Lots of dog generally. The ground is wood chips but mostly dirt. A bunch of dogs running ,drooling, drinking and dirt equals a lot of mud so be prepared. Seems like nice people with fairly trained dogs. Ive only seen a couple of fights but Ive only been there 4 or 5 times.

This park is busy, but nice. It is a good place to let your dog stretch their legs and socialize a bit. A good amount of benches for owners to sit and decent shade. With the constant use, the grass doesnt get a chance to grow, so it is mainly dirt and some woodchips- but my dog loves rolling around in it just the same.

PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH! Love this dog park and all the pups and fur parents but want to make everyone aware of what happened to me there today. I was inside the large dog park area with a few people and their dogs and upon leaving, found my passenger car door window smashed and my backpack (with wallet inside) was gone from my car. Someone came through the lot and did this while we were in the park and my car was fully locked. We all remember hearing a smash but did not think anything of it. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THEFT AND KEEP YOUR VALUABLES ON YOU AT ALL TIMES!!!!!

Its just a BIG fenced in area. Its lit so if you have to wait til dark, you can still take your pup out. Its open year round (but they turn the water off in the winter) and most of the people and dogs here are great.Theres two areas, one for small dogs and puppies and one for larger dogs. On any given day, dogs of any size could be in here. Ive seen corgis hold their own quite well, it all just depends on how your dog reacts to big dogs and how proactive you can be if your dog gets into trouble.

Great place to take the dogs for some free fun! It has two big areas, one for small dogs and one for big dogs. Its nothing special, no obstacles or anything like that, but is relatively well taken care of and free. Obviously with a free dog park you never know whos dog is going to show up and bite your dogs throat, but overall the dogs here have caring owners that are aware. I recommend highly especially if you live within 15 minutes or so from here!

Overall: Im new to this park and have been here several times at different times of the day. It offers lots of shade and a large area for dogs to run around. However when humidity is high and in the summer months (June/July) the shade does nothing to prevent dogs and dog-parents from overheating. Though I have had great conversations with people here, it does not have a welcoming and friendly culture like some other dog parks Ive done. It feels more neutral. There are a lot of benches to sit down however depending on the time of day they dont always provide much shade. A suggestion for this dog park would be to add more coverage for the benches. Also water is not easily accessible here so adding direct water access to refill the dog water bowls in both the large/ small dog section would make this place so much better. This place usually has 10 dogs present at a minimum and Ive noticed they run out of water very fast and not every one bothers getting them water.DOG OWNERS: PLEASE DO NOT bring in young children or small children into the large dog section! Ive seen many close calls and a few times smaller kids knocked down by dogs playing hard! Even if YOUR large dog and child are comfortable around eachother doesnt mean that will be the case with other dogs. Keep in mind many of these dogs are over 100 lbs and playing very hard with each other! Ive seen people bring in their toddlers in with little regard to the power and size behind the dogs! Also PLEASE do some research on dog body language and dog behavior before going to any dog park! Ive seen many ignorance go around at dog parks when interpreting dog behavior. Also be very comfortable & confident with all types of dogs when coming here knowing dogs here are super excited meaning that: they will hump on you, they will lick you, they will bark at you and so forth and this does NOT mean they are being aggressive! Ive seen too many times very friendly dogs being accused of being aggressive by ignorant people. If you aren not comfortable & confident around these behaviors then you should NOT go to dog parks. Dogs are VERY SMART and they can detect/ feel when someone is afraid and only lead dogs to react to that behavior! Same thing ties in with children, if they arent comfortable and the dogs detect their fear than dogs dont like this! Same rules apply for small dogs. THEY DO NOT BELONG in the large dog section. Ive seen this happen at least every time Ive gone to this dog park! What the heck are you thinking? Taking your small, often-times barking dog in with the large dogs. This throws all the larger dogs off!!! DONT DO IT. Small is small & large is large!! FOLLOW THE RULES.You guys know what you are signing up for. Please be considerate and inform yourselves!

Great place to bring your dog(s). They offer free poop bags to clean up after your pets mess. I love how its situated on a slight hill so no water collects and creates a puddle. Most of the field is covered in wood chips which I like also. Although it may not be the prettiest park in Grand rapids, its one of the best for canines.

