While I cannot speak towards the chair lift or the ski/snowboarding experience, which I’m told is often crowded and overwhelming; what I can speak about is how awesome doing just the hike is. You get gorgeous views of all the large peaks in the area and the hiking path is extremely well maintained! Great experience :-)

I had a great time trying to learn how to snowboard. We rented the equipment and had a good time going down the beginners slope. I couldn’t get on the lift because you have to snowboard your way down. So if you want to ride the lift make sure that you are paying for the scenery lift because it is only available during certain times.

The views are beautiful. The ride to the top and back takes about 20 minutes. At the top, you are over 10,000 feet above sea level. The chair lift does not stop at the top. If you are lucky, you might see some deer. At this time of the year, the aspen are changing color and they are gorgeous.

Great experience riding the ski lift in the summer. Due to the coronavirus you must buy your tickets online. I found it worth a few bucks to take the chair lift to the top. The views to the west are fantastic. You can see the grand canyon from the top. The restrooms are clean. The snow sports shop is open. I suggest taking a sweatshirt or windbreaker because it got a little breezy and chilly at the top even on a sunny day in the middle of summer.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Went on Labor Day weekend and was quoted a 2+ hour wait with pre-purchased tickets in hand. Was told we could get out of line and get a Once I emailed for the refund I discovered all purchases were final. Spoke with Grace after at least 3 emails, and she refused to refund the ticket price. They only give you credit to a future visit. Snowbowl added a third time slot to allow people to come early during the holiday weekend. Knowing full well that they couldn’t accommodate the extra capacity on a holiday weekend. Worst business practices I ever seen. She said go ahead leave bad reviews and hung up on me. Don’t waste your money here!

We have been on the chair lift many times off season and loved it. Today was a total disappointment. Shorter ride (20 mins r/t) and no getting off at the top (which is part of the experience). Plus long, long lines as only every fourth chair is used and everyone is looking for an outdoor activity.I understand that the old lift is being updated but for those of us that have experienced that, we felt gypped. When purchasing tickets online we should have been informed of the changes before we drove two hours each way. We were told the changes were in the small print but we looked after the ride and never saw it.We will look forward to the new experience next year but not worth it right now.

We took a large group here in the summertime. Stayed for a few hours. The chair lift was beautiful and relaxing. The views from the top were spectacular at an elevation of 11,500 ft. The summer activities were also fun. The bungee trampoline was the kids favorite and the staff could not have been kinder with the children.

This was our second time riding the scenic lift and we were pretty disappointed we could not get off at the top. Still charging the same amount or more for the ride that you could get off at the top seems just too pricey for what you get. It was not communicated very well on the snowbowl website (although signs everywhere at the lift area, after you get there and cannot get a refund). Just disappointed.

Paid for what I thought was a timed entry. When I got there, I first waited in line for 20 mins to park. Then I found out we need to have our online vouchers printed at the counter and there was a line for that. I also I waited in line to get on the lift. That line was over an hour. I went on a Sunday. Whats the point of a timed entry if the wait is so long? When I heard about this place it seemed like a good deal for 25 dollars but given the long waits when Im only in town for a limited time, Im afraid this isnt worth it...

On a recent trip to Snowbowl near Flagstaff We went to see the leaves changing. This is October 2020.Due to Covid you must purchase your tickets in advance online and they limit the amount of people that can go up on the ski lift. You go up to the top and turn around and come back there is no getting off at the top.The view is fantastic! The wait can take a little while but it’s worth it. Dress warm as it is cool near the top of the mountain. We did see one unfortunate incident in that as they were moving cars into the parking lot they took you up an incline that was basically gravel and a couple of motorcycles ahead of us we’re having difficulty maneuvering on that surface. One of the motorcyclist drop their bike. As someone who rides I know it’s important that you ride on paved surfaces with a motorcycle. I would suggest to the individuals checking people in for the sky lift that they could have checked the motorcyclist pre-purchased tickets and then let them go around the barrier on the paved area to avoid that issue. You could not see how loose the gravel was from the turn in at the gate. People who do not ride are not really aware of this issue, but it could have been much worse for those people. They seemed to be OK. Just a thought for future safety.

Had really bad experience here. A worker named Chad was very mean to my friend and I because my friend was injured and we had to walk down the trail. He kept yelling at us about how he has a family and he needs to go home. Do they not get paid if its a bit after hours ? And also a lady in the returns department had the same bad attitude. We had to drive two hours to go there, never again.

First time in Snowbowl and coming from Southern California. Been to Big Bear and Mammoth. Though Snowbowl isnt as large as Mammoth the fresh snow made it an excellent experience. A lot of different runs to choose from as well.If you are planning on. Good skiing for Arizona! The snow was good & lift lines were small. The restaurant seating area is a little small, so groups may need to separate as people tend to save tables. The food was a simple menu of pizza & chicken tenders.I would recommend looking to rent equipment elsewhere. Staff was friendly but morning line (on a holiday weekend) was an hour wait. Theres local places down in town that rent.

For what its worth, I believe this place is the next best winter destination for our local Arizonans. Sunrise may, just a tad, edge out this place but I love going here. If youre in southern AZ this place is easier to get to than Sunrise (IMHO). I believe people who comes here are the easy going type (just my experience), as well as the staff. I would suggest management do something about people who bought their season passes, ahead of time, get processed faster and not stand in the line (1 line) just to get to Guest Services. Management needs to streamline this process (thats partly why I gave 4 *). This season was the first time I saw the snow making machines, which I thought was cool to see. So far, the season is starting out great. Good amount of snow and I hope its steady as Im planning to go back. Overall and like any ski resorts, this place looks great when theres a good amount of snow coverage. I sure dont want to see some dead grass or mud.

The ski lift is very expensive. The parking lots are not clearly marked and you cant go into the lodge without paying $25 per person. Its great to have a ski lodge only a couple of hours from the Phoenix area. There are some nice runs and good lifts here.During my latest trip, I was frustrated by the long lines to buy tickets and the misinformation I was given by employees. I had purchased my ticket online ahead of time but was told that I needed to stand in the gigantic Lee long line to redeem it for my Lyft pass. I then found out I could stand in a much shorter line to redeem it.I I will continue to visit Snowbowl because it is convenient and fun.

Drove to Snowbowl at the almost end of its season yesterday. Snow is melting fast and only one area was open for skiing. There were lots of cheerful people. And the live music at the base outside of restaurant. We wanted to go up the mountain on chairlift but found out they dont allow people to go on chairlifts who are not skiers, when season is on. It was a bummer, but they do it to avoid overcrowded peak. So that was understandable. But the visit was a fun anyway.

You cant beat Snowbowl for the price. Usually around March, the end of the season they provide tickets for $30 but then give you a lunch voucher for $15. Even though its nearing the end of the season the snow is still plentiful. Last time I went they got 40+ in the city and nearly double that on the mountain. Plus when youre done skiing, head down to old flag and visit any one of the amazing bars or restaurants.

Hands down the best ski resort near Phoenix. Also, pretty much the only ski resort near Phoenix. They have developed quite a bit in the past few years: fast lifts, great snow machines, plenty of terrain to explore, and a surprisingly good park later on in the season. Season pass prices are not cheap, but they are reasonable. Expect to pay around $80 for a day pass, but do it online in advance and youll get a discount.
