I cant recommend this place enough! It was amazing! The staff is really knowledgable and very happy to tell you about the history of the artifacts and art. A lot of people seem to be commenting on how small the museum is. It is small but I actually think thats a huge strength of the museum. Because of its size, they are able to have exhibits that are very focused and specific. I learned a lot and am eager to go back!

A small quaint museum showing off amazing art of Latin America and helps immerse visitors in the culture. Went during Denver arts week which happens during the first Saturday of November where multiple art museums graciously open up their doors for free between 5-10pm. Wouldn’t have really even known about this location but the Denver Arts week brought it to my attention and it’s a little bit out of the way from downtown where most of the other museums are clustered around. Thankfully there were shuttles between all the museums for this day but there’s quite a lot of street parking for local residents to enjoy. Museum admission is not expensive on most other days and it’s a fantastic view of the amalgamation of culture intertwined with those of the U.S. and South America.

Not sure how to find the Museo De Las Americas? Look for the bold (and newly-painted) pink exterior among the shops, galleries, and businesses on Santa Fe. Talk about eye-catching!I have visited this museum many times over the last decade, and every trip has been memorable. I feel that their educational offerings for children and students are particularly strong. They have interesting classes for children that take place in the basement, and the activities combine art-making with historical or cultural lessons. Its not just a museum for children, however; often the exhibits are challenging and provocative (as art should be). The current exhibit is Espacio Liminal/Liminal Space. A multi-artist show curated by artist Frank Lucero, it includes paintings as well as multimedia pieces and sculptures, a variety of abstract and realistic (if heightened) artwork, and an interactive installation, too. Certainly these pieces could make a powerful impression upon a young viewer, but the ways liminality are expressed both in Latino culture and in these works of art will be noticed best by adults. The museum’s only permanent exhibit is La Cocina, a replica of executive director Maruca Salazar’s grandmother’s kitchen in Mexico.Museo de las Americas is a small museum, but foot by foot, it is perhaps the most innovative and exciting museum in Denver. I strongly encourage everyone to visit the Museo. For more information, link to Cutting Edge: Museo de las Americas Puts the Focus on Local Talent by Ray Mark Rinaldi, the Denver Post (April 14, 209).

It is a small museum. That being said, I really liked the Mexican art in the Las Hadas exhibit. The front desk attendant was very nice and full of information about the Museum and the exhibit. I plan on becoming a member soon.

Saw the Chicano exhibit. The admission was $5. The museum is small but the exhibit was great. The exhibit had both modern art and traditional posters, banners, and videos to document the era. A cultural diamond for the community in Denver. I wish it were bigger. The building is beautiful, the staff is friendly and informative. The museum is located in a very cool neighborhood of Denver. Go and check it out.

I just love this place. As a Chicanx its something in the community I really wanna get involved in. I went to check out the Pachuco y Sirenas exhibit and it was so amazing for a variety of reasons (I wont add it here cuz itll be a super long read). Overall the staff was very friendly and super approachable. I had some great conversations with a few of the members and I need to come back for more events. Look out for some of the programs they put up, Im absolutely positive itll be worth your time!
