highlight of Pioneers Park (and the thing that makes it unique from other parks) is the variety of animals that can be seen up close here. There are a couple of elk, many geese, bison, turkeys, hawks, and owls. Best of all, admission is free. This is a great attraction for couples as well as families and children.

Its not that far from my residence but I dont get to go there nearly enough in the colder than I can handle weather. This is my favorite park in Lincoln and as long as Ive lived here I am ashamed to admit that I have not seen half of the place. I hope to remedy this starting as soon as I can get there on foot and stay for hours and discover the trails Ive heard so many good things about but have yet to experience them myself. As for the new residents of Lincoln and surrounding areas make it a point to see the beautiful plants and ponds and the kids will love to visit the nature center and walk through the where the buffalo and the other large animals have a great habitat, very natural not like a zoo or anything. I plan on going tomorrow actually and I am going to try to get pictures of everything and then some. Theres also an outdoor amphitheatre in the park and the shows are going on almost every weekend during the summer! Pioneers Park is a must visit with yourself and your pets or the whole family including the pets of course! Please dont forget the outdoor rule You pack it in, you have to pack it out there are trash bins everywhere if you are looking for one.

We always have a pleasant relaxing time with each visit to Pioneer Park in the mid-western edge of Lincoln. Lots of acres of green grass and trees around a good-sized pond. A few statues, a golf course and Pinewood Bowl arena for music performers. There is a zoo for the animal lovers who didnt bring their own dogs to walk and run. A family picnic or a leisurely bike ride, lifes simple pleasures.

I visited for a production at Pinewood Bowl Amphitheater. The location is very pretty and has enough trees that going on a day where the temperatures were 100+ the weather was still quite tolerable. The trees do still allow for a breeze which was nice. My only qualm with the place was that the markings for directions were not the best and the traffic controllers wanted you to go the wrong way on a roundabout but did not specify so. This area is quite large and while I only explored a small chunk of it, I am assuming that there is something there for almost everyone.
