This was such a great tour. They spaced us all out very well so it was and felt very safe. There was hand sanitizer at every stop. Everyone working was friendly and was great at giving us information about the ship!Thank you.

We enjoyed the tour! Super economical entertainment for families with kids that can climb stairs. Took 4 kids including our 3 and 1 year old (in a front pack) and we managed fine. Tour guides were at certain interest points. Ask them to provide you information along the way and they have some good stories

Ship is huge! Really fun coming from the upper midwest to see something that belongs on the ocean. Tours are cheap and the staff are really helpful even in a middle of a pandemic. Really interesting seeing something like this and it enters you into the downtown abliss of Duluth. Walk the pier, catch some food and find other attractions!

If you are unfamiliar with freight ships and have an interest in them then this is a good experience. If you fear heights or are particularly tall then this is going to be an anxiety inducing experience by the nature of the ships design.

On my most recent trip to Duluth my friend really wanted to go on the tour of this ship. We were there on a pretty hot day and while the gift shop was cooled, the rest of the ship was not, so I would suggest getting something to drink before starting the tour. Our tour guide was pretty good, shes obviously done it a few times and was good at identifying the rooms / areas that the people didnt have much interest in or were too hot to be in for too long. It was pretty cool to see some of the inner workings of such an old ship.If you have kids or older people with you, you need to know that there are a LOT of stairs that have low ceilings, VERY steep steps and cramped quarters. There were several children under the age of 12 on the tour we were on and of course, they are kids, but if you have a baby, which a few did, its going to be tough. Im 65 and I was able to manage, but it was a LOT of ducking. The tour lasted about an hour and was a fun way to spend an afternoon down in Canal Park. If you are in the area and looking for some history on the Great Lakes shipping boats and all that sort of thing, this will be right up your alley.

This was my 3rd tour of the Wm Irvin and each time I learn something new. You absolutely get the feel of working on a Great Lakes ore boat because the tour pretty much cover the whole boat. My favorite part is going down into the hull where the iron ore was carried.

This is an iconic tourist attraction in Duluth. This ship was the flagship for the United States Steel company. It was built with special features like brass railings and enhancements in the engine room. It also had guest Suites up front for entertaining guests up front. Im sure there were a lot of contract signed and customers wined and dined well cruising the great lakes in this iconic vessel.

Touring this ship is so cool! We went for the history, but mostly the ghosts because were nerds like that. While I didnt notice any paranormal activity I was absolutely blown away by how gorgeous this ship is! Our tour guide was a lot of fun and knew all about the ship and Lake Superior. Little advice, call ahead to book your ticket because the tours sell out fast!

Informative and iconic Duluth attraction! We had a great tour guide that provided fun facts and infused humor into his monologue. Some parts of the tour got a little stuffy and I dont believe this tour would be handicap accessible with all the narrow stairways. Otherwise, well worth the price for families and other visitors!

One of the best haunted exhibits! Our group (including a 12 and 14 y/o) really enjoyed this tour very much. A perfect balance of creepy and fun, and with the best backdrop ever... a retired Ore Ship! Hats off to the actors... they were fantastic, and funny too. The artistic work was amazing... absolutely amazing. Highly recommend!

When I went I had a very friendly and energetic tour guide that involved the guests and made it very engaging. The gift shop is very extensive, but Also a little pricey. Make sure to go on a Tuesday when it is cheaper! It is very cool that the museum is the boat itself. The tour takes you through the whole boat, including going outside on top of the roof! Very fun, but also lots of ladders to climb so be careful!

Our tour guide was fantastic and tried to engage everyone in the tour. He was knowledgeable and kept things interesting without overloading the group with information. Take good shoes with you on this tour as you go through the ship and theres a lot of steep steps.

Our tour guide, Spencer, was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He truly loves his job, and it shows. The ship has some really interesting history and the tour comes at a reasonable price. If youre looking for something to do in Duluth, come here. Kids are free, but be careful if you bring young ones on. Falling off the ship would be too easy for an energetic kid.

Je
Review №54

The tour on this historic ship is somewhat expensive, at around $10 for a half hour group tour. It is more aimed towards families and older folks, since the tour does not go beyond ship basics and living quarters. I went with my fiance and sister, who are under age 35, and we would have liked a more in-depth experience, like seeing the bowels of the boat and more of the engine room. The tour is very physical, with very steep/small steps, and lots of tripping hazards. It was a great way to spend a rainy day, and we cannot say enough great things about our tour guide, Becca. She was extremely professional and engaging.

The ship was awesome to see this past summer. The cargo hold was packed full of Halloween decor they are too lazy to remove for the few weekends a month in October they do a haunted ship. Terrible to use it as storage space instead of the full tour you used to get only a few years ago. You dont get a good feeling of the size of the cargo capabilities now. Was very disappointed my son was not able to see it the way I remembered seeing it as a youngster.

Ive been going to this ship for about 10 years, and I love it every time. The tour of the ship and the history the guides tell you a lot of information about both the ship and Duluth. Its worth at least touring once if youve never been on a tour like it before. Be warned that there are some steep stair cases throughout the tour which could prove troublesome for people that have mobility problems. Its especially awesome during October because they change it into a haunted ship. They turn the inside of the ship into a haunted maze, which is a scary good time. Overall if youve never been on a great lakes ship, make sure this goes on your Duluth trip plans.
