Great experience! Took the ghost tour with my 9 year old son. It was really special we didn’t know what to expect. The tour was very informative and fun. We lucked out with great weather and it was just the two of us in the horse and carriage. We learned so much about Frederickburg would love to do another tour one day during the day

I saw the carriages in old town and though how cool! I had wanted to use it at some point, but wasn’t sure for what. Then I heard about the ghost tours and instantly booked! I am so glad that I did! It was a wonderful experience. We had a great time and our tour guide was literally incredible ! So cheerful and knowledgeable. He has funny and personable. I also was extremely happy to learn that the horses are treated very well and they’re not overworked. That alone is enough for me to recommend them.

My husband, and I did the private tour for our anniversary. It was absolutely amazing, we had a wonderful time. We had so much fun we have already booked another one. This time the Christmas tour, for our family. We are super excited ! Thank you for the wonderful experience, we cant wait until the next one! We signed up for the Ghosts, Murder & Mayham long tour and we were not disappointed. Ms. Stacy & Faith were absolutely wonderful. It was such a relaxing ride, and she shared so much history, stories & her own personal experiences that the time just flew by. As my husband and I just moved here from GA. she also pointed out the Living History museums we could visit and other points of interest that would be fun to see. We truly had a wonderful experience & highly recommend!

Went on a carriage ride for our anniversary. It was just the 2 of us, and it was so cool! We got to see Old Town FXBerg, and it was at sunset-and so romantic!! Great date night idea!!

We never made it there, my wife got sick an hour before pickup, I talked to the OWNER and hopefully we can try again in March. Im hoping her word is good and she understands how important great customer appreciation is to small businesses is in the Fredericksburg Area

The private tour was for my wife’s birthday. We both enjoyed it very much and our guides knowledge was extraordinary. Well worth the time and a value evening out. Our guide also recommended a restaurant which was excellent barbeque. We’ll be doing this again, in the Spring.

Booked a carriage ride for my daughters birthday and she absolutely loved it! She felt like a princess (which was what I was going for) I would definitely recommend olde towne carriage tours.

Absolutely loved doing the Ghost Tour! I have lived in Fredericksburg all my life and I enjoyed an evening carriage ride in my city. Our driver, Reagan, was very personable and did a great job keeping us entertained. Highly recommended. We will be doing this again sometime.

The haunted history carriage ride in Fredericksburg, VA is worth it, especially if you are to go on a crisp October evening as I did! A city recently recognized as the most haunted city in America will definitely have a ghost story that will impress you. The tour was approximately 75 minutes and the amount of stories and stops the tour guide can make is endless. So make your reservations and do not hesitate to get a little spooked.

We booked the Witches, Ghost, Thieves, Murder and Mayhem Tour for my birthday. Cara and Faith made the experience the perfect mix of fun, informative, and spooky. We loved the opportunity to see the beautiful historic homes at dusk and hear about the history of the area. Very highly recommended!

Raven was our house and Reagan was our tour guide/driver. We had a wonderful night and loved getting to know Reagan. We all have young adult children the same age, so we felt very comfortable with her. She told us ghost stories on our tour and explained parts of the history of Fredericksburg. We had an amazing tour guide Eric and his little side kick Connor! They were both amazing with my kids. At the end we got to take photos in the carriage and with the horse. The kids got to touch/pet the horse and watch Eric feed her a carrot! Miss Patricia was a good girl!

This was really an amazing experience for my daughter and I... ZeMiya Queen Johnson really had a wonderful time.. Her smile was priceless when she seen Mr. Tony her Horse!!! The carriage tour is the best way to see Fredericksburg. We saw lots of places that would ordinarily be overlooked. Cara is an awesome carriage driver, and her knowledge of Fredericksburg’s history is quite impressive. Definitely one of the best experiences!

We had a scheduled tour tonight but I was called and given the option of rescheduling or a refund due to slick roads from the rain through out the day. Unfortunately, I had to do the refund as I’ll be leaving town for a month. However, I think that they were very polite and I appreciate that they prioritize the safety of their employee/ horses/ and passengers. The lady that I spoke to was very nice and I promptly received an email confirming the processing of refund. When I come back to town, and if the tour is available, I will most definitely be signing up for the tour! Thank you for your professionalism.

