Very quiet and peaceful. The trail was wide and level and the signs gave interesting information. Not much wildlife to watch, though, except a few chipmunks and birds. Perhaps a morning visit would have better viewing.
I love this trail. The signs, accessability, and remoteness is highly enjoyed. Theres one loop that is paved/shorter and another that continues back into the forest and through a small aspen grove.
Great easy trail to walk. Informative history and nature signs. Saw some squirrels and birds
I passed this park I dont know how many times between Grand Canyon and Flagstaff. I never stopped until I discovered geocaching. Let me tell you... this place is beautiful! Please stop for a visit. Its amazing! Such beauty, such peace. Youll not be sorry.
This place is magical! So quiet that you can hear a pin drop
Following the recommendation from the review here, we went to play snow at this park. Its a nice place and fewer people. The snow is fresh and clean for building snow man or snow fight. However, there is only a small slope, no good for sledding. If you want to sled on the snow, check the entrances to Fire Rd 151& 794.Just drive a little further away from Flagstaff for a better place.
I enjoyed it, but would have liked to have been here during the migration season.
Nice roadside park outside Flagstaff. Great views, with a couple interpretive hiking trails offering a nice place to stop and stretch your legs or use the bathroom (pit toilets on site) on the way to the Grand Canyon. Plenty of parking.
Cute little trail. Still lots of snow and ice this time of year. Saw lots of animal prints! Did this since the lava tubes were closed off. We enjoyed the short walk.
Didn’t see any wildlife but it was cold and windy on a Late November day. Might be better at other times of year and might be a good place to take the kids. Great stop in the middle of the drive from Flagstaff to Grand Canyon as there are bathrooms here.
Very beautiful place for low impact hiking
Went up to Flagstaff to play in the snow with kids. Found most places too full to park, but when we got to this area, plenty of parking, restrooms, and a great place to bring kids to play in the snow. Also found several small hills to sled down. Made a snowman in fresh snow, and found this is a very safe place. People visiting for the day were grilling food on portable grills. I wish I did that, we got hungry and had to leave to go eat after 4 hours of having fun. Favorite place so far.
Went up to go sledding and after 2 failed locations, theyre in my other reviews, I came upon this wonderful place. It had small slopes unless youre willing to walk a mile or 2 through 2 feet of snow to get to the hill across the field. I would recommend doing so if you can bc it looks like it would be super fun! But having almost teenagers and no snow pants or good boots we stayed close to the trails and small litter slopes and ramps ppl had made. Also its FREE!
Nice trail especially when theres snow nice place to take the kids to play in the snow
Close to nature and the ponderosa pines
Loved this trail. Walked it in the evening hours. It was a relaxing and cool walk in the woods that the kids and I enjoyed.
Easy strool through level meanering path. Signposts along the way provide information about the area. There was only two other cars when I was there. Thinking maybe this is not a popular stop. Too bad. Its a great easy hike.
Nice short paved trail with restrooms and lots of informative signs. Beautiful wildflowers, trees, and meadows.
Great easy trail.
Great view and you can see wildlife too.
Beautiful easy walk. We didnt see any wildlife except a short horned lizard and some ravens, but still enjoyable.
It was a nice little walk and my dog enjoyed smelling everything.
Cute nature walk right outside of town off the 180
A wonderful wildlife experience. Well design trails bring you into contact with nature.
Nice place too spend the day at
Great little 1 1/2 hike.nice signage about the history of the park.We could see the Aspens changing colors from the parking lot on the mountain back towards Flagstaff.
Its nice for an educative walk, didnt see much wildlife though..
