I love animals, and my kids love going to see what new animal they have. Huge are to cover, so make sure your up fir the walk and have on some comfortable shoes. They have a little train, but you miss so much of the beauty when taking the train. Love this Zoo compared to others in Florida.

Got there right when they opened and wasnt crowded at all. Being there early had its perks, no lines for train or to look at the animals. My 2 boys loved the experience of seeing all the animals. Only thing I would like to have a better experience would have to be the zoo being bigger. You can walk the park and see everything in about 2 hours. But it was a pleasant experience.

Im giving 5 stars because even with the pandemic going on theses guys are still working putting their lives at risk for our entertainment. I enjoyed everything at the zoo except the snow cone guy who didnt give enough flavoring for $6 but wanted ypu to pay extra. The best part of the zoo was the dinosaurs...we went through twice.

I loved this zoo. The grounds are kept clean and the animals seem to be very well taken care of. We spent over 4 hours exploring the grounds. The paths through exhibits are well maintained and we were able to pull our wagon without any issues. Restrooms were clean. The sweet shop surprised me though. The prices were quite reasonable. We weren’t able to feed the giraffes because the wouldn’t come over but we were able to pet and feed stingrays. Overall amazing experience. Will definitely return.

It was a great experience, we went for my wifes birthday and were not disappointed. The animal exhibits were pretty impressive, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. For a small extra fee you can feed the stingrays, giraffes, and birds, also you get free access to the 4d theater, and unlimited rides on the train. The only negative comment I have is that a few of the bigger animals habitats could have been larger and nicer for the incredible creatures to live.

Friendly staff. Clean. Incredible viewing exhibits. We really had a great time. Parking was pretty decent too. Train ride was fun too. You can feed the giraffes. The tiger exhibits allow them to walk over you. The hippo exhibit it pretty impressive as the tank is on ground level so the hippos glide right in front of you. The penguin exhibit is my favorite, but Im partial to them. Food is available but costs of course. Snow cone truck, 4-D experience, gift shop, ECT..

Its pretty good as far as zoos go, I think its bigger than people think that havent been there. Its a lot of walking but plenty of places to rest or go inside to sit and eat. Most staff are friendly but its not the best zoo for photographers looking for great shots, the tigers can offer some good shots but most exhibits are to cramped or behind dirty glass for many good photos.

The family and I always love coming here! It is a world class zoo on par with Atlanta and San Diego. Of course they have lots of great animals and signage about them, wide open walk ways, and boardwalks and even a splash park to cool down the kids! They also have hedge mazes and a popular playground. The tiger and the ape exhibits are new and wonderful, you might think you are Animal Kingdom at Disney World in those exhibits. Great spot

We had a great time, it wasnt packed with people so we could enjoy everything the park had, well worth the money. The animals were out and about too, which made it even better. The apes were so funny and playful, and we loved petting the stingrays!! I would definitely recommend a trip here, at least before it gets too busy with more people.

The zoo is lots of fun. My wife and I rode the train first to get the lay of the land, because this was our first trip. We paid for the expensive, all inclusive ticket price. The zoo isnt huge and you can do it in half a day or more. The layout is simple and easy to start at one end and move down the main walk to each area. Beautiful gardens and flowers, a couple places to eat, beer is available, and several areas to rest and relax. Even though it rained like hell several times, it didnt seem to dampen the spirits of the folks who ventured out. I took one star off because the exhibits are getting a bit dated. Although several exhibits were llaentynlarge enough, I want to see the cats with more space. The good news is I read they are just starting a $10MM renovation over the next 10 years. I cant wait. Ill visit again in the meantime, but Ill be watching as the improvements happen.

I took my girls here today for the KID FREE September and it was amazing! It was a cloudy Friday about 84° and not crowded at all! The walkways were nice and spaced out, plenty of room, shade, benches. The animal exhibits were easily accessible and we saw so many up close! Also I loved that we got 2 delicious cups of mint ice cream at the sweet shop for only $6. Reasonably priced! Staff members were friendly and helpful. Our favorite part was the stingray bay where you can pet them! We will definitely be back more this month for this great deal! I highly recommend! And also next time well indulge in some Starbucks at the entrance!

A hidden gem in our city. It has been many years since I visited the zoo and my was I surprised. This zoo is a fun place to visit and spend an afternoon walking around and exploring the different geographical zones. Their dinosaura exhibit was fun to explore. The staff was very friendly. The environment was relaxed. Social distancing was seamless. You can tell a lot of thought was put into keeping everyone safe while still having a great time. I will definitely return again. I love being an Annual Member. There are definitely more perks for discounts. To my fellow parents out there during the summer months I recommend going to the zoo when they first open up because all of the animals are out and the crowd is minimal. The train ride tour reminded me of Jurassic Park when they mentioned dinosaurs but the dinosaurs said it was too hot. Those animals where hot. They need spray fans. I know, they are wild animals, but not all where born in the wild. Its like taking a house dog an after years of AC, putting it outside in a kennel. Enjoyed everything but the Florida heat, an Im a Georgia girl.

Wonderful day out with my family. The expansions are stunning. Parking was easy. There were nice food and snack options. Plenty of shady places to sit. You really need two days to see everything. They were clean and in good repair. There are convenient clean bathrooms located throughout the zoo.Entry fees can get a little pricey. Review №44

We took advantage of the November special of kids being free and I will say that it was worth the discounted price. I would not go if I had to pay full price for the whole family because its not worth it. Take note that general admission only gets you in the zoo. If you want to feed giraffes, ride the train, etc then you have to pre-purchase the total experience tickets, which I would have done if I knew that was the only way to do the extras. The website did not mention it at all. Masks were not enforced which I loved! Felt great to go somewhere and be somewhat normal, plenty of sanitizer stations though. The place was clean and well kept. Good little family outing.

Review №45

You get there and there were to many people. Rude people and staff! Grown ups bumping into your kids. You go to the carousel and go to pay, kids all excited and they won’t let you pay with a credit card because you have to have the full experience to reduce the spread of Covid. But they don’t make wearing mask mandatory and almost everyone was walking around with no masks all close to you. When we complained about the terrible experience and how crowded it was we were told the zoo was only at 50% capacity! Never going again and wouldn’t recommend to anyone to go to this zoo. Kids were so disappointed that they asked to leave the zoo and just go to the park instead.

The JAX Zoo is an incredible adventure. The zoo is huge and cannot be seen in one day, especially if you have kids. All in all its not bad fairly clean and nice. However there is an experience plus pass. This has to be purchased in order to ride the carousel, feed giraffe, touch the stingrays, basically if it sounds like fun its probably experience pass holders only. This pass doubles the cost of each ticket, and is the only way to do said experiences. You can no longer pay at each attraction you would like to do.Ants are all along the walkway by the hundreds, so dont stop in one place very long.
