Beautiful relaxing place to go after work. This park offers quite a lot of commodities as opposed to any other park in the area. It is connected to the walkway as well. Even an archery range and a frisbee golf course. Overall love coming here whether its to watch the deer that will occasionally pass by at sunset or if its to go take a relaxing walk by the creek.

Nice, bike and walkway. I use it most mornings. Safe and managed. City does great I keeping it up and folks take good care along the way also.

I used to love this dog park. Now it seems like the upkeep isnt being done on it.Its basically unusable without heavy duty bug repellent. All these bumps on my dog in the photo are mosquito bites from the dog park. He picked up 30+ of them in a half hour. I gave up counting.I have quite a few as well.There is a ton of untreated standing water in the wooded area of the dog park and the mosquitos just come over to feast on the patrons of the park. My dog also got intestinal parasites from the water back there.Avoid this park unless you have heavy duty bug spray, and keep out of the wooded section of the dog park unless you want a hefty vet bill for intestinal worms.Fix the park Huntsville

Not a bad little park. Has a play ground,a dog park, and a disc golf course! Nicely taken care of and maintained. If youve not been by this park, definitely go give it a shot, especially the disc golf course!

Great place to let the kids run around. Clean bathrooms. Patrolled by police. ( we were there 3 hours and they came by twice) has a dog park attached and a pavilion

Really nice playground with equipment small and safe enough for toddlers to enjoy! Nice pavilions for picnics, right off the Aldridge Creek Greenway. Theres also a little library, Frisbee golf course, archery range, and dog park. Always a fun time!

It was a wonderful place for our dogs. And having the huge wooded area to run free was great. They had water available too. Met other furry and human pets. We will definitely be back often. Thanks for this tremendous place for our dogs and us too.

We love the working dog portion of the dog park. The only caution I would give is to make sure ALL gates are secured closed. Unfortunately the Huntsville City employees that mow the park leave them OPEN nearly every single time they come and go. This could be dangerous and it is really not OK. They should be more mindful to shut the gates.

Had a lot of fun here. The dogs loved the dog park and our toddler loved the swings, slides and other play areas. Beautiful afternoon. Clean, well kept property.

Great amenities like up-to-date playground, disk golf course, and dog park. Only downside is the dog park wooded area and main area gets flooded really easily and standing water can stay there for days making it very muddy.

Great bark park. Large Dog side connects to a good chunk of fenced off woods - Working Dog area, but also really good to walk in the woods and let your dog wander safely.

Such a hidden gem. Quite, slightly hidden location away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Play equipment is clean and up to date. Clean bathroom facilities. Also has a spot for archery, a dog park just down a small hill, as well as a beautiful walking trail with a creek running right alongside. Was so surprised to discover a Little Free Library to the backside of the play area, but still close to the walking trail. I wasnt the only one who saw it for the first time. 2 moms that were overheard to say they were there nearly every day were also seeing it for the first time. So strange. I notice all differences and strangnesses, some notice nothing at all unless it pops up on their smart phone or tablet. Nice playground, clean bathrooms, cool fenced dog park area. Nifty little place.

Beautiful little park. It has a playground for the kids and a playground for the fur kids. Walk towards the back of the park and it leads right to the greenway. Great utilization of this property thats been vacant for so long.

This is such a nice park to spend family time at. Its always clean and well kept and my son has a great time playing and riding his bike. We enjoy riding the greenway that runs next to it.

We love Southside park. We bring our daughter who loves the slides.We also bring our dogs to the dog park. It is a great space for them to run and explore.

The kids loved the park! I like where it is located, the Greenway is right there, and they have a really nice area for archery!! Very well kept. Picnic benches and restrooms are here!! They also have a little covered area of picnic tables!! I will definitely be back here again!!!

A greenway to walk, run, bike and some people even fish in the creak. That have a play ground for the kids and nice clean restrooms. They also have disc golf and an archery range that is covered and goes out to 50 yards.