I like how close this dog park is to my house and the fact that its free is awesome. My dog loves it and gets so excited when we pull up to the driveway. The amount of space this park has for large and small is a great improvement on what it was a few years ago.Only downside is not everyone looks after what their dog is doing, Ive witnessed a few fights where no one took action. Other than that its a great park.

I have two small dogs, the small dog area was empty, so I went into the large dog area, where there was a handful of dogs playing. My dogs kept to the fence area to sniff each corner. The large dogs were well behaved, they sniffed my small dogs, but didnt initiate playing. Their owners were also very respectful and directed their dogs away from mine. The dog park itself is small but the people there were all very nice and laid back.

Review №63

Its good. It is large and has a small dog section seperate from the big dog section. Double door entry. Good amount of seating for people. Some improvements could be: Poop bags arent usually filled up. The ground needs a little more wood chips consistently. Could use a running water tap to refill water, as the only system in place are water jugs.Edit: The lights have been fixed which is a great improvement.

I have brought my dog here several times over the past year. The big dog side is rowdy during busy times. The small dog side is small and muddy, unless there hasn’t been rain for a week. Today, my dog was attacked on the small dog side. Prior to being attacked, the owner asked her dog multiple times, while in the fenced in entryway, “are you going to play nice?” She struggled to get control of her dog and did not apologize. I now have over $200 in vet bills. Watch out for the irresponsible owners who should not bring their aggressive dogs to the dog park.

Ive been twice so far, and both my dogs and I love it! The dog owners there are very courteous and clean up after their animals, refill the water bowls, and will diffuse any tense situations between dogs. The park has two areas--one for large dogs and another for small dogs. The area for big dogs is much more spacious, and usually much more full. (Note: I have a 21lb. dog who thinks hes 60lbs., and he gets along just fine with the big kids.) Lots of areas for owners to sit and chat. So far, everyone Ive met there has been very nice and will even play with strangers dogs, which makes for a very warm and welcoming environment.Theres a constant stream of dogs in and out, which is great if you are trying to socialize your dog. There are also complementary doggy bags, and lots of balls left around the park. All in all, its a great little park, and I plan on bringing my dogs every week.

Nice little dog park. Everyone seems to take good care of their dogs too, picking up after them, filling water bowls, breaking up fights before they happen. Theres a separate area for smaller breeds or puppies, but sometimes it can be quite empty. Not well lit at night. A little spooky feeling.Parking lot is small and tends to fill up in the summertime, but street parking and two additional lots off of Fuller, by the basketball courts make up for it.

Convenient place to let the dogs loose to let them run and play. Occasionally see some aggressive dogs but Ive found most owners put an end to the aggression quickly. Grateful there are 2 sides - one for the larger dogs and one side for smaller dogs and puppies. Thankful someone leaves tennis balls, ropes and there are drinking bowls available. Not sure where people fill up the water jugs but know its nearby. Im also glad there are benches to sit for the owners when your pet is busy playing and not demanding your attention.

3.5 to 3.75 there is a water tap on site but its location is a bit of a walk to try and carry back jugs of water from. Wood chips are used instead of grass but they break down too fast and there can be large areas of mud that limit play space or youll have a dog to clean up.Not against the park but not all patrons are willing to perform cleanup duties of their pets or choose not to intervene when their pet becomes a little too excitedNice large park with plenty of space for dogs of all sizes. Theres even an attached small dog area for those smaller critters that are easily overwhelmed or too young to play with the big guys. Parking is plentiful and a double gate system keeps pets from escaping any time someone wishes to leave or enter.

Absolutely loved this park. This was my first time taking my 5 month golden retriever puppy and he had a blast. There are two parks, one for larger dogs and another for puppies/smaller/shy dogs. At first, I brought my golden to the larger dog area because the smaller puppy area had tiny dogs and I was hesitant to bring my bud in there since he was a lot bigger in size compared to them. Right when we got in the large dog area, there was another larger dog that wouldnt leave mine alone and started to bite his ears. There was a lot of territorial activities going on among the other large dogs and to be honest, I was quite scared of some of them. I decided to just try the small puppy area and my little guy loved it. He was kind and gentle and didnt hurt any of the small ones. The people were so nice and everyone was very responsible. I will definitely come back.
