I remember Delta pawns about 15 years ago. Took the dogs there the other day and I was blown away at how cool that Park has become. I hope they connect the trails because it does dead end if you go to the left when you park

Peaceful Nature Walk! We walk as a family through Delta Ponds frequently. We dont lube close, but its worth the drive. Especially in July when the blackberries are ripe! But sincerely, we go every season, as there is always something with enjoying. The path is flat with gravel, and stroller-friendly. Parking is available at two separate places, one paved, with a port-o-potty and HC spaces.Warm mornings are great for duck and goose families getting breakfast, cranes, heron, turtles on logs, and osprey if you keep an eye up!

As far as enjoying a bit of nature while being right next to Delta Hwy & the local mall, its a plus. There is a fair amount of road noise, but its to be expected. Level well maintained path. Lots of birds & plants to enjoy. I wish there were some benches to be able to sit & have lunch, but none yet. Trail starts out between two ponds & then skirts around the East & West sides.

About 1.7 miles to go out and back, if you begin at the end. We began in the middle and went to both ends passing the car once to grab additional water. Some ups and downs but mostly level gravel trail. Great flora and lots of singing birds. About half shade and half sunny fields. Someday a looping trail will be completed which would take this trail to a new level! Hope they do it soon.

Besides it being a nice walk, you have a good chance of running into a local to the park, Eric is somewhat resident there and is normally posted up during the day near by the bathrooms. Hes kind as can be and just loves to have people to chat with about life, ect. Definitely recommend the park.

First time there. Maybe the last. I didnt see much access to fish. A few spots looked like you could throw topwater baits. Anyone have a suggestion, or spot there you could recommend? Thanks.

This is my little escape from the city right close to home. My favorite time to walk it is evening. Its not crowded, and many nights Im the only one there. I always see some wildlife and sometimes even stars. During the day there is lots to see, as well. There are two trail sections both with their own flavor.(Note, if you walk it at night after dark it gets a little spooky solo. In the winter people are set up for overnight camping in the parking lot and surrounding sidewalks can have interesting foot traffic.)The kids will enjoy the hike, too!

So relaxing at the Delta Ponds. We video taped a heron catching a catfish that escape from him, he had to re-catch it, speared it with his beak several times and finally after 9 minutes in one gulp- DOWN THE HATCH! It was the coolest thing ever. And the turtles swimming on the logs but they were high centered so all four legs were swimming and swimming but they were going nowhere, slow.

This is a nice and mostly clean park. Lots of wildlife. I counted at least 13 species of birds, turtles, large catfish, otters, and much more crawling it doing around the ponds. There is one geocache here which is in tact. Keep in mind that the trail does not seem to loop all around and dead ends. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from end to end at a decent pace.

This is one of my favorite places go walk with my dog (on leash). In good weather, I enjoy watching the native turtles sunning themselves on logs put in the water for them. I like seeing the waterfowl and appreciate the native plants. The park trail feels safe, although I do see homeless camps from time to time. Trail is medium accessible (not paved).

ProsWide, well maintained, even, gravel path. Toddlers and more rugged strollers would be fine.Close in to town for a quick nature break.Lots of wildlife - ducks, geese, herons, osprey, supposed to be turtles and fish (bass and salmon among others). We see birdwatchers and fishermen a lot.Educational signs along the path.2 small parking lots.ConsMainly the road noise. Its set between Goodpasture Island Road and the Delta Highway. Goodpasture noise depends on the time of day but Delta Highway is always loud. Not the place to come for peace and quiet and to hear the birds sing.NeutralIts not a loop. Only out and back on the same path.

The pond has been a wonderful birding/animal-watching place for us, not because of the variety of species, but because of the smart design of the path, it’s very easy to spot an animal, as if they were on the stage! We visited several times in July and August 2018, saw some residents like Great blue heron, Canada geese, killdeer, mallards, egrets...etc., also saw nutrias (family of six )for the very first time.