Brilliant! Loved the carriage ride! Fredericksburg is a quaint little town and full of history. The carriage driver, Peyton, was a sweet southern belle up from Charleston. She gave a fascinating tour and answered all our questions knowledgeably. She even threw in some great anecdotes and funny stories. I highly recommend this carriage tour.

What a nice ride this evening, it was cold, but Stacey had nice warm blankets for us and the evening was spectacular. My wife and I really enjoyed the time touring the area at dark and Stacey was very informative and accommodating of us. We would very much suggest a ride if you have an hour to do it. Well worth the price you pay! We will do it again for sure!

We went this past weekend for their Frozen themed carriage ride. My kids had a blast and so did we. They were very prompt and easy to work with. We contacted the day before due to threats of rain the day of and we were assured that we would be taken care of regardless of weather. The carriage was clean and they had blankets for laps as it was a bit chilly. We were blown away with the quality and service and look forward to our next ride soon!

I was called to reschedule twice in a 3 week period! The first time was due to some sort of horse emergency and the second time was because they double booked us with another family and decided to give that family our rescheduled time slot. They also decided to call us with this information an hour before our booked time on both occasions. 2 stars because the first cancellation was an unprecedented accident but the second was just unprofessional.

I suppose I would give experience 3.5 stars. We booked a Frozen character carriage ride and it said come ride with Anna and Elsa!However Anna and Elsa were the carriage drivers and not in the carriage. I was expecting (maybe incorrectly) that the two characters would be IN character (meaning someone who does that as an business), but it seemed that the two young ladies worked for the carriage company and were just dressed up (although they were spot on for the costumes from Frozen 2). The characters were sweet and talked to the kids a little during the 15 min ride and took a picture afterward, but it was not the experience of MEETING a character (interaction/banter based on their story lines, sing along, etc).My two young girls loved the ride and the ice cream and craft included afterward. If not for those two perks I would have been disappointed in the event.

My wedding was this weekend September 21st. Prior to my wedding I was contacted multiple times to confirm times and pick up/drop off locations. I was using the carriage as transportation to the church from the reception venue and then from the church to the reception venue which could have easily been confusing. The driver was prompt and courteous. The carriage ride was the highlight of the wedding for all of us. The driver even called to confirm which street he would be waiting on in the morning as well as to discuss the weather. I cannot say enough about this service. Worth every penny, plus the carriage makes for beautiful pictures. Also worth a mention that the driver was deeply concerned about the horses well being which made me feel really good about using Olde Towne carriage.

My husband and I have gone on these twice around Christmas time now. Both times have been excellent. They were on time, very accommodating, and very friendly. During Christmas, they give you a history of Fredericksburg, or the option to just sit and enjoy the ride with some quiet music. They even gave us a little gift afterwards. We would highly recommend taking a ride with Older Towne Carriage Tours!

It is well worth the money. Carriage drivers are very knowledgeable and provided great history of Fredericksburg.

I am a current customer but I actually worked for this company and the previous carriage company. There can not be enough said about the way this company is run. It is very very small and the owner wears many hats, as all people and companies they are not perfect, but I have never seen a more professional company. They take great care of their horses, they have great tour guides and this is a very hard business to run. The owner has to manage the horses, the business and the farm. Kudos to them, check out their other reviews on Facebook.

I have been using Olde Towne Carriages for years, when a guests, family, and clients comes in they go on a tour. This is by far the best tour in town. The company is seasonal but are open most weekends March thru December. The have always provided great service.

Used this company for our wedding. They were professional, punctual and flexible with requests. The horse and carriage were decorated very well, and they helped to make our day so special. Thank you!

We had a great experience using Olde Towne Carriages for our wedding baraat! The horse and carriage were very authentically decorated for our Hindu ceremony, which is difficult to find in the Virginia area but the travel fees to Charlottesville were very reasonable. After the recessional the driver took my husband and I on a short trip around the square in the carriage, which was a lovely moment of peace for us in the middle of a hectic wedding day and one of my favorite memories of the night!

Disappointed in this company. We called them in advance because 2/3 of our party could not make it due to their flights being cancelled. When they answered, the attendant yelled to staff while we were awaiting help. She yelled, RYAN, WHAT THE HELL? She said that we could not be refunded even though 4 out of 6 peoples flights were cancelled, which is completely out of our control. Even though WE (2 people) can still attend tonight, wed rather spend our time elsewhere. Cutting our losses. I will not recommend this company to anyone I know.

