As a veteran art educator and grandmother, I was delighted and impressed to observe a drawing lesson at Draw and Learn at Shelf Life in Greensboro. The instructor, Nina, is enthusiastic and excited about both the project of the day as well as the techniques and skills that the students will learn. She has a natural rapport with the students, and creates a fun, exploratory atmosphere which is also task oriented and focused on completing the project. The children were all very proud of their results. It was refreshing to see that the children did not compete for attention or for results and were confident and relaxed about their work regardless of their skill level. Setting a non-competitive, calm tone in an art room is very important. I would recommend Ninas classes to all levels and ages.
