Nice view hidden in the middle of the city. Park was well maintained and very beautiful both summer and winter. Google maps states its open 24 hours, but signs clearly show its open from sunrise to sunset. Definitely a nice place for photos.

I love this place for bass fishing. There really isnt anything to do here except fish. The big pond is stocked with largemouth bass, channel cat, bluegill and sunfish. A greenway trail runs close by. The variety of wildlife is amazing. Canada geese, snow geese, cormorants, a white heron or crane, a group of lesser cranes and a few plovers were recreating yesterday.

The place shows very little respect from the homeless it looks like a warzone on yhe bike trails its quite sad cause it shows how little adams county keeps there parks and recreation under control ie theyre more worried about catching the homeless whome are getting high to hide the pain there in with there drugs rather then just help them from being homeless and actually all around preventing the trashing of our parks... Way to go adams county sheriffs, I know for a fact u put a ton of my friends in jail for many years and for what? A dang drug that is practically as legal as weed now! Awesome protect and serve lol ur a joke

I was there for work purposes. I knew of this place but never actually walked through there. Nice paths. However there are remnant (old and new) of the homeless trying not to be. But overall looks like a place i would talk a walk through.

Good place to take the dogs for a walk or bring the kids to fish. Plenty of bluegill and smallish largemouth bass to catch. Place is kind of dirty since most of the anglers that visit do not pick up their trash.

Could be really nice, its too sketchy though. TONS of trash everywhere, graffiti on nearly every surface as well as barely concealed encampments of homeless people. One camp even had a plastic (I hope) skull mounted on a spike. Fun walking around if you want to roleplay that youre in the post apocalypse. Also, watch out for people under the bridges. They may not be dangerous but they will scare the hell out of you if youre not paying attention.

The homeless have unfortunately ruined this place. There is a large encampment on one of the islands and trash is strewn about everywhere. Who is responsible for maintaining this place? Sad!

Jo
Review №43

If you grew up around this area in the early 80s and rember how it was then and mind you there was no I76 back then and it was a really fun place ,and still is just because the state park service may not have funds to keep it cleen or the department of transportation dose not mean its a getting or dump or any other thing then a park that you your self should try and take a few mins when ever your there to help keep it cleen ,there are trash cans few but that are there ,I walk my dog there every day still and I am not to proud to stop and try to keep it a little cleener ,as for the homeless people there ,it is not a crime to be homeless in Colorado ,and with the state growing such as it has and the need for more housing is in greater demand you will have homeless people ,and that wont change the condition of the place every one just needs to step up and take pride in some thing so places like , Lowell ponds is around in the future ,a lot of the pictures I saw posted of the trash and spay paint were on the south side bike path and with all the paths leading from the down town area you will come across that kinda stuff but the more people blame ,disrespect ,and forget. About this area the sooner another developer will come along and make it in to a strip mall or parking lot ,and I my self dont care to see that ,all in all its a really nice spot to enjoy time with pets, kids, loved ones.

Really a state park with better than average evening and night time fishing for average to slightly better than average catfish. During the daylight hours a nice escape to nature and take a relaxing walk around several small ponds grouped closely together with easily accessible paths convenient for those with difficulty walking on uneven terrain or those who enjoy walks with their dogs looking for that escape to the wild as you can get in the middle of a major metropolitan area.

This state wildlife area has fallen into disrepair. They must not have the funds or the interest to maintain it. HOWEVER, it is still a hidden gem of nature along the Clear Creek path. Ive come here frequently with my kids to bird and geocache. It seems a little sketchy at times and I definitely wouldnt be here close to dark.

Im not impressed. It looks like someone tried to clean up a landfill & get folks to call it a park. The water looks nasty. Wouldnt eat ANYTHING caught in that water. Trash everywhere I looked. Thats the fault of the people who frequent the place. Lazy inconsiderate jackasses. I wish the jerks would get their butts hauled in for it. CLEAN OUT the ones who FREQUENT the place and trash & CLEAN UP the water.
