We randomly stopped here after a short hike earlier in the day, and decided to have lunch on the grass by the sea wall. It was gorgeous, well kept, and postcard perfect! Walking along the seawall and watching boats coming in and out was perfect. Highly recommend for a nice outing, whether you want to picnic, take pictures, dig in the sand, play tennis, play bocce, or just walk around.

Wonderful place for kids to run and play. Great playground with lots of fun structures to climb on. Restrooms on site. Ocean access on a rocky beach made for lots of beachcombing fun. We live almost an hour away, and it was the perfect place for an adventure day with my 4 year old. We will definitely be back!

Lovely park with a playground for the kids, access to a small beach, great place for a picnic lunch and swim. Gets crowded on hot days. Has a public restroom. There is a restaurant here as well serving things like fried clams and chicken fingers etc.

What a beautiful park. Me and my 3 kids spent all day there yesterday. So much to do and see. Plenty of parking and no problem social distancing. The park was very clean. We were there 5 hours and still need to go back to see the rest of it. To big for one day. The beaches were amazing with a lifeguard. Just a beautiful place to spend the day...

Its a beautiful place to be, whether you enjoy well-done landscapes or waterviews and beaches. The rocky side of the water has clear water but when i went there was also plenty of seaweed which wasnt too bad, but the water was crystal clear. Probably wouldnt go for a swim. But its nice to dip into for a while.

I have been coming here since I was a teenager. A LONG time ago lol. Its a GREAT family spot as well as couples or ANYONE. There are huge grassy areas, play area for kids, a little beach cove. Plus a long stretch of beach. Great views and a huge bunch of rocks to climb up on. Be careful with little ones on the rocks. You can also BBQ here. Its just a fun place to enjoy nature and breathe the fresh ocean air.

One of the best parks in Gloucester. Great playground for all ages, multiple open space areas for picnics or throwing frisbee, large rocks for kids to explore and climb, incredible views of the ocean, beautiful historic location with life-size cannons, 2 beaches for swimming in the summer, separate dog park for the pups, tennis courts and baseball field, food stand for summertime, bathrooms open in summertime

Love the idea of being able to grill by the ocean. Small cove beach. Calm water. Great for younger kids. Not a lot of room on the beach, especially when the tide comes in. Amazing views, very scenic with lots of rocks to climb. Theres even a baseball field and park for small children. Not many benches so a table and your chairs if you dont arrive early. Bring your own grill as well.

One of our new favorite places on the North Shore. Beautiful views, plenty of lawn space for laying out. You can walk a great ways here and find beaches both for people and a couple fog friendly ones. Our dog loved meeting the many dogs along this walk. We also noticed people hammocking and grilling out. Seems like a great family spot, but would also make a great spot for a date.

You might call this ‘The Dust Bowl!’ Broken glass everywhere, no green grass due to no sprinkler system and lack of shade by natural trees. To add insult to this place, they charge $20 for parking with large signs stating “ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS”. Interesting. I’m sure many have been duped into coming here only to quickly regret like we did. Don’t bother. Save your $$ and take a trek over to Wingaersheek beach or Good Harbor. There seems to be a beach although we didn’t stay long enough to venture down to it. Maybe that’s this parks saving grace. Who knows.

Nice walking park, right beside the bay. No dogs on beach during the summer. Dogs on leash only. Im not from Gloucester and only came to use the dog park - I had to pay the $20 parking anyway. So, I walked around so Id get my $ worth! Good up and downish place to walk; lots of families and even a tiny bit of diversity! What a great place for a baseball diamond!

This is by far the best state park in Massachusetts weve been to as it fits our family perfectly. The views are amazing, there are plenty of picnic tables around the area, the playground is great. It even has a free parking. The only complaint is that the restrooms close early (at 5?), so better be careful having a coffee on your way there!
