Memorial park is my favorite park in Houston. If you love nature this is the park for you. You can have a picnic in the picnic loop, go running on the well maintained jogging paths, kayak through buffalo bayou, mountain bike on the trails, enjoy the golf course, or get lost in nature in many of the trails throughout the park. My wife and I love to bike around the picnic loop and hike the various trails. Take some time away from the busy city life and go explore the large park.

Wow, I had no idea this park was here. Lots of placed to walk, run, bike, etc. We walked our dog; had a great experience. They have areas for birthdays and get togethers; plenty of open green grass fields alongside large width path ways. Good distance provided as well; not sure how large the park really is; keeps going. Appears that its still under construction. Only down sides is that you have to search for parking; then pay for it. There are machines for this; very easy to use and not too expensive. And another down was that I didnt see any free dog poop bags. I mean, if Im paying for parking, you could at least throw in a free plastic bag for 3 cents. Other than this; great experience, great park. Looking forward to fighting for another parking spot so I can explore the other side once again.

The new Eastern Glades has opened and is spectacular! I took a quick stroll around the pond and pedestrian walkway. The environment is serene and beautiful. It doesnt feel like youre in a city anymore! There are also more paths and walkways all throughout, which will certainly provide more options and make the park feel less crowded. Im excited to continue exploring the new additions.

They have done A LOT with this park! The trails are dirt/gravel so not great for skates/blades/boards, but if you are biking/walking/running, its a great little stop! You can enjoy the wildlife and the sights just minutes from the roar of the city. I recommend this park for anyone whether local or in town for a visit.

Recently renovated added trails with mulch for easy walking, signs showing plants animals and history of the area, and visitor center offering tours as well as souvenirs. Fun time. Go with a partner, a backup charger, and light in case you get lost looking for an exit. It got dark out before we hit the second closure in our trail - right before our exit. The trail map was dark and hard to read. This is a superimposed map of where closures were last night on the upper west side, along the Yellow Trail, and what their map told us. It would be slightly more helpful to use Google Maps with charted trails and edit from there than to use an area terrain map to chart closures. Also, illuminated light sources for map reading.

I love walking at this park; the lawn and landscaping is tended to daily and it is always clean and welcoming. HPD is patrolling it regularly and it feels very safe. There are also several improvement projects taking place throughout the entire park and it is looking beautiful. I cant wait to see the finished product. I look forward to enjoying many more years of this wonderful green space. It only adds to my Houston pride!

Its nice to see all the upgrades going on new spaces being put in. The only downside is that you have to pay for it, so there is now more paid parking than free parking spaces - I supposed it was too good to last. Parking spaces, paid or not, can be tought to find sometimes. Other than that, its a great place to jog, play tennis, golf (if you can ever get a decent tee time), picnic, etc.

Very nice and clean. Parking is a dollar per 3 hours and they offer alot of free parking as well. Its 3 miles around for the pedestrian side. That has to be my favorite thing. Not having to worry about accidents with cyclists. Seems like they are doing alot of construction and its a little worrisome walking right next to the highway. But its only a small part of the walk.

Brand new east section is a brilliant upgrade. Designed for sustainable form, function and aesthetics.Though there is this nebulous signage well into grassy expanses saying the lawn is resting, is this supposed to mean keep of the grass? It certainly seems to be how it was interpreted this morning, or maybe its because Mental Park is dominated by path walker/exercisers. If so, maybe it should be closer to the start of the grass?

This is one of the prettiest golf courses Ive seen in a really long time. Not just because of COVID-19, but because its just that spectacular.I happen to be a vendor working the Houston Open, And as I pass by certain greens Im glad Im not playing on it. These greens look devious. But it is a beautifully maintained course and considering its a municipal course Im pleasantly blown away. wish I could play on it but Ill have to come back sometime when there isnt a pro golf tournament going on. Plus they have a double decker driving range which is pretty cool.

Memorial park is my sanctuary, its a place I know its also a place where Ive made very real friendships been inspired as well as motivated, the park give piece of mind and is where I get a great workout/run and on occasion connect with like minded people, the enhancements that are being made is going to make it that much more inviting and pleasurable to many more people who enjoy getting out and being active, but we have to do our part as park lovers to make a concerted commitment to leave it better then we found it for the next generation of runners and to help it maintain its World Class ranking as one of the top parks to visit for runners and such. This why it gets the Five Star rating fromThe Mayor of Memorial Park , as some of the elders and friends would Call me.....hahaha, but just call me an Admirer of the beauty that is Memorial Park.
