So the hours on Saturday are 1-5 now due to Covid. As of November 21st the paths are completely flooded, so no walking trails

Flooded after rain but a very nice place to hang out with family. There are picnic tables, a swing, camp sites, some hammocks and a nature museum. There were no fish in the tank when we went. Plenty of ducks in the pond which we fed. Will go there again.

Fun place to roam, fish and camp. Most of the staff is friendly. But me and a friend had a run in with a staff member when we were camping. Who didnt even know their own rules. And when we schooled him on it, he became increasingly aggressive. He said hes going to make sure the rules get changed about the distance you can leave your camp site. We had no fire, and we were there to fish. Why allow people to fish when youre camping if you cant leave your camp site?

Nice park but last three times I have been and paid to fish. I barely could catch a single catfish. Its supposed to be a stocked pond. Previously it was never a problem to catch plenty of catfish. I believe that the ponds are not stocked like they have been in the past.

So my family has only participated in the Monday Open Play in the front play area from 10-12. Today was my first time there in about 2 years due to adding a new baby to the mix. My 1.5 year old LOVED it. There were probably about 15-20 kids there at the peak, but everyone played extremely well together. Great mix of kids/families!! It is a more nature oriented playground. There is a fishing boat for the kids to play in. There are outdoor musical instruments like chimes and bells to play. There is a big hill for kids to climb and a tunnel that you can crawl through. There is an area with sheets that allows the kids to build a fort in their own configuration. There are blue foam blocks that you can build different shapes and things. Sometimes the staff will bring out other activities too! I would absolutely recommend attending! The sign says it is designed for 5-12 years old I believe but the younger kids definitely had more than enough to keep them occupied.

This is a very natural park. Parking is free. Staff is helpful. You can rent a John boat or kayak. There are a few trails to enjoy a scenic view of the natural Pitt county nature. This place is great for dogs too! Compost is available here. The park offers activities for children to explore and learn. The main path takes you all the way down to the Tar River, passing fishing sights and scenic views of swamps. By far the best park in Greenville/Pitt County. Perfect for a get away from the city and stress. Great place to relax.

I took my son here today and were impressed but there was room for improvement. We had to pay $3 but definitely enjoyed the turtle touch tank and still life exhibits but was impressed by the 10,000 gallon aquarium. It did need some help: a good cleaning, some plants and a new fish stock, but it was still cool to see the giant channel cat swimming about. We spent about 45 minutes inside and another half out our side but it was very hot so we could not stay as long as we wanted. The docs are in good shape and the walking trails go around by the water. There are also a few areas so play outside when it is not too hot along with covered picnic areas.

A piece of the great outdoors in this busy city. Across the Tar River from Greenville proper, River Park North offers a museum, bathrooms, acres of play areas, boating access, fishing piers, nature trails and educational opportunities as well as arts and crafts. To me its an underused asset of Pitt County. Great place to walk your dog...on a leash of course. FYI, watch out for poison ivy.
