This is a great place to get away from the city and be with nature. We ride our horses out here and see everything from deer to coyotes. Its beautiful to just walk leisurely amongst the trees with the smell of the pine trees in the air...it reminds me of camping. Be careful on some of the trails in the early mornings or around sunset the Rattlesnakes are out sunning themselves. Beautiful place!

Spacious park with primitive parking. Big hills of dumped river rock you can climb and experience avalanche like conditions. Horse trails, hiking, biking, cycling, jogging, dog, kids, wild life and river front access. I came across white tail and turkeys. Green space and horse manure. Texas sized acorns near the river.

Of course this is the jewel that belongs to the Sacramento suburbs. Most major metros have some sort of River,Creek, lake, but Im partial to ours. Not just because of proximity and tribalism. It truly is unique with a great group of neighbors who respect each other, Sierras in view at all times. Cyclists, runners, photographers, anglers, hikers, boaters, equestrians, and just plain sitting around next to the water . It is a true beauty, and the community shows its love, care, and respect for the land and resource.

I dont often go to the river but I like this spot because there is actually a Sandy Beach and quite a bit of shoreline to go with it. The bathrooms are well kept and there arent as many homeless. Well perhaps you just dont see them as much since its a bit further from an off ramp.

Year round RV park in Truckee. They have some sites that they rent out on a daily basis while others are available for a month or the entire summer. Its pretty convenient to Northstar and Squaw ski resorts and north shore Lake Tahoe. There are lots of pine trees and close to I-80, but you dont really hear the traffic.
