A local art store that sources diverse materials and supplies across mediums and price points is a rare thing to have in a community... One Guirys with a fine art department would be pretty great, but to have MULTIPLE locations along the front range is just exceptional... Better than that is their prices... Incredible sales, incredible everyday pieces the nearly always beat Amazon and other cheapo online art stores, and whats super cool is that by shopping here is youre actually supporting people AND ensuring well have access to a good art supply store - not just generic supplies from a box store or filling bezoss swimming pool with more money.

I take it back. I recently write that Meiningers was my favorite art supply store, but now I have reconsidered. Guirys is just as nice, just as fun, just as well-equipped, and just as interesting. Its just as playful in regards to interesting and odd items for children. Also, the Guirys staff are just as helpful.I may have allowed myself to be thrown off, a bit, by the fact that half of this very big store is dedicated to indoor/outdoor house paints, wallpaper, and home decor, as though that might not be considered artistic. Also, the Guirys staff wear uniform black t-shirts, which may not seem quite as individual and creative as those fancy-dressin Meiningers people. As though that really matters! Now I am reconsidering those views, and I see them as prejudicial, and slightly embarrassing.So I apologize to Guirys, especially the nice folk who work there and who helped me on a recent visit - and Im gonna call it a tie. The two art stores, rivals and competitors, strike me as equal - until some further proof becomes manifest!

Guirys is the all-around cream of the paint shop. If they dont have what youre looking for, it might not exist. Or, you could tell them what you need and they might be able to invent it right in front of you. (Paint-medium-craft tool-style of course.) Nobody can expect them to invent microprocessor envelope poles. Thats just insane!You paint your world. Ill paint mine. Together, we are a masterpiece galleria.

This location of Guirys has it all. Its the best and most in-depth selection of fine arts supplies of all locations. Theres plenty of parking on both the north and south sides of the building. With COVID-19, only the south entrance is open.

Went to four paint stores and Guirys was the only one that could supply a product giving me the finish I needed.

As an artist, I love this place. This summer I painted the house, now I have another reason to love them.

Very wide selection of paint colors. Helpful advice from designer. Store is open Sunday afternoon and was not crowded, maybe due to coronavirus. Highly recommend them.

Ive done business here for about 15 years. I did about $15,000 a business a year. It used to be one of my favorite stores. But theres been a big turnover in employees. Last time I was there I made my complaints known. One of the employees basically told me, why dont you just go shop somewhere else. So now I shop somewhere else. Ive been in the painting business 35 years. My father actually owned a Benjamin Moore dealership. That was the first time Ive ever been treated like that by employee. Treated as if my business didnt matter.

Helpful if not slightly understaffed the times Ive been in. The designer on site is nice, but make an appointment if you can because she is always busy when Ive been in. Oh and they are a paint recycling location. Which is so convenient.

This place has a little of everything while still being a speciality store, it is organized very well, everything is easy to locate. They have competitive pricing, the staff is friendly and approachable. I feel no need to look for any other art supply stores in the area, this one is all I want or need.

They have a wide variety to select from and some great products that everyone doesnt carry. We obtained some superior deck stain from them that only they carry. It last much longer than the more popular brand.

Last time I was here, it was a bad experience. Was waiting for at least half an hour for paint. Even left a bad review.This time it was much better, was there for 5 mins at most. The change of personnel really helped this location.

Guirys is always very helpful, and staffed by extremely knowledgeable people, both for professional house painting and art supplies. For house paints, they have a house brand as well as Benjamin Moore. In art supplies, Ive appreciated that they carry open stock on many high quality brands.

When I go into DIY shops I want the people work there to know more than me and help me - beyond reading the back of a box. Rich at this Guirys is one of those. He is so knowledgeable about the pros and cons of their products. I am definitely going to continue shopping at this Guirys shop- even though there are others closer to my home.

I love Guirys. Their art department is amazing and their price point is below MSRP. I go there as often as I can. I use a variety of paint mediums. Oil, watercolor, acrylic, resin, pigments, alcohol ink. They have everything I need. I always watch for when they put their canvas on sale because they are such high quality. Last time I visited they were 60% off. I got an amazing deal on a huge canvas! Thanks Guirys for always supplying my artistic needs!

