We didnt really walk any trails but it seemed like there were plenty of places to go. I guess there was a swimming hole down the trail from where we were. We found a place to hang our hammocks up the bank from the river. It was so relaxing listening to the water. We will for sure go back.

Youre Duluth summer experience is not complete unless you have lost your Lester Park and Lester River virginity. Lester river is always warmer than the big Lake, and Lester Park playground is a really cool park! Add to it the picnic areas, biking trails, and Built-in barbecue pits, and its a destination spot you dont wanna miss out on.

This is a spot definitely worth the stop. My pup and I were there on a Wednesday night and the trails weren’t that busy, though the parking lot was fairly full. Great area to hike around and explore and cool off in the slow moving river that runs through it all. Cool biking trails and swimming spots too!

This is an amazing park for being in a city. Winding river trails, Seven Bridges, and great swimming spots. Great for families, get togethers, or just a place to hang. Seven Bridges leads up to skyline parkway, and is an amazing route to cruise, walk, or bike.

Big nature park with miles and miles of trails. Note to hikers, the Lester River trail by the stone bridge is a fast rhythm section for mountain bikers. Heed caution, its often hard for mountain bikers to stop in that section. I recommend hiking on the ski trails in the summer.

Lester Park trails include more than 9 miles of bike, hike, and ski trails that roughly follow Lester River and Amity creek. In the winter, there are more than 9 miles of groomed ski trails for both classic and skate with around 4 miles lighted. The bike trails are part of the Duluth Traverse Project and are built and maintained by COGGS. The trails are shared use so bikers and hikers need to watch out for each other. Theres not supposed to be any bikers or Hikers on groomed ski trails. The state snowmobile trail also runs through Lester ending up at the playground. Snowmobile, ski, and bike trails cross in several places so its important to pay attention to signs and be alert at trail crossings. The Lester Park playground was just replaced a couple years ago with updated equipment including a little climbing wall, two slides, a bouncy bridge, and a fort. There is a ball field with back stop for softball or kick ball and lots of open space for volleyball and soccer. There is a shelter with picnic tables the can be rented for events through Duluth Parks and Rec.