I went on a carriage tour with my family for the weekend and it was perfect! Our carriage driver and tour guide was very knowledgeable of all the historical sites.

We had the pleasure of touring the amazing historic City of Fredericksburg on 9/7/2019; what an outstanding experience! Faith was our steam engine that day and our guide...she was personable, pleasant, and knowledgeable!Ive lived in Fredericksburg for several years and though I had seen the carriages in downtown time and time again, I hadnt taken the opportunity to enjoy one. This is something that my best friend, Nikki and my son Jeremiah, have continued to rave about even now. The City came to life in ways that only a horse and carriage can do, history became reality for an hour and you could almost visualize the Colonial and Civil War periods.Thank you for all that you do, for the time that you take, and the expertise that you bring to Fredericksburg. You can count on us joining you again for the Haunted ride and Jingle Bell tours this season!

So I was driving past and my son saw the horse in the carriage and hes only 6 years old so he was so happy to see a horse in frisbee cuz hes never seen one so I turned around and go back the food in his little driveway where there was sitting at in the lady freaked out on me talk about this in private property no trespassing she dont care that I need to get out of there what a rude piece of doo doo she is and then was yelling at the little boy which is suing her son you can best believe I would never use these people for anything like that to beat or around Fredericksburg I could drive myself for her to come like she did was very uncalled for she is a nasty woman that needs to be fired...

Our family has been riding with Olde Towne Carriages for seven years, we do the Christmas Jingle Bell Rides as a family tradition. We have always been treated with respect and have gotten to know the owner. She is very professional and hardworking we would defiantly recommend this company. Not only do they provide a wonderful tourist attraction they host many different events one of our favorites is the Fredericksburgs Fall Fairy Festival.

Excellent experience with a U 16 girls soccer team. The owner was so flexible and easy to work with. The kids loved it and were talking about it for days. Don’t pass this up.

Not only have I ridden with Olde Towne carriages, they are my neighbor and they not only take care of customers but excellent care of their horses.

Awful customer service!EDITED TO ADD: It took a year & a bad review to finally respond to me. Last year, I accidentally booked their haunted carriage tour, thinking it was in Fredericksburg, Texas. Of course, this was my silly mistake but I called multiple times, left voice mails & emails to see if they could issue at least a partial refund since the tour was many months out. I care far less about the refund than the fact that I was ignored. Now the owner (Christine Kovacs) thinks she can dismiss me again, as if I thought she just didn’t show up? Nope. Maybe if she spent as much time on customer service as she does tracking people down on FB Messenger & arguing with reviewers, Old Towne Carriage Tours wouldn’t have as many bad reviews as it does.

I have been on the Historic, Ghost tour, and Jingle Bell Tours in downtown Fredericksburg. I thoroughly enjoyed each one. The owner was very knowledgeable to the history not only in facts but with human interest stories. She was very accommodating to her passengers and her horses are well taken care of. Her carriages are clean and supplied with warm blankets. I went when it was nice weather, then again extremely cold. I loved every minute. The carriages are on time and stick to schedule. The drivers allow time for photos and make sure children can pet the horses safely. Thank you for giving this area a great family activity.

OMG! I had the best experience and birthday celebration ever. The staff was so patient with me in regards to accommodations, they were so courteous. The history while sightseeing made my day Indelible. I will definitely recommend Olde Town Carriage. My two hours drive was well compensated, I felt like a Queen. Five star tour. Our guide was great, the carriage was nice. I dropped a star because of booking. I tried to book online twice and it didnt work, finally it worked the next day. But the day of I got a call to confirm my cancellation which I never cancelled. Our horse faith was a little antsy but the guide was good with the horse. The guide showed up right at ten minutes before and was knowledgeable and courteous and dealt with my three kids very well.

If I could give a -100 . I would! I called to book a tour and the female who answered the phone was VERY VERY RUDE! She basically called me stupid for not reading the Facebook site correctly. The reason I called was for clarification. I tried to push through the rudeness to get me questions answered and she began lecturing me about not reading the website and Facebook site. She would not give me the time of day!!! Sad. JUST READ THE REVIEWS ABOUT THE OWNER. I am not alone in this review!!!!

