Attended a Holistic Arts and Crafts fair that included great food, jewelry, purses, fragrances, herbal health products. Then watched a movie in the park till the wind kicked up! Nice evening.
Very nice park. We enjoyed our pizza that we got from Hall Street Bakery just two blocks away under the pavilion at MLK Park. We found the park to be clean and well-maintained, with fun playground equipment and a public pool (closed for Covid, but looks nice). Though not crowded, there were other individuals and families enjoying the park, too. The playground has lots of shade, which we appreciated.
Great Park! It is huge and there are a lot of things to do great basketball and tennis courts and more. The city does a nice job maintaining the grounds.
I grew up across the street from this park. Its NOT the same. No football field, No kiddies pool. No 4 square or horse shoes. Tether ball is gone and the Basketball courts, Baseball diamonds and tennis courts have been moved.Park has lost its luster. :( sad
For a smaller park this one is pretty decent. It has a splash pad for summer time and is pretty well kept.
Not a bad place to play basketball, but lock your stuff up or keep it close by. My buddy got his phone stolen out of his bag by some punk kids...
MLK Park, what can I say about this place. I have alot of great memories at this place... and Im steady forging new memories at this place with my children... So like its a park.... We all got bad stuff and good stuff to tell about this place if you live and grew up in Da Gunz. So just take it with a grain of salt.
We miss swimming but still had fun with my grandchildren!
Great place in the neighborhood for the whole family to spend time together and have a blast.
Good place to go to eat lunch
Love swimming here. The slide is great! Staff very friendly too. Only down side is finding where to pay, its a little confusing, and walking in the creepy basement locker room hahaha. But other than that! Its dope!
Nice tennis courts, be mindful of where you step though - lots of dog poo! Other than that this is a nice park!
Was there for Southeast Farmers Market and had a great time
This park is a good family friendly place and it can be fun year round. Theres a playground and tennis courts basketball courts and a pool for summer fun.
Need more programs. Great place to take youth of all ages, with the amenities that are available. Could not have a better name for a park.
Its community based, I enjoy spending time there swimming, watching the children on the playground. Free concerts, and the overall ambience of just relaxing there. Whatever sport you fancy you can do there (weather permitting).
Me and cat had a lot of fun
Awesome place to take your family. They had safe family friendly events there all summer. The pool is awesome.
Well taken care of very nice park
It has a nice pool and tennis courts. In the summer sometimes special events are held theres. I went there and sat in under the trees. It was peaceful and relaxing. A lot of kids were there for the summer program.
That park is for everyone, and when i say everyone, i mean any and every body that loves the outdoors. Back than it was no fun because of crazy folks trying to rule over but my first time back there since GRADE school, it have brought it to be better.
Pleasant experience, friendly people gathering peacefully enjoying some great music. Excellent location.
Had a nice weekend at Martin Luther King Park with two very nice band The crowd was very nice and the food was great rib tips good..
Loved the activities and I felt safe. Lots yo do.Plenty of venders.
Very good fishing spots with bluegill, large mouth bass and crappie. There is also a trail that is very nice.
Very nice park! Fits ages from 2 yr old all the way to teenagers!! It has a nice and big parking space and open to the public!
Cool park, good location. Never been in the water park but, it looks nice. Boxing gym is awesome wish it was open.
A GR park with a legacy ! All ethnic groups top favorite for events for family with a pool!
Its a beautiful park
Nice and clean
Nice city park. Visited in order to view a couple of ArtPrize Project 1 items.
Great place to hang out they have a park a bunch of tennis courts, a great pool, and on Thursday they have out free hamburgers and hotdogs to give back to the community it is a great place and I would recommend!
Dangerously-spiky Sweet Gum Tree pods litter the entire ground beneath the ill-kept childrens playground equipment. There are tennis & basketball courts, a soccer/baseball field, a neat workout ring and, a few weeks in the summer, a pool & slide open.
Pretty nice park
I think it was really fun because kids get to exercise and stuff I like it because u get to swim at the end
Workout spot for abs and pull ups
The slide was off at the pool. Over it was clean and cheap summer fun.
Beautiful park
The park has plenty of space for basketball, tennis or just to play. The area with slides and such is a decent size and even has places that are signed with suggested workouts. There is also a public pool complete with a slide.
Nice community park to meet up with friends in the neighborhood
Came here for the beginning of ArtPrize and visited the Mobile ACT, made a flag, climbed the buried house, checked out the quilted building
Awesome park for everything, you wont be disappointed.
Nice place for you to take you kids for a nice swim and play
Why is the pool closed on hottest day of year at 5pm???? Wtf
It is a nice place from 2 years ago dont remember much.
A great park that always has lots of social events and teams and markets and stuff. Awesome.
Nice park
Nothing like a youth baseball game.
Very clean and nice inside. Ty
Spacious and the only intercity park with a pool.
The pool is lovely. $2 adults $1kids. There are 6-12life guards who are super attentive (you could nap as your kids swim!). There arent chairs, but plenty of places in the grass and around the pool to lay out. The snack bar is pitiful but cheap. Bring a dollar for each kid and they have a snack feast of cheetos, airheads, popsicles, and ice cream. It is a beautiful, huge, well-kept pool. And the people smart enough to come here reflect the blending pot if America. It is impressive.
Nice pool you can bring food
My granddaughter really enjoyed her self
Good sized city park. Parking lot and street parking. City pool open in the summer. Gets busy.
Went swimming there a few times this summer. Every time I went there the same kids were there, getting into arguments with other children and cursing. I felt bad for the lifeguards they had to put some kids in time out from swimming and a cop even showed up.
Fun park the kids love it. We also love the pool.
Park needs to be better taken care of. Weeds everywhere, pool house needs painting inside, grass dieing. Is it because, it is a inner city park?
Great location and has a swimming pool!
First time at the pool with my four kids 8 and under. So my 8 and 6 year old deside to go jump of the diving board and of course my 4 year old wants to follow suit. So I ask the life guard working the section if my son can jump with his arm/chest flotation devise. He says no because he cant swim and no one is allowed in the pool while people jump. So a few minutes later the lifeguards switch posts and I ask the new one if my 4 year old can jump off the diving board. She says YES ! As long as he wears a flotation vest. Sweet! So the kids jump for about an hour. Suddenly a lifeguard superviser comes over and tells everyone that no one under 10 years old are allowed to jump of the diving board !!! What !?! Since this is my first time there I got nothing to go by. Then a mom watching her daughter jump says to the superviser that her girls ages 5, 8 have been using the diving board since the pool opened over a month ago and now your going to tell me they cant jump !!! Are you kidding me ! This place is a joke !!! The pool served its purpose but very poorly managed.
Fun place to take kids who loves to swim also has alot more to offer theres a park with grils, basketball court, and tennis courts
Visited for a festival and it was a nice experience
For all the times Ive been here I never went to the pool. Its very nice, the gaurds are very watchful.
