Dont forget to take a pair of goggles with you. There are some rock out croppings literally just a few feet into the water that you would be able to see some fish swimming around. Worth the walk to get there. It says adults only here, but there were children at this beach.

The trek to get here was stunning, completely took my breath away and I felt like i was in a fairytale. I had low expectations and thought it would be extremely difficult with mud due to the rain, but it had all dried by the time I got there and it was magnificent. I started out 45 minutes before sunset and the lighting was perfect. It took time, but was my favorite part of the entire trip to PR. It was darker by the time I got to the beach, but everyone else had already left and I’d met on the trial. It’s a beautiful solitary beach. Highly recommend to spend an afternoon here if you want alone time!

A secluded hidden beach after a 45 minutes (at least for us) hiking walk off Seven Seas beach. Clear water, distance view of El Yunque, no one else there when we went.Pay for parking at Seven Seas and walk/hike to it. When you come back if you want to use the restroom/shower its a $1 per person.

This beach is very nice under the right conditions, but it has its drawbacks. There is some garbage around certain parts of the beach and the gnats are pretty intense. To the far right there are cool rocks to climb on. At high tide there is essentially no beach on the north side, but at low tide the beach is pretty big. It is about a 35 or 45 minute walk from Seven Seas beach to get to Escondida, but its a pretty easy walk with other small beach options along the way. The good part is that the long walk makes it so that the beach is very quiet and peaceful.

Very beautiful and calm beach, its waist height until about 100 feet out. The water is clear and the sand is nice. Plenty of spots to find shade during a hot day. The walk there is long and muddy, but its part of the adventure! It wouldnt be called the Hidden Beach if it was easy to get to!

Because of the rocks and the natural ecosystem on this beach, this one is not so much for swimming or getting into the water. Is more for relaxing, sightseeing and sun bathing. Is not that easy to find. You have to follow a trail that is almost a secret. If you are lucky, you will see some wild life during your walk. PLEASE, do not bother or kill the wild life there... remember, your are in their habitat. Is also other hidden beaches on the same area, be sure you are informed before you start your journey to this hidden gems.

WARNING: SWIMMERSPlaya Escondida is a beautiful beach - its clean and doesnt get very crowded. The ocean is crystal clear and appears rather calm. There are rather strong currents so dont let the calm appearance fool you. There have been multiple fatal drownings in the waters at this beach. You can access the beach by walking a path that begins at the Seven Seas beach - the path does get a little muddy and is rather buggy so be prepared. There are no facilities so make sure to bring what ever you need for the day, but be prepared to carry it back out with you.

The walk there is horribly muddy. Some spots had 2-3 of stanind water and took about 20 minutes to walk. I came out with a lot of bug bites. But the beach itself is beautiful and is great for looking for sea shells. Its not a good beach to swim in.

Hiding behind lots of trees there is a piece of paradise. Awesome beach, its not deep at all, like 3 or 4 feet deep if you go in a little further. Great place for pictures, to relax, enjoy the awesome sights of nature and its sounds, and have a good time with the entire family. This place doesnt have trash cans nearby so be sure to bring something to take your trash with you. Its an aproximately 20-25 minutes walk in the wilderness through a trail mostly covered by trees.

Beautiful beyond words. The sand is not as white as some beaches. The insect ridden trail to reach this beach is rough going. You may not even have an enjoyable visit due to any number of issues. But should you decide to try to make this trip, it may become one of your top favorite beaches as it is mine.

This is one of the best beaches in all PR. The water is super clear and after a 45 minute walk/hike it feels even better. Escondida is a perfect hiking destination that not only offers an amazing beach, but also gives you the opportunity to almost have the place to yourself! It is a little bit of a hike, but the terrain is easy. However, if it has been raining, you will need shoes to handle the mud. By the way, NO FLIP-FLOPS...you will hate yourself...trust me....The trail takes about 45 minutes, starting at the end of Seven Seas Beach. Bring water and a sugary snack for the way back.A must see if you are in Fajardo! And dont even think about starting your day without stopping in at Cafe Playero first; you can thank me later!

Ill give it the benefit of the doubt. The beach was beautiful, and the hike there was possibly better than the actual beach. However, we got there at about dusk and were greeted by tiny biting bigs (sand fleas or mites?) that made us want to leave asap. Not sure if its just that time of day, or what.

We took the path to Escondida Beach from Seven Seas Beach. The beaten path is quite easy to follow and it took about 20 mins travel each way. When we went the water was very clear which allowed for a great snorkeling experience. There were not store/shops near by so be sure to take your own water and food. It is well worth the hike!

Jo
Review №54

There was only one other couple there when we visited on a Friday morning, so it gets high marks for solitude. The water was very calm for easy (if a little boring) swimming. However, it alternated between rocky and sandy wading out; not ideal in a swimming beach. There beach itself is relatively narrow. We found a few shady spots in the morning but it would be full sun later in the afternoon. Sand was golden brown with a fine texture and very nice. Id read some reviews that there was garbage, but it was pristine when we visited. I enjoyed the walk to the beach as much as the beach itself. Bottom line, its a nice beach, that isnt crowded, that doesnt quite cut it as a great swimming beach and isnt spectacularly beautiful to compensate.

This beach is so beautiful and peaceful. The water is also very clear and calm. To get to it via GPS/Google Maps, type Seven Seas Beach as your destination, park in the lot there, go to seven seas beach and then ask people there for directions to Playa Escondida. Its about a 15 min walk thats pretty leveled (very low risk of slipping or falling). You cant drive to Playa Escondida. You wont regret it.

Twenty minute walk to a perfectly secluded beach with an absolutely stunning view. The path to Escondida can be found at the end of Parque Nacional Seven Seas, itself a publicly accessible beach. Follow the path to the end around the north side of the the lagoon, through tree cover. Tons of wildlife along the way from lizards to landcrabs to sandpipers to egrets.Econdida beach is quiet, was sparsely attended when we visited, and the water was super clear. Theres a sandbar and coral about 100 yards from the shoreline, so waves break far out and settle without any force on the beach itself. Perfect for wading in calm shallow water. We watched a group of pelicans dive and eat fish for a few hours. They hung out with us the whole time. This is pretty close to the Platonic ideal of a beach.
