We visited the first time for our engagement photo session. Its a really busy spot for photographers, so be mindful of that when you go. Depending on how busy Robinettes is, you might have trouble finding a parking spot. The photographers we ran into during our session were really polite, though. Theyre definitely aware of how nice the site is. The park is stunning! The middle open area is really fun to stand in and look at all the fall colors. The trails are well-maintained, and the signs are informative. Dogs are allowed on leashes. Definitely good to know as well be back. :DPC: Vague Photography

Nice walking and hiking trails. Not really for bicycles. The outer loop is just under a mile. There are a lot of trails that crisscross each other in the middle. Also, there is a decent sized open sand dune area around the middle. Lots of little wood forts have been built throughout the area. Fun place to take the kids.

A nice place, depending on day and season. Of your plan is to take photos its great. If you plan to have a picnic, probably not great due to the amount of people traffic taking photos.

It was a little busy because there was a wedding taking place and that filled up the parking lot, but the trails are well maintained and there were enough of them that we managed to stay out of the way of the wedding. I plan on visiting again!

This is a beautiful place to walk in the forest, and there is a hike up the sand dune towards the middle of the trail. The advanced trail is not very advanced, it is just a slightly longer walk with some uphill and downhills, still very pleasant. Love this place, it’s very peaceful and quiet. Right by Robinette’s!

Nice trails, well groomed, yet rustic. A nice little respite from local commotion. Trails were not challenging, but were very enjoyable to walk (or run on). Trail is well marked and the different routes are easy to follow and clearly marked on the map and on the route itself. Very peaceful and relaxing to enjoy some quiet time in a nature setting.

What an awesome place to go to get outside on a nice day. The longest loop is 9 miles but the shorter ones can be as small as 1. Its very popular, at least right now, so dont go there expecting to be completely isolated from other people but just a nice day to go for a nice walk and listen to the birds and maybe set up a hammock. Highly recommend.

Weve found this little hidden gem in Kent County. Dont let its small size fool you. There are several well marked trails, the outside perimeter being just under 2 miles however that 2 miles is packed with natural diversity. Woods, hills, descents, open areas, water, exposed root climbs, and even a small sand dune. We walk the perimeter and then reverse directions for another 2 miles. Changing direction adds to our miles and looks Luke a different trail. We tried out our ice cleats and trek poles (with ice tips) in preparation for the Ice Festival in Munising next week.

We absolutely loved taking our dog here. The trails make you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, yet it is right in Grand Rapids. The loop around the perimeter of the park is a great distance for a quick walk, or you can walk it multiple times or mix in some of the trails that cut across in order to increase your distance. There is a great mixture of hills and flat areas, and the trails are mostly very well-groomed and easy to navigate.

Excellent rural escape close to an urban environment. The park is just remote enough to provide an immersive natural experience while still being close to all the modern comforts just down the road. The longest trail is 1.5 km (0.9 mi), and its an easy hike for most people. The trails are sand by the central dune, but the yellow trail is packed dirt, and goes around the dune. Port-a-potty is available off the parking lot, if needed. The park is open from sun up to sun down, and is open year-round. In the winter, the hiking trails are used for cross-country skiing.

Nice little getaway. Wonderful rich pine air. A mix of coniferous and deciduous forest intermingled with sand dunes — an interesting mix. Makes for flat and sloping trails, some steep but still quite walkable in gym shoes, not too slippery. Open underbrush makes for a spacious feel while walking even enveloped under tree canopy. Very nice, but I was done walking all the trails before I knew it!

Great park. Went here for the 1st time tonight with a few friends. Great walk with a variety of paths that are clearly marked. Loved the scenery, took lots of pictures, and had a nice time. Beautiful area. Seems like everyone I met along the trails was friendly. Lots of people but not to crazy crowded, and loved that so many people had their dogs. The only downfall is that the parking area is a bit small...and it was hopping.Other than that no complaints. I would definitely recommend.

This is a beautiful park with multiple trail options, and a sand dune smack dab in the middle. Some of the trails are hilly, even a little steep, but the tree root systems provide natural steps. The trails are all natural, dirt paths. For some reason, the trailhead marker says the trail is much longer than it is from what Ive seen...not sure what thats all about.
