Very quaint little park with plenty of shade. My boyfriend and I spent a lovely afternoon playing a card game on the grass. The flower beds were a little sparser than the photos (today, at least) and a few people let their dogs off leash (not sure if that’s allowed or not), which is the reason for the 4 stars—but, in all, we enjoyed it and would recommend!

Nice small, family park. Not too many flower beds filled today but there were some pretty flowers and the playground is nice for kids.

Lots of room to let kids run, a playground. And nice grassy area that has some shade to have picnic or yoga. The only thing is I did not find a public restroom

It was a nice quiet park! Tucked in the neighborhood, everyone was friendly that walked by. There is two sides, one with a basketball court and other open areas and the other side is like a little court yard with flowers in the middle and a few benches. Very Chill and relaxing place to hang out and /or have a picnic.

This is a sweet little Park that you can go to in the middle of a city and just find a moment to sit relax and breathe in. It has beautiful flowers that are not around in the winter but sure to enjoy during the spring and summer seasons.

Beautiful park to hang out at. Speer isnt too loud and generally, if it is too loud, Ill move over to the playground area. Took my cat put for a walk and he loved it! Its a fantastic place to take photos. I recomend the spring and early summer to see all the flowers. It is a clearly well cared for park!

A well maintained park located within a nice neighborhood. Offers a more quiet/chill vibe and atmosphere than Wash Park. Perfect place to do a workout or have a picnic.

Park is always well kept year round. Would suggest they do more beatification to it so it can rival other parks. I do enjoy that there is never any homeless people here trashing this place like they do with Governors park.

Potted Max (a neighborhood cat usually located one street past the park) is a highlight when visiting this park! :) I really wish there was a fenced area for dogs; this is our neighborhood spot in walking distance and it stinks that we technically cant let the dogs run off leash. (If you do, watch out for animal control. They DO patrol thanks to a nosy neighbor and do also ticket). The other side of the park is pretty when the flowers are in bloom and the bat watching starting in late August is a plus!

My wife and daughter and I lived beside it for 18 years. My former wife still lives in the house and I live in a senior home beside it. It is a great little park with a kids playground and half the park is a mature flower garden with large pine trees around it.It abuts Hungarian Freedom Park and others.

I love Alamo Placita. The Basketball court is usually open. There is a playground and enough grass to throw up volleyball, football, or soccer. There is a phenomenally maintained flower garden to the south before Speer that is an instagram classic spot. Overall I would say this public space is underutilized but it is clean and hase picnic areas as well. Great park.

Alamo Placita is one of the oldest parks in Denver. Commissioned by Denvers first mayor, Robert W. Speer in the early 1900s. Before the advent of motion pictures, Alamo Placita Park was once known as Chutes park where a team of trained Elk would run up a 60 ft high platform and dive into a tank of water. Today, the grandeur of this park can be clearly seen amongst the beautiful and carefully crafted rows of flowers and fields of lush green grass and is located on the north side of Speer Boulevard between Ogden and Emerson Streets. In 2000, This park was designated as a historic district by the Denver Landmark Preservation Commission.

We got married at this park! One of the most beautiful parks in Denver! No one could say they had more flowers at their venue than we did. If you are thinking about getting married here keep in mind ththe pros and cons- CONS 1. It is right on a busy street so you will hear traffic. 2. You do run the risk of strangers around since it is a popular dog walking spot and park. Most people are very respectful & watch from sidewalks. 3. You cant use a PA system so you have to get creative with music -we used or car for music before & the walk. PROS 1. Cheap venue for up to 200 people comfortably. ( cost $285 plus chair rental) 2. Mid July thru early Oct. The garden is phenomenally beautiful sono extra costs for decor 3. You get to share your special day with lots of people you dont know & they love it too. 4. Its right in the center of the city- close to lodging, resturants etc so no 2-3 hr drive into the mountains for guests ...bring plenty of water & cheap umbrellas for guests its very sunny & gets very hot. There is a spot o pot at the playground but if your renting the park & have a big amount of people parks & rec will require you to rent one. Ps most people in Denver metro dont even know about this park eventhough they pass it going to work everyday so even for the natives you will have to include maps with your invites