Basing our trip as we went on weather I bought the tickets. Immediately realizing I made a mistake. I called several times to no answer so I emailed. We were only traveling through Baltimore so I thought nice we will take a break. They waited several hours until the next day to respond meaning it was too late to change the time. So we wouldn’t be able to go. So I emailed to cancel. Then being told there is no refund. I will never use this company or a side bar of it and I will make sure next year when my scouts come there that we do not use them either. It’s asinine.

My wife and I were at a party this evening with friends and reminiscing about our experience with this company.We booked the ride well in advance if the holidays and all four of us, my wife and kids were so looking forward to it.A few days before both kids came down with the flu. When we explained the situation to the owner she not only refused to let us reschedule but accused my wife of being “vicious” for doing attempting because we knew the policy.. and because her staff was working so hard on Christmas Eve.It’s painful to see this company on business 3 years later. Spend your money on the trolley.Google places made me give at least one star!

We had the driver Stephanie and the horse Tony take us from the church after we got married to the location we were taking pictures! Everything went smoothly and we had A LOT of bubbles and Tony was a champ about not freaking out over them like a lot of horses would! It was very hot outside and they were very patient and polite during pictures. Much like the other reviews- the owner was very rude. I guess I should have done more research. I will never book with Olde Towne Carriages again. I booked a ride for my boyfriend’s birthday for 2pm on December 26th. Unfortunately the traffic on the way down to Fredericksburg was horrendous- I called at 1 pm letting her know that we would be late, and to see if there was anything that can be done. I had to leave a voicemail, as there was no answer. I then called a few more times the closer we got. This whole time thinking, there would be a solution, otherwise the phone would have been answered, and we would have Been given other news. We arrived at 2:15- late, I understand, but still hoping for a short ride, as I had already paid for her time for the whole hour, and it was a birthday gift. We saw her driving away as we walked up, we were then able to catch up and ask if we could hop on and finish the rest of our hour. She was terribly rude, and just said “you’re late, I can’t” and drove away before the conversation was even over. I checked my phone and had received a voicemail a few minutes before saying the the ride was leaving and non- refundable, again in a very rude tone. I am shocked that the customer service was this bad. I understand we were late, but that does not condone how we were treated, given that I had already paid for the hour.

Bought tickets for the Cinderella Holiday ride last night to surprise my SO. I contacted them several times about a request to have a place to propose, and to make sure the weather wasnt too cold for the ride. They were very quick to respond, and very helpful every time I talked to them. We initially got into the wrong carriage, and got a wonderful historical tour of Fredericksburg before our Cinderella carriage caught up to us and picked us up (while not intentional, it will be a great memory for years to come). We were dropped off at Hurkamp Park so I could propose to her, and our driver was great with letting us take a few minutes, and then take photos in the carriage. Everyone I interacted with was professional and very well versed in historical and Christmas information about the town. I would absolutely recommend Olde Towne Carriage to everyone

You screwed my birthday plans. Now I’m screwing your review rating. Zero stars if I could. You rude and inconsiderate people.Edit. You did NOT try to reach me when I was late. We chased after the carriage and tried to get on for the remainder of our time we payed for. The carriage driver said “sorry about your luck” and kept on down the street.

This carriage ride was a gift for my parents. Their experience with the owner was much like the others. They said the owner was rude and not very accommodating. I was thinking about purchasing a ride for my brother and his wife as an anniversary gift, but I think I will look elsewhere!

Did the Santa ride last year for my 3 year old grandaughters birthday. It was amazing. She wants to do it again!

Olde Towne Carriages does not discriminate against anyone and Olde Towne Carriages gives carriage rides we are not in the business of giving customers rides on our horses.Olde Towne Carriages has to deal with many personalities, people who feel bad for our horses and accuse us of abusing them (which is not true, our horses are part of our family and very well taken care of) and then there are people who think our animals are machines that they should go on and on like a car, bus or other vehicle.It is a fine balance to keep our horses happy and healthy. As a responsible animal owner we do not ever over burden our animals and yes there are weight limits as to how much an animal can safely pull and how much they can carry. If this insults someones feelings we are sorry that is the way it is, the animals welfare comes before the desires of unreasonable people. Our carriage holds six individuals and we dont ask our horses to carry adults or children who are over the weight of 275 lbs, they are not large horse and asking them to do so is abuse.

Spoke with owner to try to reschedule because of weather and she said we could only reschedule if it was “pouring down rain”.She was very rude.I would not recommend.
