I agree with most folks that this is a good pick for dispersed camping very close to Flagstaff. I recommend heading up the road where there more remote campsites. The main drag close to the highway had a lot of vagrancy happening. Turn into the actual trailhead on your right and then take the next left. That road is where there are some really nice spots.

This is by far the best place to camp in Flagstaff so far for me! Lots of places to choose from, clean and open. Very quiet. Also, very easy to find.

Awesome, low-traffic trailhead with several options to custom-tailor your length of trail and difficulty. Access to Arizona Trail about 3 miles up primary trail.

Great mountain biking and dispersed camping site. The only problem is the uphill (or downhill depending on direction you take) Jeep road to get to the single track. But fun, fast, well maintained trails.

Great dispersed camping area. Take the first left to be able to camp further in the forest away from the road, which will most likely be lined with campers. Right now its closed because this area is in stage 3 fire restrictions. But earlier in the spring the forest service hired loggers to come in and thin the trees. Its actually been going on all around Flagstaff. In a couple years those areas will be beautiful tho. And the closure could change...its finally raining today. Ok

I went here for the free camping all around the trailhead. No restrooms, no running water, no trash cans, no electricity. Its a true boondocking experience so close to town.
