The Arboretum is a great place to escape the city and get in touch with nature. The scenery is beautiful with many little features along the way. Its amazing to have so much nature right near the roads we take to work every day. The trails are labeled with posts, and there are designated entry and exit points to keep the foot traffic in the same direction. It is a great place to go for a peaceful walk. Dogs are welcome. There are smaller trails which are great for children. I will definitely be visiting again soon.

What a beautiful landscape to get away and clear your head and get some fresh air! They conveniently label the paths entrance and exit so traffic is going the same direction and you dont cross paths with many people at all. Very safe for social distancing. I brought a mask with me, but only came in contact with one person so I didnt need to wear it.

Very enjoyable hiking with the pups. Not many mask wearing people but social distancing in order. Trails are fairly well marked at most intersections.

I also love the fact that a lot of the trees and flowers has name plates to positively identify what you are viewing.

A beautiful clean park with lots of trails. Well maintained. Incredibly peaceful. The lake is lovely and the trail going around the lake is short and a great trail for young families. There are longer trails off the back side that go into the woods as well. We did a few boardwalk trails as well. Will be back for sure!

The trails are nice and make you feel like youre not in Jacksonville. Also, with the current covid situation, they require everyone to go the same direction on each trail to avoid having to cross paths with too many others. Its very hot during the summer months, but it is Florida, and a lot of the plants seemed to have already flowered/bloomed at this point in the year.

The Jax Arboretum is absolutely beautiful with such a variety of flora and fauna. Visiting in November, the weather was cool and comfortable. We walked all of the trails, stopped to enjoy the view often, and ate a picnic lunch among the live oaks spending a total of 4.5 hours. I cant wait to go back in the spring to see all the plants blooming. I highly recommend checking out Jacksonville Arboretum & Gardens. If you go, dont forget to add to the donation box right near the parking lot. $3 per visitor is suggested.

One of the greatest hidden gems in this city, though its increasingly more busy each and every week. Trails and grounds very well maintained. So much foliage labeled. Beautiful place, looks like the land that time forgot. Lots of weird shaped trees and roots protruding from the ground. Really have to take your time and explore all the trails to find all the interesting spots. Seems like everytime we go we find something new. Friendly turtles in the pond that your not supposed to feed but they are obviously accustomed to it. Gopher tortoises just kind of chilling by their burrows. A woman we met at a trail intersection saw a snake but couldnt identify it. Looks like they would be everywhere but Ive never seen any there in a dozen visits or so. Overall a great place to take the family if you enjoy outdoors and togetherness. And you can get a little exercise if you wish or just chill at the picnic tables. They even have a dog water fountain at the entrance, seriously. Its a foot off the ground. The bathrooms work, what else can I say.