Its not far of a drive for me to use the bow range. Needs new targets though

Love, love, love this park! It would be nice if they had a couple of barbecue grills but we still bring dinner and have a picnic in the park. The kids love the playground, the dogs love the dog run and I love the grounds. Its a beautiful place to relax with the family.

There is a lot of variety and caters to a few age groups. There is no shade on the playground itself, though there is a pavilion.

Wonderful place for a run

Its a nice little Park with plenty of room to run your dogs, let your kids play on the playground, and theyve even set up a new archery range to be used. They also have a disc golf course with 18 holes that is fairly challenging and fun to play.

Had a great time! Its a beautiful little park tucked away from all the hustle and bustle. Dog park was nice and long, good for big dogs to run! There were about 5 or 6 pups there but it didnt feel crowded at all.

I do love this park. Great playground equipment, large pavilion with lights, small pavilion, walking trail, new archery set up, dog park. There is not much close parking and it would be even better if the big pavilion had fans to keep people a bit cooler in the summer, help keep mosquitos from biting and flies from landing on food. But its still pretty great!

This is a fun park. They need to turn on the water to the water fountains.

Its a good park with a large playground and dog park adjacent to the Aldridge Creek Greenway. The cons are that they built and archery park 30 feet from the edge of the playground.

Love This park...we bring our dog out here and he loves the wooded area that he can be free in and explore! They now have an archery center as well!

A good pair of dog parks. One for big dogs and one for small dogs. Bring bug spray though because the wooded area right next to the enclosures houses many misquotes.

Southside has a nice playground, good dog park which always appears to be in use, a greenway (can bike, walk, or run to the TN River (Ditto Landing), bathrooms, and a disc golf course. Maintained nicely. Safe Also a new archery course. Fun for the entire family young to old.

Fun park. But, theres no changing table in the mens room or in the family bathroom.

Its the closest disc golf course to play in South Huntsville. Unfortunately, the drainage is bad and it will be a water/ mud pit after it rains. You usually need to give it a couple days to dry out, but otherwise its solid. It also had a dog park area, archery area, park for the children, and access to the Greenway ️

Decent dog park, although it hasnt lived up to its potential yet. Brand new bathroom facilities, childrens playground that seems geared more to older children due to height of equipment, covered picnic tables, and access to Aldridge Creek Greenway.

This place is awesome. If you have kids or dogs its for you. Lots of playground equipment. They have different areas for different ages and some neutral areas. Theres benches for parents and grandparents and a pavilion for parties. There is also a community library. A fenced in dog area so your pets can run free and meet new friends. And easy access to the Greenway. So you could take your bike for a spin. Love this park.

It was really hard to determine the number of stars to leave. I love having a park of this caliber so close to where I am. Disc golf course, small and large dog parks, wooded working dog park, playground, greenway, and archery range. At one point they were planning on building some ball fields not sure which sport, but I think the plans got nixed because the archery range was built. There is still space but we will see what happens. Apparently the archery range was built because the state wanted one in Huntsville. It never gets used I would have preferred outdoor racquetball or something.The disc golf course is all right. I like Brahn Springs, UAH, and Monte Sano more. I go mostly for the dog park and greenway.Be very careful going to the dog park after a rain, it gets very muddy and floods. The whole thing used to be a swamp and farmland. Be careful going to the large dog section in the summer time there are not a lot trees so the dogs get very hot. Ive seen people put there large dogs in the small dog section because its shaded but that is just dangerous for the small dogs.The pavilion seems nice. It seems like there is a party every Saturday I go.

The dog park area is a little lacking but the working dog area is amazing. The playground is pretty cool, too.

Great place for pets and yourself

Last year I had my daughters birthday party under the pavilion and have been there many, many times with my class for field trips and we always have a wonderful time.

A fantastic dog park. I have only one negative and that is the man who brings his four uncontrollable standard poodles to the park. They are pack dogs and will go after any other dog. They run unleashed from his car barking incessantly to the dog park area. He had the 4 on a leash recently and was totally incapable of keeping them under control. I love this dog park but other people and their pets should be able to enjoy it also.