I often order 5 x 6 cotton duck, and the crew at this store figured out which is the best deal for me, 5 foot of 6 foot duck, or 6 feet of 5 foot duck. Their knowledge of pigments is good, and they are well versed in paper. They are always ready to check if something not on the shelves is in stock in their storage, or at another Guirys. Good people to have on your side in this bumpy world of fine, or commercial art.

Go there for art supplies. Never bought paint. Prices are average. Staff is good. Easy in and out when you are in a hurry.

Came in looking for some paint samples for picture frames. I had been to home depot where the staff there wanted to tell me how to do what I already knew what I wanted to do... so I came to Guiry’s thinking they would leave me be and make my own decisions. A woman asked if I needed help, to which I said no thank you. Then she asked again and, to not be rude, I let her know what I was painting. She then proceeded to do what the staff at home depot did. I just wanted to get some paint in peace!

Came in feeling unsure about how to create a faux walnut finish and left feeling pretty confident on how. Randy and his associate were extremely helpful and listened to what I needed.Pricing is extremely competitive as well. Highly recommend!

Not your every day paint store! Lots of home furnishings and unique knick knacks not found at other stores. Paint is high quality and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Good selection of paint accessories (masking tape, rollers, pans, brushes) at reasonable prices.

Large variety of art supplies. The staff members are frequently artists themselves and have provided me with a couple of great suggestions over the years. Prices wont beat Amazon, but theyre easily competitive with other brick-and-mortar stores, but offer a lot more (and often better) options than general craft stores.They also sell house paint, but I cant speak to that any.

As a painter this supply has made me look good for a long time. Ben Moore is top quality and Guirys price is right.

As an artist, this is my favorite place to go for materials and supplies. I also love it for furniture and home decor. My favorite pieces in my home came from Guirys!

They will always have my loyalty because when I needed supplies on an afternoon that a snow storm came in and the normally 15 minute ride became an hour and 15 minutes the held a cash register open after close so I could run in and get the supplies I needed. They also are dog friendly and in summer laying on the concrete floor is a favorite pasttime.

Best paint store in town! They also have the best selection of jigsaw puzzles and other cool things.

Always most variety and good quality. I have not been there for years because i never like the service at the paint counter. Somehow, they always have guys w/attitude almost rude. This time i had to because the original paint was from them almost 7 years ago and i had to match it as close as possible. Seemed like they have better staff behind the paint counter comparing the ones 6-7 years ago. Customer service is always on the top of my shopping list. Even though Benjamin Moore is one of the best quality of paints, i will easily switch to a HomeDepot or Sherwin Williams store if i dont like the customer service of staff which i did so 7 years ago w/Guirys. It really was their loss considering that i own several rentals and constantly working on home improvements as part of my business. But again, 7 years later, there was a slight improvement.

Pretty solid selection and very well informed and competent staff. This place has two entrances, I think, and its always out of a bunch of Copic Marker Colors. Pricess tend to stay competitive with those you might find on the internet, and everyone who works there seems happy to see you when you go in looking to buy like, one pencil.

One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. The sales associate, Lauren, basically implied that we could not afford Hunter Douglas and then stopped helping us. She just left us with a catalog and walked away and sat at her computer. When we moved on to picking paint colors a random customer stepped in to help us. While Lauren sat at her desk, looking at her cell phone. Dont waste your time with this place.

Great for house paint and supplies. Terrible for window blinds and shades. One employee for shades and no expertise, does not care about customer needs, concerns, or questions. Guirys should stop carrying shades as a sideline business.

My favorite art supply and paint store

I went to the Guirys on Leetsdale before here and was unimpressed, but as soon as I entered this one I was greeted by a cheerful hello by the cashier. When I went back to the art section and asked about drawing supplies and sketchbooks, the employee was extremely helpful and went out of their way to help me out. When I was leaving, I had a great conversation with the cashier and left extremely happy. Knowledgable and phenomenal customer service, and great selection.
